The completely renovated 1850's Chateau de Villars  - a luxury Maison d'Hote for Bed & Breakfast with heated pool and extensive beautiful gardens.  The Trincou Summer House for self catering holidays is nestled in the Chateau's park.  'Les Corgis' is the Chateau's luxury studio apartment in the Carriage House.  And for luxury self-catering, our 18th century village house,  'Les Sabots at Chateau de Villars' is now available in Rue du Moulin - stunningly modernised but in keeping with the period, spacious and charming, with its rustic beamed ceilings, sun terrace and private garden.

Chateau de Villars is your 'Home from Home' for Rest, Relaxation and Rejuvenation!  Leave the city noise and the busy roads behind and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the French countryside, with splendid walks right outside the Chateau's gates. The Chateau's elegant dining room and bar are open to all guests, with a specialty in Gluten Free and other special diets.

The Trincou Summer House comprises:

  • Kitchen / living room - open plan room with breakfast table, oven, and four burner gas hob, fridge, dishwasher, ceiling fan. There is a ceiling fan, DVD player with access to Chateau's library of DVD's. The kitchen is fully equipped.  There is a Bose Sound system for your IPOD.  A Nespresso coffee maker is also made available.
  • There is a washing machine and dryer
  • Bedroom One - The 'Dronne' bedroom is beautifully decorated and has two double beds.  The bedroom has ample storage for your clothes (drawers and hanging space), as well as a newly renovated en suite bathroom with large shower, heated towel rail and separate WC
  • Bedroom Two - The 'Cole' bedroom is also beautifully decorated and has a queen size four poster bed with a separate sitting room with a sofa that will convert to two single beds (during August there are some weeks when children are welcome). This bedroom has ample storage for your clothes (drawers and hanging space), as well as a newly renovated en suite bathroom with shower, heated towel rail and separate WC

Large rustic porch/deck with sitting and dining areas overlooking Chateau's park and with flower garden in front.  The perfect place to relax and enjoy the tranquillity of the Chateau's grounds - and the perfect place for night time dining outside under the chandelier

Being at Chateau Villars in Trincou cottage was the best of all worlds. the juxtaposition of the tiny quiet town to the Chateau and all that it offers was the perfect way to absorb the wonders of French life. Staying in the cottage gave us  the privacy we wanted while having the opportunity for sociability as well. Perfectly appointed with all the comforts of home, and spacious enough with its two separate suites, we had plenty  of room to share with our daughter and son-in-law, all cooking together the fruits of our market day finds.

At the same time, we had at our finger tips all the resources of our ever willing to please hosts Kevin and Bill. All the amenities offered at the chateau suited our family perfectly---walking, hiking, biking, swimming, cooking, and dabbling in journal sketching and painting under the tutelage of genius  in-house artist  Jane Smithers. From our vantage point on the marvellous outdoor space of the porch we saw first hand what it takes to make a place like the Chateau Villars so special----Kevin and Bill, perpetual motion all hours of the day and night, and it showed!

Our stay at Chateau de Villars has to rate as one of our top and most memorable holidays. From the minute we arrived the holiday was perfect; it truly is a captivating place to stay. The Summer House was close enough to the chateau to be able to participate in cocktails in the evenings under a starry sky! The accommodation is first rate, being spacious and with quality furnishings. Our daughter adored the pool and still talks about the fun she had and the friends she made. Kevin and Bill are to be praised for providing such quality holidays and for being such great friends. The food, the wine, the weather and the surroundings all make for a fabulous holiday.

We have stayed at the Summer Cottage two years in a row and will be returning this coming year. Chateau Villars is the quintessentially idyllic French get away.  Sitting at the end of a chestnut tree lined drive, the summerhouse over looks a beautifully restored Chateau and several acres of meadow surrounded by a small brook.  There are no sounds of modern life to distract you, allowing you to immerse yourself in the tranquillity of the French countryside. The Cottage and Chateau are attractively appointed with every necessity at your fingertips.  The hosts are extremely welcoming and attentive.  Bill and Kevin were quick to accommodate our requests and made time to answer our questions about the region.  Bill and Kevin are knowledgeable, friendly and never missed an opportunity to make our stay as enjoyable as possible.  From our lovely hosts to their three little Corgi dogs, Chateau Villars exudes "bonhomie"!

Our stay at Trincou Cottage was just wonderful - a delightful cottage surrounded by lovely gardens. Kevin & Bill are the most pleasant hosts, nothing is too much trouble. Unfortunately due to the timing of our trip, the Chateau itself was closed for the Autumn/Winter break, as dinner in the dining room complete with chandelier & more especially Bill's cooking would be been a special 'treat'. Maybe next 'visit'!!

This was holiday we'll remember for a long time. A beautiful spot in a beautiful part of the world. We enjoyed the peace that came with being nestled within the idyllic grounds of the Chateau, close to a lovely pool and a most friendly and caring Chateau team (including two corgis, three cats and some hens). We treated ourselves to dinner on the Chateau terrace on our final night and were given 5 Star service... the food, ambiance and company was delightful. In fact, it was so good we spent more and more time at our charming 'home' as the week went on. An extra special experience.

The two bedroom suites in the Trincou Summer House (separated by the living room and kitchen area) are each beautifully decorated with original art and soothing colours.  One suite has a queen size four poster bed, the other has two double beds. Each suite has a newly renovated bathroom with shower, walk in hanging space and separate toilet; duvets, blankets, ample storage.

The kitchen is modern and well equipped, and looks out on the Chateau's decorative kitchen garden, from which, during the season, you may pick from the extensive produce for your own kitchen!  The living room is open plan to the kitchen with comfortable seating and ample space for dining.

The covered terrace is magical for dining - or for relaxing outside in the quiet and peace, overlooking the Chateau's grounds.  A fire pit under the Catalpa tree, with its stunning lanterns, surrounded by the flowering garden, is perfect for the cool of some evenings. And the gas BBQ allows for simple dining in rural France!

  The Chateau has its own Boules pitch - and in late August you can also enter Villars' annual Boules competition, which is played all over the village
