Villa with magnificent sea views, private pool, air conditioning and just 10 minutes’ walk from a pebble beach in Eze sur Mer at the heart of the French Riviera between Nice and Monaco.
Nestled on the rocks just below the perched medieval village of Eze sur Mer and ten minutes by foot from the nearest beach, Villa du Midi is located between glamourous Monaco and glitzy Nice. This traditional Cote d’Azur villa boasts outstanding views of the Mediterranean and an attractive sun-drenched pool area.
With incredible views and private pool this holiday villa is perfect for a relaxing break, making the most of the terraces for outdoor eating or simply enjoying a cold drink whilst gazing out to sea.
The villa is air conditioned (except in one bedroom located at the back of the property which is relatively cool anyway) and has double glazing, electric blinds and mosquito nets throughout.
The beautiful little village of Eze sur Mer is a 30-minute uphill walk from the villa. Perched on a rocky peak overlooking the sea the effort is well rewarded with some exceptional views over the coast. Villa du Midi is also handily located for visiting local towns, villages and beaches of the Cote d’Azur with Nice, Monaco, Menton and the Italian border are all under 45 minutes’ drive.

The Three Corniches - When in Eze it is virtually inevitable that you will drive along one of the famous three Corniches (Basse, Moyenne and Grande). These virtually parallel, cliff-hugging roads twist and turn their way eastwards from Nice past Eze, towards Monaco and the Italian border, offering fabulous views over the Riviera coastline and Mediterranean Sea. The spectacular Grande Corniche was built by Napoleon along the line of a famous Roman road. The Moyenne Corniche has featured in many film shoots down the years. The lower Basse Corniche links coastal towns and, like the higher routes, can become congested in the high season.
St Jean Cap Ferrat (5km) - The best beaches in St Jean Cap Ferrat are the Passable and Paloma beaches. One of the top tourist attractions on the Riviera is the villa and gardens of Ephrussi de Rothschild located on the St Jean Cap Ferrat peninsula. This magnificent property is filled with a collection of fine art, antique furniture and porcelain. It offers a rare glimpse of how the ‘other half’ live on this secluded and exclusive headland.
Villefranche Sur Mer (7km) - Tucked away between Nice and Eze, Villefranche sur Mer has arguably one of the most beautiful harbours on the Mediterranean. Dotted around the area are luxurious residences where millionaires from all over the world enjoy spending their holiday. The port, fortress and the old town with its colourful houses are frequented by locals, tourists a well as the rich and famous.
Monaco (8km) - Monaco is a small and independent principality sandwiched between France and Italy on the Mediterranean coast. It seems like there is always an event happening in Monaco. These include the Monte Carlo Tennis Masters in April, the Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix in May, concerts at the Prince’s Palace throughout the summer and the Yacht Show in September. Throughout the year you can visit the world-famous Monte Carlo Casino, which generates much of Monaco’s wealth, or enjoy a night out at one of the trendy clubs such as the famous Jimmy’z or La Rascasse.
Nice (12km) - Glamourous and lively seaside city with a wide range of activities on offer from shopping in Nice’s chic pedestrian precinct, to wandering around the old town with its small shops, busy bars, restaurants and its famous market. For those interested in history there is also plenty to do such as visiting the magnificent Russian Cathedral, Roman remains of Cimiez where a superb jazz festival takes place in July. There are also a number of museums to discover (Matisse, Chagall, Palais Lascaris, Art Museum MAMAC and many others). Why not go to the Parc Phoenix, a huge botanical greenhouse garden and zoo. In actual fact it is one of the largest in Europe with six different tropical climates and thousands of plants to discover? Nice’s latest addition is the brand-new Promenade du Paillon, a huge green zone covering twelve hectares located in the heart of Nice with plants, trees, fountains and play areas. Nice has so much to offer so it is tricky narrowing it down but if you fancy an overview of Nice and see it as shown so often on photos then make your way to Mont Boron mountain which offers spectacular views to the west over Nice harbour and the whole bay of Nice which is magnificent by day or by night when it is all lit up. To the east you will also have great vistas of the St Jean Cap Ferrat peninsula and Monaco. There is a wide range of water sports in Nice and nearby coastal towns such as diving, parasailing, kayaks, stand-up paddle boarding, water skiing, inflatable riding, wake boarding and the latest craze of flyboarding. Why not hire bikes to ride along the Promenade des Anglais, or why not try rollerblade instead whilst enjoying the views of the bay and discover Nice in a brand-new way?
Menton (25km) - The picturesque French border town of Menton has an Italian feel. Famous for its citrus fruit, the town hosts an annual lemon festival and has links with many well-known artists including Jean Cocteau. It is just a short trip from here into Italy and the neighbouring town of Ventimiglia.
Ventimiglia (30km) - This is the first Italian town past the border with its Roman remains and very popular weekly market every Friday and well worth a visit.
Jardins Exotique d’Eze (10km) - Perched high above the sea, the panoramic views from the garden are truly exceptional and most certainly one of the most spectacular views of the Cote d’Azur.
Monaco Oceanographic Museum(9km) - Set in a remarkable position on the edge of a cliff, this world-renowned museum was founded by Prince Albert I and its director for over thirty years was Jacques Cousteau. The museum has an astonishing ninety tanks with hundreds of Mediterranean and tropical species, a 6m deep lagoon with sharks and various marine predators and an impressive whale skeleton room.
