La Laurencie is located near a small hamlet only 5 miles from Monpazier, one of France's most beautiful villages, a Bastide village in the Dordogne with history going back to the 13th century. It boasts one of the most beautifully maintained market squares in which there are cafés, bakeries, restaurants, shops and lots of markets and events. Monpazier is in the southern Dordogne, a region famous for its food, wine, caves, rivers and scenery. It is rightly well known as one of the most beautiful in France, enhanced by its medieval bastide towns and villages and fairytale châteaux rising from the mist of the River Dordogne.
There are many interesting towns and villages to visit - Beaumont, Issigeac, Villereal, Monflanquin, St Avit Senieur, Belves, Cadouin and of course Bergerac itself - all within each reach for day trips, either by car or on bikes! A little further away are Sarlat, Cahors, Perigueux, Villeneuve sur Lot, Eymet and Duras. The area is wonderfully equipped for outdoor activities - walking, cycling, horse riding, canoeing and golf. Or for those a bit less sporty, there are vineyards and wine tours, châteaux, pre-historic caves including the world famous Lascaux and gourmet restaurants to visit and enjoy.

We stayed in La Laurencie for a week with grand parents and our teenage daughters. The house was perfect for a multi generational stay with the grandparents downstairs in the bedroom with sink and loo nearby. The house was well equipped with everything you could need and spotlessly clean. The pool was the perfect temperature and kept the girls happy for hours. The covered terrace was perfect for a cool lunch and the patio was great for dinner. The area is beautifully quiet with pretty little villages nearby. There is lots to do in the area and beautiful countryside all around. A perfect holiday. Simon was always quick to answer any questions and a good communicator. I would love to stay again next year.Guest rating:
We have stayed twice, once with a couple of friends and once with our children. What a beautiful place! The house is full of character, and everything is very high quality – from the lovely crisp white bed linen to the well equipped kitchen and the gas barbecue on the terrace. We hired bikes and the kids loved cycling into Monpazier for the baguettes and croissants each morning.

Really beautiful property in a wonderful, peaceful setting, we will be back!
We had a wonderful week at La Laurencie and will definitely be returning! The beautiful house is very comfortable and clean and had everything we needed for our stay and all of really good quality. The pool is perfect. You cannot hear anything other than the birds and bees and occasionally the odd tractor working in the fields. We are keen cyclists and holiday in this area most years, the country roads are quiet and brilliant for cycling and the local Bastide towns are stunning. Simon has been really helpful in ensuring we had a great holiday including providing a well stocked welcome hamper on arrival.Guest rating:
The house is beautifully quiet. Lovely pool and terraces. And near to Monpazier.
The house is very comfortable with heated pool and two terraces - one is covered. It’s quiet and private, with nice views. It is near to Monpazier, a medieval village, with lots of shops and restaurants. Excellent!Guest rating:
We had a great time, taking it easy by the pool and lots of long meals on the terrace. The outside space is fantastic – there is a lovely terrace in front of the house where we had breakfast and dinner, and then when it was too hot to eat there at lunch time, there is a lovely covered terrace by the pool. There is lots to do in the area, and we took the opportunity to take the train to Bordeaux – a fantastic cosmopolitan city.

Wonderful villa in beautiful Dordogne
Secluded, yet within a short drive of the beautiful Monpazier, this villa has everything you need for a peaceful, relaxing holiday. The pool was a perfect size for our teenagers, the villa well equipped and a great base for exploring the area. We heartily recommend staying here and will look to return ourselves in the future.Guest rating:
Gorgeous
This house is beautifully decorated and has everything thoughtfully and intelligently organised for maximum comfort. A spotlessly clean and expertly maintained property. Total tranquility, yet a short drive from an exquisite Bastide town. We loved it and plan to book to return here when we next come to this region of France. Thank you for a wonderful week!Guest rating:
Lovely holiday house
Good secluded location with brilliant pool. Very well equipped and comfortable house. We had a great holiday.Guest rating:
Lovely
Great week in a lovely property. We had very hot weather for June and spent much of it in the pool, which was fabulously warm. The property is very private and secluded without being isolated. Beautiful relaxed Monpazier is a 5-mile bike ride away and we enjoyed cycling in for our shopping and a coffee in the square every morning. Very relaxing stay, with plenty to do in the surrounding area, or a variety of terraces to chill out on if you're feeling lazy. Would recommend, we hope to return.Guest rating:
Just as described - wonderful privacy.
Lovely property with excellent outdoor aspect and two outdoor seating and BBQ areas. Excellent pool with simple to operate instructions. Spacious inside, especially for just the two of us. Lots to see and do in the area including three excellent restaurants in nearby Monpazier. Managed three rounds of golf at three different courses, watched 'trotter racing', and listened to the UCLAN choir at nearby abbey. A lovely week with plenty of spells in the pool.Guest rating:
We had a wonderful time, thanks – you really do feel that you are away from it all when you are at La Laurencie. We enjoyed lots of walks - following chemins rurales through the woods – and cycle rides. We couldn’t believe how many beautiful little villages we stumbled across. We'll be back!

Superb, relaxing with great facilities
La Laurencie is the ideal venue for a relaxing family holiday. The house is beautifully equipped with everything that you would want and more to recharge the batteries. The pool area kept two active 14 year old girls amused when not sunning themselves. Monpazier is undoubtedly one of France's prettiest villages and the trip each morning gave me the excuse to collect fresh bread and croissants whilst enjoying a coffee or two in the square with my book as the village was waking up. Whilst about 5 miles away and mostly uphill my wife managed to run into Monpazier to meet me for an early coffee. Simon was very easy to deal with and always responded quickly to emails. Although we didn't need it it was comforting to know that there was also local help at hand. My wife and I have visited the Monpazier area many times in the past, although not for some years. It remains a great place for a break and this property is the perfect base for a holiday which included a days kayaking, typical local markets and great food as well as a days wine buying in the Beregerac area. I could not recommend it highly enough.Guest rating:
Peaceful setting, excellent villa/ farmhouse
The modern, clean, well equipped and comfortable farmhouse is in a perfect setting with the feeling of splendid isolation accessed via a tiny populated hamlet. Worthy of noting is that the property has the opportunity to receive the sun all day into the very late evening (9:30pm at height of summer) in various seating positions around the footprint of the house and land. The heated pool was a wonderful place to relax under the umbrella with a good book from the well stocked bookshelf. Surrounding villages very pretty such as Monpazier, St Avit S and Cadouin. Dordogne riverbank within 25 mins. Super food and wine available locally as one expects to find in France. You need a car to make the most of the geography. In error I packed 2 of the ref maps (apologies) helpfully available at the property...oops...so these are now in the post on their way back home... All in all the perfect week! Thank youGuest rating:
We loved this place – it is an oasis of calm and peace. We came for a week and enjoyed great weather - swam every day, played lots of tennis in nearby Monpazier (a beautiful little town) and had a few rounds of golf on some excellent courses nearby.
Guest rating:
We have been to La Laurencie twice - once in the summer when we enjoyed the swimming and sunbathing in the lovely peace and quiet, and once at New Year when we had a lovely cosy time eating and drinking around the wood burning stove, and going for nice walks on the bright sunny days we were lucky enough to have.
