This holiday rental house has a lovely feel. It is spacious and easily accommodates 8 people, with everything just where you need it to be – the kitchen leads out to the garden terrace, and the private pool can be seen from the kitchen and lounge area so you can easily keep your eye on the kids. St Marcel Gite has climate control – so can be cool in summer and warm in winter. This combined with its top rated level of comfort make it a perfect place for people wanting to explore the Occitanie in winter.
You enter the gite through the front door onto a stone flagged floor. Off the hall to your right is
- A utility room with loo and shower
- A small sitting/TV room with a bed settee, so it can be used for those with limited mobility as a bedroom with shower/loo next it
- Continue through to the well equipped and newly installed kitchen with fridge, cooker and hob, dishwasher and breakfast bar. To the L shape part of the room is a large and elegant dining area with table and seating for 8 – 10.
- From the kitchen, doors lead out into the pretty walled garden with its 8 x 4 m swimming pool, a sitting area, and table and chairs providing dining for 8 under the large sun umbrella.
From the ground floor wooden stairs lead to the first floor, which has:
- Four good sized double bedrooms, one with twin beds. Bedrooms one and two have comfortable double beds and stunning views of the olive groves beyond. Bedrooms three and four are spacious and have views into the village. One has twin beds, one has a double bed.
- A large newly installed family bathroom with excellent shower and bath, basin and loo.
This is a very chic and lovely gite to spend time in and its situation in the village of St Marcel, close to the city of Narbonne, makes it a great holiday base from which to explore the area.
A pretty four bedroom holiday rental house with private pool in the traditional French village of St Marcel sur Aude in the Occitanie region of the South of France.
The village of St Marcel sur Aude has an excellent restaurant, a pizza place, a café bar, one of the best boulangeries in the area, supermarkets, a tabac, and a wine cave. It also has a little local farm shop selling the very best seasonal vegetables, including lots of varieties of tomatoes, peppers, lettuce, onions, and peaches, nectarines and apricots, all grown within a couple of miles.
St Marcel Gite is 20 minutes from the beaches of the mediterranean coast, and ten minutes from the stunning Corbieres. It is a 2 minute drive from the famous Canal du Midi and Le Somail, and 15 minutes from the lovely city of Narbonne with is famous food market and towering cathedral. Highly recommended.
