A restored farmhouse set in 2 acres of garden with a private heated pool (for the sole use of guests) and parking for several cars. There are four double bedrooms and two shower rooms. The house is set over 2.5 floors with oak furniture and leather sofas in the lounge. There is a further sofa in the second lounge/TV games room along with free WIFI. Accommodation comprises:
- Lounge/Dining area of about 60 square metres overlooking the pool with log burner and 40-inch flat screen TV with Free Sat (access to ITV, BBC, etc.), DVD and CD player and iPod docking station. The dining table seats 8 persons. There is also a fold away pool/snooker table.
- Fully equipped kitchen with Range Cooker, Microwave, Bosch Fridge Freezer, Dishwasher and Washing Machine, Coffee Machine.
- WC
- Bedroom 1 - double bed and en-suite shower room overlooking pool.
- Bedroom 2 - two single beds overlooking pool.
- Bedroom 3 - double bed overlooking garden
- Bedroom 4 - two single beds overlooking lane
- Bathroom 1 - Ensuite bathroom to bedroom (walk in shower)
- Bathroom 2 - Walk in shower in between Bedroom 3 and 4
Garden
The grassed and well-maintained garden has a 10 x 5-meter heated pool with safety alarm and also has a football goal, basketball net, rugby posts and 14 ft trampoline with a safety net for use. It has a shaded veranda with outdoor dining table seating up to 8 people. Weber barbecue. Many seated areas around the garden to allow relaxation for the whole family. Lighting around the garden allows for continued outdoor living well into the evening.

- Towels, pool towels and bed linen are included. Two hair dryers, iron and ironing board, first aid kit, travel cot (no bedding), and a cool box are available.

Carpe diem is located within the Regional National Park Perigord-Limousin and offers a wide range of activities for all the family.
These include Boules, Canoeing, Caving, Cycling, Fishing, Go Karting, Golf, Gourmet dining, Hiking, Horse Riding, Kayaking, Mountain Biking, Bird watching and Wildlife spotting, Photography, Sightseeing, Swimming, Tennis, Walking, Chateaux visiting, and Wine tasting at the many vineyards dotted around the region.
Or if the above seems too energetic you could simply relax by the private pool reading a good book.
The house is a short drive away from Saint Saud Lacoussiere which has its own bakery, Bar (Tabac), Supermarket, pharmacy and restaurant. In the opposite direction and a short journey you can reach St Pardoux-la- Riviere with similar amenities and a larger Supermarket.

- Brantôme: Tuesday and Friday mornings
- Périgueux: Wednesday and Saturday mornings
- Thiviers & Nontron: Tuesday and Saturday mornings.

How to get to Carpe Diem
By Car
About 7.5 - 8 hours drive with a couple of stops from Calais. Peage route = Calais - Rouen - Le Mans - Tours - Angouleme - Champs Romain (approx 500 miles). The tolls should be no more than 60 euros each way. Alternatively, you can go the Paris route, which is perhaps quicker, if you don't get stuck on the peripherique, which is the equivalent to M25.
By Air
The closest airport to Champs Romain is Limoges Airport (47 km). In the surrounding area are Angouleme Airport (48km) Bergerac Airport (81km) or Poitiers Airport (123km). Bordeaux airport is also approximately a two-hour drive.
By Train
TGV to Angouleme but would then need to hire car. Angouleme is approx 1 hour away.

We have just returned from a truly wonderful week at your villa. It is a beautiful, well equipped and homely house and the gardens and pool were perfect for our needs. The kids enjoyed all of your sports equipment while we relaxed around the pool. We would definitely be interested in booking to visit again next summer

Carpe Diem proved to be a wonderful location for our 3 generation family holiday and we have already rebooked for next year!
The house is spacious yet homely and the pool was warm and used several times each day (end May). There was more sporting/garden games equipment available than anywhere else we have stayed, and we felt little need to stray far from the property during our stay.
That said, there are a couple of nearby villages with bakeries and restaurants to explore and we loved canoeing on the river in Brantome too.

We have stayed at Carpe Diem twice (August 2017 and 2018) and we have booked for May 2020 - which says a lot. We have never stayed somewhere this many
times.It is a lovely house which is very well equipped with everything you need for a relaxing stay. It is perfect for young families or a group of adults.
The layout of the property is pretty much perfect with the outside eating area next to the kitchen which leads to the patio area which in turn is next to the pool. It is an exceptionally quiet area being at the end of a narrow country lane.This property has to be visited it has everything you need for a great holiday.

The property is just amazing and perfect for a large group the bedrooms were all a beautiful size and wonderfully appointed the lounge was AMAZING with the pool table and Chinese checkers keeping the kids entertained - the out side was my favourite with the wonderful pool and outdoors seating area just perfect.
The location was great to with so many wonderful place to visit - we will be back!

This was our 4th holiday at Carpe Diem and we have booked to go again next August - which says it all! It is a stunning farmhouse, which has been renovated to a really high standard. It is exceptionally well equipped and has everything you need. We have stayed there as a large group when there was plenty of space for everyone, and also as a family of 4. The garden is huge and there are lots to do (eg goal posts, badminton set, rope swing), and of course the beautiful swimming pool. The covered outside dining area is perfect for breakfast as well as barbecues in the evening, we also loved our evenings toasting marshmallows over the fire pit and looking at the stars, bliss! The house is in a quiet rural location but has easy access to lots of interesting towns, Brantome is our favourite - the canoeing made it a very amusing, and unforgettable, day! We really couldn't recommend Carpe Diem highly enough - it has everything you need for a fantastic holiday.

Just what the Doctor ordered!!!!! It was once again a wonderful holiday with friends in this smashing house. The weather being good obviously helped but apart from that everything was great and as it was our sixth visit which speaks for itself. Unfortunately, we are unable to return for another month!!!!!

Yet another superb trip...So pleased we were able to come back for a second time and for a longer period too. We got involved in a local pub quiz, not quite coming top though, relaxed even more by the pool, and came home feeling re-charged. A brilliant place to stay, couldn't recommend it high enough.

This was our fifth stay at this lovely house so that speaks for itself especially as we have already booked up to stay twice during 2015. The accommodation is spacious for up to 10 people without getting in each others way and the garden area is plentiful. The house is extremely well equipped and there are plenty of areas in which to sit in the garden both in the sun and shade. We used the swimming pool regularly and there are bikes to suit all ages with plenty of quiet lanes to explore. The area is very quiet and the nearest villages (2) are approximately 3 miles away where restaurants and supermarkets can be found. All in all a perfect place for a relaxing holiday.

Such a lovely setting - very peaceful, no traffic noise and with the garden being large there is plenty of room to be on your own if you want....the house was really spacious with every amenity you could wish for and the outdoor dining area fabulous for star-gazing in the evening whilst chatting and drinking. The pool was excellent and provided lots of fun plus relaxation. The area is so easy to explore too either walking, cycling or driving, with the local restaurants serving up beautiful food if you didn't want to stay in the kitchen. Even that wasn't a hardship at all with everything you need and more besides especially with the supermarkets and bakery close by. We enjoyed our stay so much we've booked for next June.

This holiday farmhouse is a dream destination set in idyllic countryside yet close enough to amenities ,walks cycle rides and of course swimming and chilling by delightful pool The accommodation is very pleasant with everything you could possibly want provided. Bedrooms and bathroom clean and well stocked with all you would need We had a great stay and cannot praise enough all the facilities.

Being a family of 5 with 3 teenage children, we had the opportunity to spend a week at the Carpe Diem. There was plenty to do including pleasant walks and then time spent enjoying the pool and many other activities. Days out were within a 20 to 30-minute drive away giving you everything you possibly want for an enjoyable and memorable holiday. So much so we are looking forward to returning next year.

Wow - from the moment you pull up at this lovely holiday home, you know you are in for a good time. The place is immaculate and set in lovely grounds which are both safe and fun to play in. The pool and surrounding area are one of my favourite places and certainly great to relax and sip wine whilst the children, both big and small play. Whoever restored this property really knew what they were doing and have maintained the charm of rural France whilst providing all the modern requirements for a perfect holiday. Overall it is one of the best properties we have ever stayed in whilst on holiday and I would recommend it to anyone.

Stayed in summer 2012 and 2013 gutted we can't get out in 2014. Me my wife two kids (boys) and in-laws. Loads of space, loads for the boys to do on a two-acre footie pitch. Pool lovely and clean. Farmhouse spacious and immaculate. Spent every evening chilling with a beer, BBQ on the go and sitting on patio whilst kids splashed in the pool. Very quiet surroundings and stacks to visit and explore. Supermarkets, local markets and restaurants all within a short drive. Highly recommended. Will be back soon.
