The villa is a single storey (145 m2) with enclosed grounds of approximately 1200 m2.
Accommodation comprises:
- An open plan living area consisting of kitchen and dining areas as well as a seating area with sofas and easy chairs and additional desk space. This provides spacious accommodation and opens out onto the terrace with its view of the back garden, the pool area and the mountains beyond. We are west facing and so it is a delight to sit on the terrace and watch the sun setting. We are often treated to dramatic sunsets.
- The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of pots and pans as well as food processor, toaster, coffee maker etc. There is tall fridge freezer.
- Two double bedrooms have ensuite showers and WC, fitted wardrobes and air conditioning. Bed size 162 x 201 cm (10 cm wider than king size)
- Two further bedrooms have fitted wardrobes. There are twin beds - one is stored under the other but when pulled out is the same height Each bed is 90 x 190 (standard single).
- Separate living room with air conditioning and TV. This is at the opposite end of the villa from the main living area and offers a cool place to sit in summer and of course those who want to watch TV can do so without disturbing others. We also have a variety of games and jigsaws as well as books including local guide books, maps of walks etc.
- Shower room with WC (9 m2). This was the original family bathroom and is therefore spacious with a walk in shower , toilet, fitted cupboards and washbasin, mirrored cabinet and towel rail.
- Separate WC with hand basin.
- A small utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer, additional fridge and sink. We find the additional fridge particularly useful in the summer when we mainly use it to store cold drinks.
St Siffret is a small, pretty village with ancient streets and restored houses. It even has 2 chateaux though neither is open to visitors. The villa is situated in a quiet residential area further up the hill from the old part of the village.
The Gard region has many attractions, most notably the delightful medieval town of Uzès, just 10 mins away with its fabulous Saturday market . In a competition for the best French market, lasting 4 months and with nearly 3 million votes, Uzès market came 4 th in the country.
Stalls spill out from La Place aux Herbes onto neighbouring streets. There are beautiful , colourful displays of regional products, fruit and vegetables, cheeses, olives, bread, flowers etc. In addition clothes, linens, jewellery, soap , herbs and spices , wine etc etc.
On Wednesday there is a smaller market, predominantly fresh food.
Uzès is a delight to wander round with its atmospheric streets, historic architecture, outdoor cafes, restaurants and shops.
We are also close to the World Heritage Site of The Pont du Gard which never fails to impress. On hot days kayaking on the Gard river, and going under the Pont du Gard is a pleasant way of passing a few hours.
Avignon and Nimes are only about 40 mins away. Nimes is famous for its Roman remains, particularly the well preserved amphitheatre and it has a new museum of Roman life.
Orange has a spectacular Roman theatre .
The Camargue is to the south, The Cevennes to the West, The Rhone valley to the north and Provence to the East. All these are very accessible.
However, there is plenty of interest in the surrounding villages and St Siffret.
Walkers will find plenty of signed footpaths, particularly pleasant early and late in the season when the weather is cooler.
There is a bar/restaurant, Le Baragnas, in the old part of the village.
The village shop is located a 12-minute walk away in the residential part of the village.

We have stayed at Les Volets Bleus , in June or September, for the last six years, in parties of 6-8 and had a fabulous time. The villa is extremely well appointed with 4 double bedrooms and plenty of bathrooms. The kitchen is well-equipped and the dining ares, both indoors and outdoors, are very spacious. The garden and pool area with lovely views over the hills make it easy to spend days relaxing under the apricot tree. The villa is well situated for sightseeing. Nearby the market town of Uzès, the Pont du Gard and the artists' enclave of St Quentin La Potèrie are particular local favourites of ours. There are plenty of good quality bistros and restaurants within easy reach. Further afield. Avignon, Nimes and Aigues Mortes are just a few of the wonderful historical and tourist centres to explore.Guest rating:
We found Les Volets Bleus a wonderful holiday location. The house is clean, comfortable and well equipped, with plenty of room and amenities for up to eight people. There is everything needed for indoor or al-fresco dining, by a large lawn complete with fig, apricot and pomegranate trees, and a very welcoming pool for a refreshing dip.
The location is perfect for exploring the surrounding area. St Siffret is a charming little village, with delightful walks in the countryside around. Nearby Uzes town has a bustling and animated market and a range of excellent restaurants. Avignon, Nimes and Arles, are all in easy reach, plus the unmissable Pont du Gard Roman aqueduct, prehistoric paintings at the Caverne du Pont d’Arc, to name but a few attractions. We have stayed here several times, and on each occasion, have found somewhere new and
exciting to visit, and several new gastronomic delights. In fact, we are hoping to go again this year!Guest rating:
We stayed in this lovely house in September 2016. The area is very peaceful so perfect for days when you just want to relax by the pool with a good book! The kitchen is well stocked with all the utensils you’ll need and the bathrooms are great. The bedrooms are also very comfortable. There’s a huge supermarket near by which made stocking up on everything needed for the week really easy. We spent most of our evenings eating outside on the patio but there are plenty of restaurants in nearby Uze if you want to venture out. We also took trips to go kayaking on the river and to wander around the town. All in all, a lovely stay!

We stayed here in September 2016. The house is well appointed and it really has the feeling of a French home - from- home. A shady outside terrace means you can eat your meals al fresco and watch a brilliant sunset from there in the evening. You have the stunning Pont de Gard a very short drive away and we loved the market town of Uzez which is near enough to visit a few times in a week. You should go on a Saturday if you can as That's the main market day. You can shop, eat and grab a coffee or a beer. We also took day trips to Avignon where you can cross the 'pont' from the song and Arles, where Van Gogh painted many of his masterpieces.Guest rating:
I had a really lovely weeks stay. There was plenty of space in the villa for me and my family and next year we are keen to return with my partners family also! The villa feels like a home, which is lovely, all on one level so great for kids and the elderly too. There is everything you need there to cook meals in and have long evenings outside in the warm drinking red wine!
The pool is great and again lots of space in the garden and outside area. I also really like the fact that the villa felt very private which is nice when there are children running around.
I loved uzes, it’s close by and such a pretty town with plenty to see and do! Lots of really nice restaurants and places to eat and have a drink.
I would highly recommend a holiday here! It’s peaceful, quiet, private but at the same time close to amenities if you need them.Guest rating:
