Les Bruyères is relaxing and well equipped, with an enclosed garden. The house has a large, through-dining/sitting room. In addition to the upstairs bedrooms, there is a comfortable single bed in an alcove downstairs, next to a shower room with WC, useful perhaps for an elderly or disabled person. The alcove has a door so it can be transformed into a separate room.
In the kitchen there's an induction hob, cooker and microwave. Equipment also includes a dishwasher, cafetières, wine rack plus plenty of pans, utensils, glasses, crockery and cutlery. Behind the kitchen, there's a storage room with a fridge freezer and washer dryer.
From the back of the kitchen the staircase ascends to a bathroom, separate WC and three bedrooms. The bathroom has a bath, with hand shower, a further shower cubicle and a wash hand basin.
The master bedroom has a bed more than 5ft wide; the two twins have full sized single beds.
The house is centrally heated, with extra radiators for chilly summer evenings, and all your energy, cleaning and laundry costs are included in the rental price.
You can receive English television (Freesat) only when the leaves have fallen from the trees, so bring your own DVDs to watch or choose from our selection during the summer months.
Outside the house there is a storage area where you will find garden furniture and barbecue. You can reorganise the space to make room for your bikes too.
Close by - within walking distance - are le Parc du Bois des Moutiers; le Manoir d'Ango; Braque stained glass windows at Varengeville church and la chapelle St Dominique; le musée Michel Ciry, le Phare d'Ailly; le sentier écologique and the Shamrock hydrangea collection.
A little further afield are the stunning scenery and abbeys of the Seine Valley; the many gardens and châteaux of Normandy (try Monet's house and garden at Giverny; the château de Miromesnil, birthplace of Guy de Maupassant, at Tourville-sur-Arques; le Clos du Coudray and les Jardins Agapanthe). At the Zoological park at Clères there are animals too - a great place for children, along with Estran Cité de la Mer, Artmazia, the buffalo centre at Muchedent, the Bayeux Tapestry, sea water swimming pool at Dieppe and loads more.
Rouen, the capital of Normandy, is 45 minutes away. Joan of Arc, France's national heroine and patron saint, was burned at the stake in the Old Market Square here and there is a commemorative church by the site. There's also the cathedral - made famous by Monet's paintings, the grand horloge and the old town, as well as amazing shops, restaurants, museums and galleries.
Honfleur, the beautiful seaside cradle of Impressionism, is well worth a visit. Fécamp, Etretat, Veules-les-Roses, St Valéry-en-Caux and Le Tréport are just some of the many pretty places along the coast. You can easily travel as far as Bayeux, Lisieux and the D-day Landing Beaches.
This part of Normandy is simply made for walking and cycling. Look out for the Avenues Vertes and enjoy the verdant countryside, spectacular views and friendly people.
Come and enjoy the tastes of Normandy: apples, cider and Calvados; Camembert and the other cheeses of the region; meat and poultry à la Normande or Dieppois; local fish; moules frites and wonderful sea food - Dieppe is famous for scallops.

How to get to Les Bruyères
You can travel many ways across the Channel to France, the Channel Tunnel: the cross-channel ferry companies from south coast terminals and Ireland, even flydrive.
We would be happy to recommend ferry crossing companies.
If you are over 60, you can receive a 20% discount on the DFDS Newhaven-Dieppe crossing simply by making a phone reservation on 0800 917 1201.
From Calais: A16 direction Rouen. Journey time - 2 hours. A28 is toll free. There are many ways to go:
Most direct is to exit at Junction 23 (Abbeville) and take the A28 towards Rouen. Come off at Junction 10 and take the D915 towards Dieppe. After 18km, turn left at the roundabout signed for Offranville and continue following signs to Offranville, then to Varengeville.
From Dieppe: Prettiest way is the coastal road - look out for the view as you come round the bend into Pourville-sur-Mer. Go into the centre of Dieppe and take the road signed to Pourville and Varengeville.
From Le Havre: Take the D925 towards Dieppe and follow the signs to Varengeville.
Driving into the village: Turn right at a shop called Lin et l'Autre into rue de l'Aumône. Continue straight on at a tiny crossroads and then the road curves round to the left. After just under half a mile you will arrive at the house. Turn right at the Les Bruyères sign into the little private road. If you go past the fire hydrant numbered 29, you have gone too far.
