Beautifully Restored Gites with Heated Pool

This attractive collection of gîtes is situated in the small country hamlet of St Simon De Pellouaille only 2 km from the local village of Tesson, 15km from the Roman city of Saintes, and 20 km from the stylish coastal resort of Royan.

The gîtes are arranged around the owners Charentaise barn conversion and have been tastefully restored from adjoining barns and workers cottages. Each gite has it's own individual character and all have been renovated to a high standard, retaining original fireplaces, wooden beams and stonewalls where possible. They are all comfortably furnished with a blend of traditional and contemporary furniture, cool tiled floors at ground level and parquet floors in the bedrooms.

We are well situated being only 10 minutes from junction 36 of the autoroute. The atlantic beaches of Meschers and St George De Didonne are 25 minutes away along with Cognac and Pons.

We have a very relaxed approach with our guests and will endeavour to provide you with a warm welcome and good company during your stay in the Charente-Maritime.

Holiday Accommodation at Fire

The occupancies shown are ideal based on the number of bedrooms, but can be increased by the provision of sofa beds at an extra charge.

All the gites have modern conveniences including gas or electric ovens and hobs, microwaves, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, TV, VCR, DVD and CD system. Some also have satellite TV. Garden furniture, parasol and barbecue are also provided.

The large floodlight pool measures 14 x 6 m has roman steps at one end and is surrounded by hardwood decking. There is an ample selection of furniture for sunbathing and relaxing. The pool house also contains washing machines for the use of guests.

The garden has a selection of swings/slides, large trampoline and sandpit. We also have a good selection of indoor and outdoor games based in the barn next to the pool including table tennis, table football, badminton and boules.

Cot, high chair, bicycle seat, baby bath are provided free, so you can rent 300m from our other baby equipment.

Accommodation of Fire

Fire has been restored from a large barn adjacent to the pool area.

Ground floor

  • Kitchen / living / dining room - spacious open plan living/dining area with fully fitted kitchen
  • WC  -  and washbasin
  • Bedroom 1 - Master bedroom is to the rear of the property with a private view to the garden.

A grand staircase leads to a galleried landing

First floor

  • Bedroom 2 - with double bed and ensuite WC, shower and washbasin
  • Bedroom 3 - is a single room with bunk beds.  The ensuite has a WC, shower and washbasin

  • Tesson : is only 2 minutes in the car or (for the energetic) 10 minutes by bike where you will find a post office, boulangerie, restaurant, local grocery store, pharmacy and boucherie.

Additional price information

Lettings are from Saturday (4.00 pm) to Saturday (10.00 am).

Towels are not provided. Please bring your own.

Prices are for the maximum occupancy shown in the table. Sofa beds can be arranged for an extra charge for additional persons.

July and August are fortnightly bookings only.

For bookings made outside the above dates please contact the owners.

Booking procedure:

  • Call or e-mail us to check availability. If agreed in principle we will take provisional booking and reserve the accommodation.
  • We will send you a booking form for you to return with deposit ( 25% of total cost or full cost if less than 8 weeks before start date).
  • Paiement in euros only with the charges to you
  • When received we will acknowledge with receipt.
  • Full payment is required 8 weeks before date of arrival. Deposits are non-returnable.
  • We request a returnable damage deposit of €250 on arrival.
