We had a great stay at 'La Maison des Rosiers' at the end of August/beginning of September. The space is wonderful, both inside and out with all the facilities we needed and more. Véronique and Nick were attentive, but not intrusive hosts, enabling us to have the peaceful, away from it all stay we were after. The lovely rural setting meant there were enjoyable walks starting from the door whilst nearby small towns provided the shops we needed.
Guest rating:

We have just finished a relaxing stay at Maison des Rosiers. The gite was very pleasant with lots of space for us as a family of four (two adults and two children). Inside the gite, the rooms are spacious with a large kitchen equipped with all the facilities and a cosy tv room to chill out in once the kids go to bed. The outside area is equally as impressive with an excellent pool, space for eating, relaxing and sunbathing. There are also plenty of outdoor games (table tennis, badminton, pétanque just to name a few) that kept us all entertained. We would love to come back one day, a superb stay at a hidden gem in the Charente.

We enjoyed a relaxing two week stay at the beautiful Maison des Rosiers, where we received a warm welcome from Véronique and Nick. It is the loveliest and most well equipped gite we have ever visited during our many visits to France. The delicious evening meal provided on the evening we arrived was a very welcome treat to start our holiday. The Gite is an oasis of comfort, calm and tranquility. Nick and Véronique were very helpful with everything, including restaurant booking and pizza orders! Our friend Fran, joined us for a week and we spent happy hours in the Salon de Jardin, relaxing by the pool and enjoying the garden. The Lavender, Russian Sage and Roses are amazing and fantastic for the bees! Many thanks for a lovely holiday Véronique & Nick!

We have enjoyed a wonderful two weeks at Maison des Rosiers and were made to feel especially welcome upon arrival with a superb evening meal provided by Veronique and Nick. There were thoughtful touches that helped us celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary.
The gîte and gardens are spacious, beautiful and quiet. The gîte is very comfortable and well stocked. There are games to keep you occupied in the garden, outside eating area with veranda, and pool where we spent most of our time.
We highly recommend a stay here for a family or just as a couple.Guest rating:
We had a wonderful time at your gite, and can easily say it is one of the cleanest and best looked after places we have ever stayed in over the last 10 years, a huge well done to you both as it must take a massive amount of effort on your part in very hot conditions.
Thanks again for a wonderful holiday.Guest rating:
Fabulous stay at Maison des Rosiers. Such a beautiful gite equipped with absolutely everything you would need. The pool and outside dining area is stunning and we spent most evenings barbecuing and enjoying the atmosphere Veronique and Nick have created. The surrounding area is beautiful with so much to do. We visited lots of markets that our hosts recommended and even had a tour of a vineyard on segways! Brilliant holiday!
Thank you so much to our hosts Veronique and Nick for making us feel so welcome and for all your help with suggestions and making bookings for us.Guest rating:
We had a wonderful weeks stay at Maison des Rosiers . The property has character but with all modern facilities, being extremely well equipped. We spent our time in the pool and visiting places nearby such as Brantôme, Jarnac and Saintes, which are in easy driving distance of St Laurent des Combes.
Nick and Veronique were very attentive, friendly and excellent hosts. I would recommend a stay here for both relaxation and exploring the area.Guest rating:
Our mixed age group family has just returned from a wonderful week here. The house is light and airy and well equipped. The large garden and pool are great for relaxing - playing table tennis/ badminton and boule or just enjoying some peace and quiet. We visited pretty villages and swam in a nearby lake - went to a market and visited Bordeaux- all easily accessible. Veronique and Nick’s attention to detail is exceptional. They were very helpful and friendly and couldn’t have done more to make our stay great. We will be back!!! Fiona Stephen and familyGuest rating:
Our week at the gite was excellent; all we needed to have a really relaxing time (and more!) was there for us. To have 5 different outside "domains" to enjoy was amazing, and the gite is very well designed and decorated, ample room for a family of 6 (all adults!). Nick and Véronique have anticipated everything you need for a great holiday, and we were well looked after. If you are interested in cycling take your bike (you can also hire for multiple days locally) because the roads around are easily accessible, good for short or long rides, great to cycle, quiet and safe, and the barn at the gite is ample and secure for storage. The dusk time with the church lit up was magical. Lovely place, we recommend it highly, we would happily go back again!.

We have just returned from a lovely week at Maison des Rosiers. The gite is truly beautiful-spacious enough for our party of 8 and thoughtfully equipped with everything needed to make it a relaxing stay. The accommodation is superb with ample room throughout and everything thought of - from a fully stocked kitchen to a huge selection of dvds and books and an amazing pool area and outside terrace complete with bbq and table tennis. The children had the best week enjoying the pool and treehouse and announced it was the best holiday ever! Thank you Nick and Veronique for being such welcoming and considerate hosts. We will return!Guest rating:
What a fantastic holiday! One of our favourites!
Such friendly hosts, beautiful gite and fabulous weather. We couldn't ask for more. As four adults we had the perfect amount of space inside, and lots of room in the pool. In fact, we couldn't think of one thing that could be improved!
Highly recommended and definitely one of our secret escapes.
We will return.Guest rating:
We have just spent a wonderful week at this beautiful gite. Veronique and Nick could not have been more welcoming. They sent very thoughtful communication before we arrived and were always happy to help with any advice needed throughout our stay. The gite itself was even more stunning than in the photos and was immaculately clean. It was well equipped with everything to make the week comfortable and we had been left a lovely array of items on arrival including fresh bread, wine and ice lollies for our children. There were plenty of games to keep our sons, aged between 9 and 6, constantly occupied including badminton, table tennis and toy archery. The pool area was equally beautifully maintained and we enjoyed hours by it in the sunshine. The surrounding area is full of picturesque countryside with fields of sunflowers. We particularly enjoyed visiting the nearby town of Aubeterre- sur-Dronne where we swam in the river, went kayaking and visited the under ground church. We would thoroughly recommend staying at Maison des Rosiers.

Stayed here for 2 weeks in August and had a thoroughly enjoyable time. Veronique and Nick are very helpful hosts and the gite accommodation is immaculate- probably the best we've experienced. It is well equipped - to the extent that large fans are provided in the three bedrooms and very comfortable. The pool and outdoor area are super and cleaned every day by Veronique and Nick. We were lucky with the weather but even if we hadn't been the TV room with its large collection of films and the selection of indoor games would have kept us amused. Thank you Veronique and Nick.Guest rating:
