Portsmouth is one of the larger channel ports and is extremely well connected for travellers coming from the south, Midlands and London. There are good rail links the port is easily accessed by car on a direct motorway route using the M3 and then the M27.

The ferry terminal at Portsmouth has been refurbished to an extremely high standard and now offers a great range of facilities including a café and coffee lounge, comfortable seating, a shop for all those last minute essentials and a bureau de change.

If you are planning on spending some time in Portsmouth there is plenty to see and do. There is a rich Maritime culture so it is worth taking a trip to the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. There is also a great deal of literary culture here and you can visit the Dickens Birthplace Museum.
