Gorgeous.
Situated 8Km North of the Bastide town of Lalinde which lies on the banks of the river Dordogne and is a 20 minute drive from Bergerac airport. La Petite Grange is ideally located in the small village of Pressignac-Vicq which is surrounded by woodland and forest walks. Peace and seclusion with your own private plunge pool can be enjoyed along with a very comfortable home from home interior which is beautifully furnished and equipped with everything you might need. Summer here starts early with fabulous Springtime in March, April and early May, followed by long hot summers and glorious, colourful Autumn weather.
Lalinde is a typical French Bastide town with its square, restaurants and small local shops. The colourful weekly market is on Thursday mornings and not to be missed, here you can purchase fresh local produce including cheeses, pate and wine. Lalinde also has a Mountain Bike Hire Centre, great for exploring the miles of woodland tracks. Canoe hire is readily available from various locations for exploring the Rivers Dordogne and Vezere.
The lovely old town of Bergerac is a 20 minutes drive to the West, also located on the banks of the river Dordogne, an important port during the 13th century when in 1254 Henry 111 of England gave the locals tax exemption the right of assembly and unhindered wine trade with Bordeaux. Today Bergerac is still famous for its vineyards such as Pecharment and Monbazillac.
To the East is the picturesque medieval town of Sarlat with it's 15th and 16th century houses built with golden stone and lauze tiles, a beautifully restored town with excellent restaurants in the main square. The drive to Sarlat follows the river with perfect places to stop for a picnic lunch and take time to be amazed at the sights of the Chateaux perched high above the river valley.
The Vezere valley is a 15 minute drive, famed for it's prehistoric sites and now a UNESCO world heritage site, the centre of these being Les Eyzies, where the first signs of human habitation in the Vezere valley date from around 400,000 years ago.

A dream setting for a perfect two weeks in September 2019. It is an ideal location for quiet road cycling, mountain biking, hiking, exploring iconic places of outstanding beauty and historical interest, and for just chilling out. We did it all! The cottage is fabulously presented in a shabby chic style, well suited to the location. It remained pleasantly cool inside even with temperatures outside exceeding 30 degrees in the shade. The garden offers comfy sunbathing and outdoor eating space, plus plenty of shade for when it heats up. The pool is an added bonus. Wendy and Merv are excellent hosts, equipping the cottage with everything we could possibly need for self catering, with the addition of chilled wine, home grown tomatoes, and plenty of candles. They are lovely couple, happy to provide local information and advice. Ian especially enjoyed the test drive on Merv’s lawnmower! I would definitely recommend La Petite Grange to any couple wanting a quiet rural holiday location. Diana & Ian, MalmesburyGuest rating:
Stayed for 3 weeks and it was wonderful. We felt at home as soon as we arrived. The Gite and it’s location are just perfect for a relaxing away from it all holiday with plenty of places to visit if you fancy a change of scenery. The owners Wendy and Merv are very friendly and helpful, Merv even lent me his vacuum so I could clean the inside of my car. We’ve booked to return for another 3 weeks at the end of July, can’t wait.Guest rating:
La Petite Grange is set in a lovely garden, with clever landscaping around both a pool area and a patio under an awning to provide much-needed shade. The peace and quiet are just what are needed for a truly relaxing break. The accommodation is perfect for this sort of holiday, with attention to detail in every room. The gite is equipped with everything you would need for a self-catering holiday. The gite is also surprisingly roomy, with plenty of space and areas to relax. The sitting room was particularly comfortable with really comfy chairs and sofa, an important aspect of any holiday after a day exploring or sunbathing!! Air-conditioning helps to keep cool when needed. The outside facilities are just perfect...the sunbathing area is suitably close to the plunge pool and we certainly enjoyed spending time here, cooling down after some sunbathing. The patio is ideal for breakfast and lunch under the awning, or just watching the world go by. Wendy and Mirv were on hand when we needed anything and they have lots of good ideas of places to visit and were keen to hear what adventures we had been on during out stay. They are excellent hosts and have thought of everything. We are already planning our next visit!!Guest rating:
We stayed here for 2 weeks at the beginning of July. We had a truly fabulous stay and our accommodation was brilliant. It was exceptionally peaceful, both at day and night and the location was superb. Wendy and Mirv, the owners, made us feel very welcome and were extremely informative and made suggestions on places to visit. As we are planning to make a permanent move to France, hopefully next year, they gave us great advice and lots of information on what it's like living in the Dordogne. Our accommodation had everything we needed and was spotlessly clean. This is definitely one of the nicest places we have stayed and would recommend it without hesitation. The pool was very welcoming and clean, especially on the hot days! We wish we could give it more than 5*! Mr & Mrs T. Condron - LiverpoolGuest rating:
