East of Lyon and south of Geneva, Aix les Bains is a spa town which also offers skiing, watersports and many other activities.
Aix-les-Bains is a spa town in eastern France, near the Lac du Bourget, and 9 km by rail north of Chambéry. It is flanked by the Alps and the Jura mountains.
The hot sulfur springs have temperatures ranging from 43 to 45 °C and are still frequented, attracting thousands of visitors per year. They are used for drinking as well as for hydrotherapy.
Aix-les-Bains is at the heart of the Savoie Olympic region, located on the edge of the Le Bourget lake, the largest natural lake in France. This freshwater sea is home to around fifty different varieties of fish. The lake is linked to the Rhône via the Savière Canal and many water sports such as swimming, diving and sailing, are available - the water reaches 25°C in summer.
Mont Revard dominates the town and offers a panoramic view of Mont Blanc. With marked paths it is available to cross-country skiers, runners, walkers and cyclists.

Fig, almond, wig sumac, pistachio and Judas trees, bay laurel, white jasmine and banana trees can also be found in this area.
