Attractive Self-Catering Gite in Provence, France

The Jas de Manon is an attractive well-equipped cottage in the grounds of our Provence home, secluded from the main house, with its own garden and enjoying unrestricted use of our large pool .

Situated in the foothills of the Haut Var, Salernes is an ideal centre for walking and for exploring the medieval villages in the area. It also provides all the necessary shops and services for day-to-day living.  Not to be missed are the Gorges du Verdon and Lac Ste Croix, just 30 mintes away, lavender fields and ancient abbeys, and opportunities to wine and dine in restaurants ranging from the simple to the  sophisticated. Alternatively you can laze by the pool with a view of distant hills and a good book.  

Holiday Accommodation at Jas de Manon

Jas de Manon is a modernized and well-equipped  shepherd's cottage, secluded from the main house, with its own garden, covered patio and sunning terrace.  A large pool with views to wooded hills is shared with the owners (once a day swimmers)

The Jas de Manon has a  spacious studio layout with a separate utility room. All English language and other free-to-air TV stations from the Astra satellite are available. French TV is available from a terrestrial aerial.

Both the kitchen area and the bathroom (newly re-fitted) are finished with local Salernes tiles.

About Salernes in Var, Provence - Cote d'Azur

Secluded in the grounds of our Provence home, the Jas de Manon is 1 km from the village of Salernes, and 18 kms from the regional centre of Draguignan. A choice of supermarkets, local shops and a bi-weekly market provide a wide choice for local shopping. A broad range of restaurants offering menus with simple provençale fare to Michelin recognised cuisine will satisfy all tastes  The sea is 50kms to the south (a tedious journey in high summer) but the large and beautiful Lac Ste Croix and the Gorges du Verdon are only 30 minutes to the north.

We are 30 minutes from the A8 at Le Muy (Draguignan exit, # 36) and 50 minutes from the Brignoles exit (#35).

There is a local bus service with a bus stop nearby, but the service is very limited.

How To Get To Salernes in Var, South of France and the Riviera

From Toulon/Hyères Airport (about 1hr):  follow A570 and then A57 north to join N7. Continue east to Vidauban. Turn left in village centre and follow signs for Lorgues and then to Salernes. 

From Nice Airport (about 90 mins):  follow autoroute A8 west to Le Muy exit (#36), then Draguignan and Flayosc to Salernes.

From Marseille Airport (about 1hr 45mis):  follow autoroute north to Aix en Provence, then east on A8 and exit at Brignoles (#35). Cross back under A8 to Le Val, Montfort, Cotignac, Sillans la Cascade and Salernes.

From Paris/Dijon: Exit A8 at Brignoles and follow Marseille Airport route

Cottage guests ae welcome to use the boules pitch adjacent to the pool. 

The Jas de Manon is secluded and overlooks its own garden and our olive grove making it suitable for gaining that all-over tan if that's a holiday objective!

The pool is shared with the owners: there are no restrictions on swimming time and visitors are also welcome to use the pool area for sunning and relaxation. There are shade trees in both the cottage garden and the pool area.
