The Gites - all our gites have been redecorated during 2021.
We were awarded 3 stars from the tourist board this year.
The 6 Gites are purpose-built and restored using traditional materials. The accommodation is situated within a private courtyard, with a separate parking area. Each Gite has its own garden, with an Outback BBQ, dining area and garden furniture. The large swimming pool comprises a paddling pool (25msq) with a depth of 40cm waterfalling into a large pool (75msq) with a shallow end of 1m and a deep end of 2m. The pool is situated on the edge of the Adour valley with spectacular views of the mountains. The grounds include an ancient chapel, moat & woodlands to explore.
Gite 1 – Le Pigionaire - private terrace at the rear of gite, amongst the vines, a real suntrap!

Gite 2 – Le Hibou - our largets gite with private views of fields to the front of the property

- In total – 110 square metres (approx 1200 square feet). This Gite is huge, sleeping 8 people & has plenty of space for additional beds if required. It has private gardens to the front of the property, with a terrace overlooking the vines.
Gite 3 – La Grange - adjoining door can be unlocked to gite 4 Le Chai ideal for 2 family wishing to holiday together

- Each gite has its own garden area, with ‘Outback’ gas BBQ, dining area & garden furniture – guests are welcome to explore the five acres of grounds, including the surrounding woods.
- The Gites are child friendly, a cot, pram, carry cot, high chair & plenty of toys, puzzles and games are all available on request.
- Each gite is equipped with a television and DVD as well as satellite TV, with English Freeview channels available. A selection of both English & French DVD’s are also available on request.
- Internet access is also available to customers.
- Table Tennis, Badminton and a children’s play area are available to kids of all ages!
- Linen is provided, at no extra charge, and the price per week includes all utility (electricity, gas, water) charges.
- Pets welcome – by arrangement.

Close to the market towns of Plaisance du Gers, Vic en Bigorre, Maubourguet and Aire sur l’Adour visitors are spoilt for choice when looking for quality regional produce.
In addition to the Madiran Appellation, the areas around Madiran include the wine growing regions of St Mont, Juracon and the Bearn. In addition, within easy reach, to the north is the Armagnac region and some of the most charming towns in South West France.
For those interested in exploring the area, Le Prielle is within easy reach of the Pyrenees mountains, which offer a wide variety of activities, and the French Atlantic coast and the Cote d’Argent.

How to get to Le Prielle
Nearest airports
- Pau Pyrenees- 45 mins.
- Bordeaux Merignac, Toulouse Blagnac, Biarritz – 2 hours.
- Tarbes-Lourdes – 1 hour.
By car
- From Bordeaux - Follow the A62 towards Toulouse and then the A65 towards Pau. Leave the A65 at Aire sur l’Adour. Once at Aire sur l’Adour take the D935 towards Tarbes. Approx 10 km south of Riscle on the D935 you will come to Chateau Montus on your right hand side. Take the first turning right onto the D58, signposted Madiran, and continue to the top of hill. At the crossroads at the top of the hill turn left onto the D365 towards Soublecause. You will see small wooden signs, with a white “Le Prielle” directing you to the property. Follow the D365 and after approx 1km take the fourth left turn onto the Chemin de Qulay. Follow Chemin de Qulay until the road forks to the left, follow the road to the left onto Chemin de Prielle.
- From Tarbes - Follow the main road D935 from Tarbes towards Bordeaux. Approx 10 KM north of Maubourguet, and signposted to Madiran, turn left onto the D48. Pass Chateau Hechac & continue to the restaurant “La Colline” take the right opposite the restuarant towards Soublecause & Castelneau Riviere-Basse, this is the D365. You will see small wooden signs, with a white “Le Prielle” directing you to the property. Take the third turning right, at the second small cross-roads, onto Chemin de Qulay and at the next fork turn left onto Chemin de Prielle.
- From Pau - Take the N134 north out of Pau for approx 30KM until you reach Garlin. At Garlin turn right and follow the road into the village until you reach a mini roundabout. Turn left at the roundabout and follow the D16 towards a T-junction at Diusse. Turn left and then first right, following the signs to Madiran, onto the D205. Follow the D205 and then the D317 towards Aydie and then take the D548 until you reach a T-junction with the D48. Turn right towards Madiran. Drive through Madiran and take the first turning left after you have passed the sports hall, this is the Chemin de Qulay. Follow the road until you reach the top of the hill where the road bears right. You will see small wooden signs, with a white “Le Prielle” directing you to the property. Follow the road right until you reach a crossroads. Go straight on at the crossroads and continue on Chemin de Qulay until the road forks left onto the Chemin de Prielle.

- A deposit for breakages is required, and is fully refunded, providing the Gite & all properties are returned in the same condition as provided.
- Gites should be returned clean & tidy.
- The fridge, cooker, microwave & BBQ and bathrooms must thoroughly cleaned. All floors should be swept & mopped prior to departure. A surcharge, of 100€ per Gite, will be taken out of the deposit; to cover our costs of cleaning; should the Gite NOT be returned in the same clean condition.
- An optional cost; by pre-arrangement; for us to clean on your departure is available at 75€.
