We had a great time at your lovely property. It is in a fantastic position, both in regards to where it lies in the town and also when considering the location of it in a national context. An area full of charm and interest that we enjoyed exploring a lot. Also the space of the house and garden weren’t to be sniffed at and we took full advantage of it, as I’m sure many of your guests do.

We have a fantastic time in Ronsenac and your lovely home. I would love to tell you that we visited lots of interesting places every day but what we enjoyed the most was just relaxing in your wonderful garden and as far as the kids were concerned the star of the show...the pool!!!
We arrived with two basic toe dippers and left with two kids that can swim like fish. Evenings were cooking on the BBQ almost every night (its amazing what you can cook on a BBQ when you have the time) Then sitting on the patio consuming the local wine, lots of!!!! The next best past time was the kids spotting the Coypu every day.....they even had names for them all and loved leaving apple trails at night.
We did visits a few local towns which were great and went to the medieval festival at Dignac on our first Sunday. It was a really good day and the procession of musicians and jugglers' through the town had the kids spell bound.
We also visited the start of stage 10 of "Le Tour" and again was a great experience just to soak up the atmosphere of such an iconic event.....even if its hard to see any actual racing but who cares about that.
We also had our evening walks around the village with a stop off at Jimmys!!
All in all we had the best of times relaxing, laughing and spending time just as a family, it these busy times it was just what the doctor ordered, we absolutely loved it. It has been many a year since Amanda has been able to chill out and read so many books on one holiday.
Thank you for letting us share your home for a little while. We will fill in your questionnaire and send on bank details tomorrow....

Had a wonderful stay, Le Moulin de l'Abbaye was very well equipped for all the family. The information we were sent prior to our holiday was outstanding, very accurate and full of personal touches from the owners which really enhanced our stay. The house and grounds were very well maintained. The garden and stream was beautiful, saw lots of wildlife. Lots of good local information, plenty of pretty places to visit even though at the time of year we visited a lot of places were closed, this didn't detract from our holiday just added to the tranquillity. The owners have been very friendly and responsive if we've had any enquiries. I would recommend this property to others and would like to return ourselves in the summer months so we can make use of the pool and enjoy this wonderful house and area again.Guest rating:
This was our second visit to Le Moulin de l'Abbaye with our family. We were a party of 6 adults and 2 children (aged 7 and 3) and the property was a very generous size. With the huge garden, terrace and pool it is a perfect place to relax. We didn't do a great deal of exploring the area but we hope to be back in the future to do this. The information provided by the owners is very comprehensive and there seems to be lots of interesting places to visit. The property was very clean and well maintained and is like home from home. We would highly recommend this property to anyone and hopefully be back soon.Guest rating:
Amazing and relaxing summer house"Le Moulin De L' Abbaye is an amazing, relaxing, wonderful and comfortable setting - these are just some of the words that describe our stay at such a great gite. The house was what we wanted within a village and countryside setting, all facilities and house were first class, the grounds, and swimming pool all made this a stunning and unmatchable place to stay. The location gives access to many surrounding picturesque places to eat, visit and explore with your kids, we thoroughly enjoyed our two weeks holiday here in July 2015. We happily recommend this house and yes we are returning next year "Guest rating:
We have had a fantastic holiday in this lovely village, weather glorious so tended to centre on the pool and garden, shopping in Villebois and visiting the wonderful market in Brantome. The house is so well equipped and we hope very much to return. August 2013

This is our second visit to Le Moulin - this time for two weeks - and we have been looking forward to it since 2012. Everything was just as we remembered (perfect). The weather has been consistently hot and we spent the first few days relaxing and enjoying what Le Moulin has to offer. Our most exciting discovery was Le Grand Etang at Lac Jemaye (nr Riberac) wonderful lake, beach, restaurants, play area and FREE kayaking and paddle boarding - a must visit. Visited Villebois Lavalette, Brantome - river jousting, Angouleme - walk round the city and visited the museum and Aubeterre - lovely restaurant - Brasserie de la Place. We have drunk far too much wine and eaten copious amounts of cheese but have had yet another fantastic experience. Thank you August 2013

We rented Le Moulin de l'Abbye in the Charente as a party of 8 ( 2 Families) When we arrived we found that property was exactly as described with everything we needed for a brilliant family holiday. The house was beautifully full of character and well furnished, cosy but cool in the heat of the day. The garden, pool and outside dining area were all lovely and made the holiday for us. There is a bar in the village, 100 m walk which does light meals and a large supermarket about 1 mile away. The local towns all have good restaurants but to be honest the house was so nice we stayed there most of the time and had a barbecue almost every evening.
Perfect Family Holiday and highly recommended.

Our stay was superb. Intensely relaxing, the location offers fantastic privacy in extensive and pretty gardens, accompanied by an excellent and essential pool which was very much in demand given the fantastic weather! Long lazy afternoons spent relaxing in the spacious gardens, having BBQs, watching the cute Coypu (like mini-otters) playing in the stream which goes around the perimeter of the garden and other wildlife flitting around. Coming from a city we were really struck by the sheer peacefulness of being in the middle of the countryside, only the sound of birds and crickets floating over us.
Nice to have a fully equipped kitchen, a home away from home, and with a great supermarket just around the corner, meant we could really indulge ourselves with loads of great meals, French cooking, cheeses and wines every night, or pop out to conveniently located restaurants nearby.
We were having quite a lazy holiday around the pool and garden, but on the couple of days we did want to do a day trip, there were loads and loads of interesting sights or fun activities to choose from within an hours drive, so plenty for those who want to do more sight seeing or have a more active holiday!
Wonderful place, we are definitely planning to go back soon!

The house is very, very well equipped, clean and spacious. The pool was an instant hit with the children, as were the Coypous in the stream. The property is very peaceful with lots of room for running around and playing games in the garden. The play area and tennis courts across the road were well used during our stay. The Super U in Villebois is very well stocked. Villebois itself is beautiful. We visited the chateau at La Rouchefoucauld which was lovely, especially the dressing up. The lake at Toubiers is great for exploring and the Friday morning in Brantome is well worth a visit. As were Lac Lavaurd and the river beach at Aubeterre. We had a lovely time!

We had a brilliant time while we were here and our only regret was that we hadn't booked for two weeks.
It was very private and peaceful apart from when the kids were jumping in the pool! We had planned to visit a few places but the weather and the pool meant we spent most days just in Le Moulin , swimming and playing with the outdoor games. The house itself is brilliant and has everything you might need. The village of Ronsenac is really small but Villebois Lavalette is only a 5 mins drive away where you can find all you need in the Super U supermarket.
I would highly recommend this gite to everyone.

Le Moulin is beautiful, the house, grounds and pool are superb. As we were only staying for a week, we didn't put to much pressure on ourselves to venture very far - why would you when you have all you need at Le Moulin! We did visit Villebois Lavalette, Aubeterre and Brantome which are all worth it and not too far.
The kids lived in the pool as have we, and waking up to sunny cool mornings is bliss. Most (make that every) evening we drank wine, ate barbecue and chilled out completely.
We have already booked next year - two weeks this time - and look forward to our return.

We stayed at Le Moulin de l'Abbaye for one week in August 2012. We were a party of 2 adults and 5 children (ages ranging from 6-14), we had a disabled child in our group.
The layout of the house worked perfectly for us, the weather was glorious and surrounding site seeing attractions were excellent. Nearby Super U was brilliant for all our needs.
Pool and grounds were stunning and beautifully maintained. Owners were easily accessible to answer questions which was also very important to us with our disabled requirements. The accommodation is comfortable, clean, convenient, well maintained, safe and more than accommodated all our needs.
We really want to return again next year which pretty much is the best compliment of all.

WHAT AN EXCELLENT PROPERTY!
What a pleasant surprise when we pulled into the drive of the property. It looks lovely on the website pictures but 100 times better in the sun. The weather was glorious. We took full advantage of the pool every day. We did venture out 1 morning to the Velorail at Confolens which was good fun then stopped off at the lovely town of Brantome on the way back. The property has everything you need, we stayed in and enjoyed BBQ's and a bottle or 3. What a lovely spacious and well equipped properly. Both the property and the area is lovely, we didn't want to come home and we wish we had booked 2 weeks. We will definitely look at going back again in the future. Four adults and four children.
