Outside your villa is a super sunny terrace with table and chairs, a perfect place to unwind at the end of a hard days exploring or sunbathing. Also a great place for breakfast, wander 5 minutes up the road and collect fresh bread and croissants from ‘Sonia’s’ the local epicerie.

The pool is in a quiet setting, secluded and with a pool house and substantial barbeque for those great al fresco suppers. 

This really is a great place to unwind and to discover ‘The real France’.

About St Pons De Mauchiens in Hérault, Languedoc Roussillon

The local village is St Pons de Mauchiens. It is a delightful village between Montpellier and Beziers. It has a general provisions shop, a super bar/bistro and post office all within 5 minutes walk. There are medieval ramparts, a large park with tennis courts and childrens play area and great walks from the village out into the country-side.

Less than two minutes drive (30 minutes walk) takes you to St Pargoire another village with a several good restaurants, a bar, two bakeries, supermarket, chemist, and a really good butcher.

Just ten minutes drive away is Pezenas a very pretty medieval town with an abundance of shops, cafes and restaurants. The centre is full of buildings dating back to the 16th & 17th centuries. There is also an excellent market on Saturday which provides an ideal opportunity to stock up on the wonderful regional delicacies, fresh salads and vegetables, meats, cheeses, seafood and of course the local wine. Take a stroll through the old town with its unique craft and clothes shops and finally stop at one (or two) of the many bars or bistros in the 'Place de 14th Juillet'.

You are perfectly placed for the Mediterranean; the nearest beaches can be reached in just 20 minutes.  Close by is the holiday resort of Cap d'Agde. It has some 14 kilometres of fine beaches and many attractions for the children like 'Toonland' and the famous 'Aqualand ' with its giant flumes, water slides and wave machine as well as a super 'tots area' for the very young.
 
As well as beaches, there are beautiful lakes, mountains and gorges within one hours drive. The area has large numbers of medieval towns and villages to visit including Pezenas, St Guilhem-le-Desert and the Cite of Carcassonne. Just over an hours drive will take you to the heart of 'Cathar' country with its imposing castles and monastries such as Montsegur and Queribus.

Plenty of activities are to be found near to us including golf, horse Riding, sailing, fishing and tennis. For the more adventurous the Spanish border can be reached in about 90 minutes and a further hour takes you to Barcelona.
 
Villa St Pons will appeal to families or couples looking to relax in a friendly village environment with a high standard of accommodation and good facilities close by.

How To Get To St Pons De Mauchiens in Hérault, South of France and the Riviera

Villa St Pons lies some 20 minutes from the A9 autoroute (junction 34), 10 minutes from the A75 autoroutes (junction 59) and is within about an hours drive of the airports at Montpellier (Ryanair and B.A) Carcassonne, Nimes and Perpignan (all served by airlines such as flybe, easyjet and Ryanair).
