Two of us stayed in this house for 1 week in August 2019. We were so pleasantly surprised we could have stayed for a month. The house is 3 levels (so not good for aged people or with limited mobility), it was well furnished, bed are comfortable, kitchen is amazing and outdoor seating areas are very private. The house is situated on the edge of town but only a 5 minute walk to the rest of the village (which is beautiful) and easy access to the supermarket and the river for a stroll in the evening and drink overlooking the water. Jayne our host was available for anything we might need (which we didn't). I was so thrilled to be in a comfortable home and to be able to enjoy the village without feeling we were surrounded by other tourists. I would definitely recommend both this village as a place to visit and this accommodation.
Guest rating:
The lovingly restored La Belle Vue sits in a narrow lane, by the old ramparts, in one of the oldest and best-preserved medieval towns in France. As such it is afforded wonderful views of the towering limestone cliffs of the Gorges de Aveyron, yet is only a two-minute walk, through the winding narrow, cobbled streets and alleyways, to the centre of this delightful little town with its many bars, cafe's and restaurants. The solid, timber stable style front door opens directly into the well-equipped, roomy kitchen, with its large wooden table, which again opens out to a very private walled garden with outdoor furniture. We had many happy meals in this lovely area. Our favourite 'corner' of La Belle Vue was the balcony, which opened up off the cosy second-floor living room, resonant with the sound of the evening crickets and bathed in warm sunshine during the day with spectacular views of the gorges. A perfect place for a morning coffee or an evening glass of wine from the nearby Gaillac vineyards. A wonderful little haven to spend a summer holiday in, in this beautiful region of France.Guest rating:
