A relaxing place for all seasons, La Petite Auberge is a charmingly converted Perigordine farm, set in lovely rolling countryside, offering two, 2 bedroom Gites, a one bedroom Gite and a studio Gite. The studio Gite comfortably sleeps two. There are a further six bedrooms in the Auberge.

The property stands on a chalk outcrop on the edge of an ancient river valley, and has one and a half acres of mature gardens set out with swimming pool, sun terraces and shady areas. There is a further four acres for strolling and playing in, together with a small lake, for guests to fish in for the resident population of perch.

The Auberge is well known for its warm welcome, tranquil setting and friendly atmosphere. For many years, it has been recommended in Fodor’s France, the Guide du Routard and Charming Small Hotels guide to France.

La Poulailler

La Poulailler is an independent Gite, which originally was the farm’s chicken house, but has now been tastefully converted into a delightful Gite! It has two terraces, which face southwest and east, so that guests can eat meals either in the sun or the shade. The view from the Gite looks over the ancient river valley.

The gite sleeps four people and accommodation comprises of:

• Two bedrooms (one double, one twin)
• A shower room with basin and bidet.
• A separate WC
• The comfortably furnished living/kitchen area forms an “L” shape and opens onto both terraces.

Additional Information

All gites and studio are furnished and equipped to a high standard. Kitchens have cooker, microwave, toaster, coffee machine and fridge. In addition, La Poulailler and La Ferme also have dishwashers and washing machines. Guests in the Studio and Petite Maison Gites have access to a large chest freezer and washing machines situated in the Auberge.

Gas, electricity and heating are included in the summer tariffs. A full set of bed linen, towels, tea towels and a tablecloth are provided. Towels for use in the pool can be provided for a small additional fee.

Each Gite comes equipped with garden furniture and BBQ. The 1.5 acres of mature gardens immediately surrounding the Auberge include a 10m x 5m swimming pool, which is fenced inline with current AFNOR Regulations, a giant chest set, a boules pitch, badminton area and table tennis.

In addition to books in each Gite, there is a large selection of English books in the Auberge, for use by the guests.

About the location

Situated on the border of the Dordogne with the Lot-et-Garonne, it is only 18kms south of the historic town of Bergerac, and 4kms from the picturesque bastide town of Eymet. It is equidistant from St Emillion and Sarlat (50kms). The famous Pecharmant vineyards are only 25 minutes away, and the glorious Monbazillac vineyards are even closer! Communications are excellent. One of the major “Green” routes from Northern Europe through to Spain is just 4Kms away.

How to get here

The International airport and mainline TGV railway station at Bordeaux are about 1.5 to 2 hours away. Bergerac airport now has regular flights for many UK airports e.g. Stansted, Bristol, Southampton, Birmingham etc, and is only 25 minutes drive from the Auberge.

For those wishing to drive, the journey from the Brittany and Normandy ports takes between 6 to 10 hours.
