Part of a 100 year old barn attached to the main house sympathetically converted in 2016 to a self contained 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom gite.
The property offers fully comprehensive self catering accommodation for 2 people.
- The main living space comprises lounge with U.K. Satellite TV, DVD player and wifi access, dining area with seating for 4 and includes a fully equipped kitchen with quality appliances.
- The bedroom (with views of the Pic du Midi) comprises a king size bed together with a wardrobe, chest of drawers & 2 bedside cabinets providing adequate storage space for clothing etc.

From the living area bi-fold doors (over 2 metres wide) lead onto a large wooden decked balcony with panoramic views over open rolling countryside. The balcony provides the perfect location for alfresco dining whether it be breakfast in the sun or sundowners on balmy evenings!
The balcony overlooks the 11 x 5 metre swimming pool (1.5 metre depth throughout) with acacia wood decking which provides ample space for relaxing and sunbathing. Adjacent to the pool is a canopy structure which provides shade, if desired. There are also other shady areas within the 1.6 acre garden to relax, the hammock below the balcony being one of them!
For the more active there are plenty of opportunities such as walking, cycling, white water rafting, hot air ballooning and, in season, skiing. Also, it is less than 1 hour from Toulouse and the Pyrenees mountains/Spanish border for those that want to explore the area.
Quiet semi-rural location 1 hour south west of Toulouse. Only 20 minutes from J21 off the A64 motorway which links Toulouse to Biarritz and the northern Spanish coast.
The property is situated on a ridge at 400 metres above sea level and enjoys an uninterrupted panoramic view, for almost 100 miles, of the Pyrenees.
A great location for nature lovers, bird watchers, photographers and artists. For those interested in history there are roman villas and pre-historic caves together with medieval villages such as Aurignac and St. Bertrand de Comminges.
our gite has been awarded '3 etoiles' status by the Comite Departmental du Tourisme - the highest star rating possible for a gite of its size.

The region in dominated by the huge Pyrenean mountain range which stretches from the Atlantic to Mediterranean coasts. Large rivers such as the Garonne and Lot flow through the region.
Although Toulouse is a bustling city, much of the region is rural with agriculture (including wine growing) predominating.
History and Pre-history abounds with cave paintings and roman villas aplenty. To the east of the region numerous Cathar castles from the 12th and 13th century can be visited.

We have just spent a fortnight in this lovely gite. The gite is clean, airy and like home from home. Paul and Rose are excellent hosts, providing a welcome pack of food & drink and being on hand for any questions regarding walks, what's on where etc. We ate out on the balcony for most of our meals which has a stunning panoramic view of the countryside. At the front of the drive there are fantastic views of the Alps. The pool is excellent with a superb covering to keep the water warm. If you like a peaceful, relaxing holiday with the options of going out walking or sightseeing (Spain is only an hour drive away), or just chilling by the pool, this is the place to be.Guest rating:
The accommodation is lovely really clean and very well equipped the owners Rose and Paul are great very welcoming with lots of ideas for visits, walks, places to eat and shop the pool is wonderful this was our second visit and we have already booked for the thirdGuest rating:
We have just had a wonderful week at 'Volets Verts'. The gite is very modern and extremely comfortable. The balcony is bigger than it looks in the photos with a sofa as well as table and chairs and has wonderful views over the countryside. We spent many hours just sitting watching the birds and breathing in the fresh air.The swimming pool looked amazing but the weather wasn't quite hot enough for us to brave it; with a water temperature of 27 C many hardier souls would have loved it! Paul and Rose were absolutely wonderful hosts and really helped us to get the most out of our holiday. They are very kind and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. They offered us use of their bikes, a ruck-sac and walking poles! Once we had chatted about the kind of things we wanted to do they had numerous suggestions for places to visit, walks and restaurants. No sooner had we mentioned a potential visit than they provided us with photocopied, annotated maps of where we were headed! One of our favourite visits was to les Jardins de la Poterie Hillen - one of the 'jardins remarquables de France'.Our favourite meal out was at L'Enclos in Cazeres where we went on our way back to the airport - we are still talking about the 'Bavarois de mangue '!Guest rating:
We had a lovely time, so relaxing especially by the pool or on the balcony. Paul and Rose were so helpful with ideas of places to go ,even gave us walking poles to climb the mountains. We would highly recommend the perfectly equiped Gite if you want to explore rural France or just chill in the sun by the pool.Guest rating:
We have just returned from a great week at Volets Verts. A beautiful gite with amazing views and everything that you need for a comfortable stay. The area is perfect for walking with numerous well marked trails around the town of Aurignac or more challenging walks a little further afield in the Pyrenees. Paul and Rose are the perfect hosts who are passionate about the area and devoted to making sure your stay is everything you want it to be. What more could you want!!Guest rating:
Rose and Paul are the perfect hosts and have provided an excellent holiday setting. The gite is comfortable and very well-equipped, beautifully sited overlooking the gorgeous countryside with sunset views to die for! The location is great for relaxation with a large garden and a gorgeous pool which you share with Rose and Paul, who prioritise their guests every time. There are lovely villages and small towns in easy distance for exploring and enjoying a coffee and pastries or beer. The local village of Aurignac has a picturesque and interesting historic area and a market on Saturdays. We didn't venture much further afield but the Pyrenees are in easy travelling distance and the amazing vista of the range from the whole area was one of the stunning aspects of the location. Rose and Paul provide the perfect balance between attention and privacy and were great at recommending things to do and places to see, checking out what our interests were and offering helpful suggestions. We would wholeheartedly recommend this gite to any couple who already love France or who want to try it out for the first time. You will not be disappointed!Guest rating:
This Gite is located in such a beautiful setting with mountains in one direction and the beautiful French countryside in the other. It's a clean well done gite that felt like home by the end and we didn't want to leave. The only thing better then the Gite was the hospitality given to us by Paul and Rose and if we asked about anything they'd give us the best spots and best ways to do it. This place was so relaxing that we have decided to book again for September.Guest rating:
Our trip to this part of France which we did not know, was made so much better than we could have dreamed with Paul and Rose giving us advise on where to go and what to see. The property lacked for nothing and was perfect, with our hosts leaving a starter pack of milk, bread etc. which meant we did not have to shop until the second day, and what views we had from the lounge and balcony. With the added bonus of the swimming pool our week's holiday could not have been improved. If Paul and Rose are not booked up next year then people will miss a wonderful location, charming hosts and a great holiday.

We visited Paul & Rose's newly created apartment in August. They were both extremely welcoming & Rose had kindly provided a " Welcome Pack of Provisions" which was much appreciated.
The apartment is spacious and well appointed, the balcony provided an extra pleasure perfect for our breakfasts & some evening meals, enabling us to absorb the stunning views.
The swimming pool is secluded & only shared with our friendly hosts. It's impossible not to realax in such a tranquil location. Just what we needed, we'll definately be back next year. Thank YouGuest rating:
