This is a beautiful architectural house situated on the outskirts of Sarlat, it is only a two minute drive to the town centre. The house has stunning panoramic views of the region and overlooks the medieval town of Sarlat. The nearest restaurant is 1.5km from the house and the boulangerie is just 900m.

Outside you can see deers wandering through the garden in search of the windfall fruit, badgers snuffle at the bottom of the garden. In May the cuckoo returns to her nest and sings cheerily, the green woodpecker can be heard in the trees, red squirrels scurry along the paths and cheekily stop to ask for nuts. In early morning you can find an astonishing variety of wild mushrooms, garden morilles can be found in May and in the autumn cepes can be found in the adjoining woods.

Sarlat is one of the most fascinating and beautifully restored towns in France, it is the capital of Perigord Noir. Sarlat occupies the top spot in terms of tourists and culture in this region. Over a million visitors discover and rediscover the medieval town every year and it deserves to be explored. The town is full of character and charm with medieval and renaissance houses built in the honey coloured local stone.
There is a large market held every Saturday and a food market every Wednesday morning where you can taste many of the regional delicacies and wines.
The 16th and 17th century architectural treasures are here for your admiration and discovery. All summer there are wonderful musical festivals in nearby towns and numerous nocturnal markets where you can sample all the traditional delights whilst mingling with the locals.
Three of the most beautiful villages of perigord, Domme, Beynac and La Roque Gageac are just 15km from the house. There are many historic chateaux and bastide town close by, as well as prehistoric cave paintings including the famous Lascaux. The french National Museum of Prehistory is just a short distance away.
The Dordogne is one of the most beautiful parts of France, and is well known to the French for its food and wine, leading to the saying 'en Perigord, on mange bien'. The area is the home of the truffle (the black diamond) and the world renowned Foie Gras.
Sarlat is the ideal place to be based for visiting all the major tourist attractions that the Dordogne has to offer.
The Dordogne river is close by and offers canoeing, swimming, fishing and snorkelling in stunning surroundings.
There are nine golf courses within one hours drive from the house.

A stunning location with a spectacular view. We spent every evening on the terrace, watching the hot air balloons float by & the sun set. A wonderful base to explore the area or just switch off & enjoy the beauty of Sarlat. Apartment is beautifully fitted out with high end appliances & a very comfy bed.

Wow…… what can I say… this is an amazing place, located just on the outskirts of Sarlat town centre, with stunning views over the valley. It is extremely well equipped, spacious and decorated to a high standard, with two large areas to relax, both with a bbq. The gardens are lush and well maintained and the pool is fabulous. It is a perfect spot to visit the many pretty towns and chateaux which are all a short driving distance away. Katie and Jean Eric are superb hosts and made our stay so enjoyable. Thank you both very much. We shall be back! This is without doubt the best Airbnb we have stayed in and would highly recommend to anyone wishing to visit this beautiful part of France.

We had a wonderful time staying in this lovely apartment! The apartment is fully furnished (i loved the big bath tub).The view right in front of the apartment is magnifique in a very relaxing terrace and there’s a chic swimming pool next to you in a beautiful garden, and it’s all to yourself! The location is perfect too, very close to all the best destinations around the area of Dordogne and Rocamadour. And a big plus, the hosts are excellent hosts! Very nice people and very welcoming. We couldn’t be more comfortable and satisfied. We highly recommend this apartment !

This house has amazing views, is in a great location and is very spacious. We used this house as a base for our walking holiday and we were so happy with the hot tub after all of our walks. The owners are very friendly and should be very proud of this holiday home, they have put a lot of thought and effort in making this a superb place. We were amazed by the views, they are magnificent and stretch for miles. The pool, hot tub and outside BBQ area where all appreciated by everyone, we could not believe our luck that we had booked this superb holiday home. As previous people have stated, it is very clean, spacious and in a great location, everything is on your doorstep, you could not ask for more. The pool is cleaned early everyday by Jeaneric and he keeps the water crystal clear, you have to be up early to catch him but if you are an early riser he chats whilst he cleans the pool and gave us some excellent recommendations on where to eat, the Belle Etoile restaurant is definetly a must for everyone, you need to book well in advance or ask Jeaneric to try and get you a table. The table tennis was a great hit with everyone, even extra thought had gone in this table tennis, it is a great new table that gave our family hours of fun on an evening. We loved our stay here and Jeaneric and Katie are the kindest most thoughtful owners we have ever booked with. We are already thinking about returning next year.Guest rating:
This house is really a great holiday home. The house itself is super, the pool and BBQ area is the best we have ever rented. Jeaneric cleans the pool daily, he cleans it very early but if you manage to catch him he has some great tips about places to visit and where is the best places to buy local produce. The welcome you get on arrival from Jeaneric and Katie just puts you straight into holiday mode, they are a lovely couple who put their heart and soul into this holiday home. This house has everything, a stunning view that stretches for miles, it is beautifully decorated, has a super location, it is very spacious and has peace and tranquility. Quite simply the best holiday house we have ever stayed in. Everything was perfect! The house was extremely well equipped to a very high standard fully kitted out for 10 people. Katie had thought of everything. Katie and Jean Eric cleaned the pool and hot tub every morning and were full of helpful advice. After that they were invisible leaving us to get on with our holiday. Nothing was too much trouble and they came to our rescue when we had a flat tyre on our hire car. The views were absolutely amazing there were fresh flowers and pate cheese and wine to welcome us. This really was our dream holiday home, there is everything you could possibly want for a perfect holiday. We loved this house, the layout is great, the sauna and hot tub are just what you need to unwind and relax. The Christmas decorations were outstanding, a real Christmas tree and lovely table decorations and the generous owners provided champagne and oysters. We absolutely loved our stay in this house, nothing at all disappointed us. The house is very large and spacious and extremely clean. The hot tub and sauna are superb, we booked this house to get away from the hustle and bustle of the run up to Christmas and we were so glad that we did. Our mornings were spent having a leisurely breakfast, reading and enjoying the amazing view, then a long relax in the hot tub, then surprise surprise we had BBQs for lunch every day as the weather was so mild, the skies were clear blue and we had sun!! On an evening we had a sauna, watched some films ( the choice of DVDs and Books are very good) whilst enjoying the local wine in front of the log fire. We absolutely loved this house, we spent most of our time at the house but we will rebook this house as the holiday guide Katie provides has inspired us to come back to this house with our family next year. The house really has everything you could want to enjoy a fabulous holiday. The views are breathtaking, the location is perfect and the house is large, spacious and clean. The pool, hot tub and sauna are all excellent and the owners are very welcoming and helpful.....especially when we had a medical emergency, we phoned Katie and at the drop of a hat she was there to help us at the hospital. The house is very large, clean, well located and has the most amazing views. The pool area is fabulous and kept spotlessly clean, the pool is the cleanest we have ever used and the views from it really are breath taking, the pool alarm gave us peace of mind for our kids.The hot tub is lovely and warm 37 degrees we loved using it in the evening with a nice chilled glass of wine, it was the perfect way to end the day after we had put the kids to bed. There is everything you could possibly wish for at this house and it is very well maintained. The local restaurant really welcomes families and is delicious and not expensive, there was even a cycle to get to the bakery which is only 900 metres away, the table tennis was a big hit with everyone. The owners are very lovely and are very willing to give advice on day trips, restaurants and even where to buy the best meat, cheese and of course as JeanEric told us the most wonderful gateaux in the Dordogne! We absolutely loved this amazing house we wished that we owned it, the views are magnificent. The pool is crystal clear and cleaned daily, the house is very spacious and spotlessly clean. There is a very generous good quality food welcome pack which was really appreciated, there is also a very good holiday and restaurant guide made by Katie which we found to be extremely useful.
We thought that a lot of effort has been put into this holiday home and we would certainly recommend it and we have already re-booked for next year and we are people who never rebook but this house certainly merits a second visit

We have just had an excellent week at this wonderful holiday home.
The decoration of the house is very tasteful and there is some beautiful art on the walls, overall the standard throughout the house is excellent.
The size of the house was a surprise as it is very large and spacious, the photos do not do it justice, it is really a superb holiday home, we actually wished we lived there. The views are just amazing, you can see for miles. The sauna and hot tub were definitely a highlight of our holiday, we felt we could totally relax after the hectic Christmas we had.
We were lucky to have booked the house when the truffle festival was on and we were thrilled to be able to taste some delicious truffle treats at a very reasonable price, then we had a truffle dinner in a restaurant recommended by Katie which was the best meal we have ever eaten.
We will certainly rebook this house as it was a real pleasure to stay in such luxury at such a reasonable price. A big thanks to Katie and JeanEric for such a wonderful holiday home.

The views are superb and stretch for miles, when you are in the pool you feel as though you are floating in the clouds. Your house is very spacious and beautifully decorated. You can see that a lot of thought and effort has been put into making this a very comfortable and luxurious holiday home. The hot tub and sauna were really appreciated after our long days of walking and canoeing. The location of the house is ideal for shops, restaurants and the local attractions, you would find it difficult to find a better located house. Sarlat is a beautiful town with so many restaurants to choose from you are spoilt for choice.

- A security/damage deposit of £300 is required and will be returned within two weeks of departure.
- You can pay by bank transfer a 25% deposit is required to secure a booking.
