The grounds have fantastic views, particularly from the private heated swimming pool and terrace, over the surrounding fields and countryside. The interior of the holiday property is extremely spacious, with a large lounge, homely kitchen diner and comfortable bedrooms.

Le Papillon is nestled in the beautiful hills of the department of the Lot, 3kms from the village of Salviac where you will find several bars/restaurants, general shops, a depot de pain, a bank, a church and just outside of the village there is a small supermarket. Cazals is approximately 7 kms by car, another charming village with a boulangerie, mini market, more general shops and a swimming lake. The main medieval market town of Gourdon is just 15 minutes away. It is a vibrant town, full of shops, supermarkets, restaurants and pavement cafes.
About the Lot
The River Dordogne just passes through the northern tip of the Lot department and this is a department that has also become very popular with visitors, the Lot valley in particular. The department boasts one of France’s major tourist attractions, the village of Rocamadour, perched precariously on a steep cliff face overlooking the valley of the Ouysse. Other pretty towns and villages include Saint Cirq Lapopie, Carennac, Autoire and Loubressac.
Like the Dordogne, the department has a number of spectacular underground caves, including Le Gouffre de Padirac, La Grotte de Cougnac, Domme, Le Gouffre de Proumeyssac and the spectacular Lascaux 4.
Both the Dordogne and the Lot are famous for its gourmet delights, notably Paté de Foie Gras, Magret de Canard and Confit de Canard (duck), Walnuts and Truffles.

How to get to Le Papillon
By Plane:
- Bergerac: Closest airport to most of our houses. Ryanair flies in from London Stansted, East Midlands, Bristol and Liverpool. Jet2 flies from Manchester, Birmingham and Leeds Bradford. Between May and September British Airways flies into Bergerac from London City Airport three times a week.
- Brive-la-Gaillarde: Ryanair fly here from London Stansted as do City Jet from London City airport.
- Limoges: A good airport serviced by Ryanair. Approx. 2 hours on the A20 to the Valley of the Dordogne.
- Toulouse and Bordeaux: Serviced by British Airways, Easy Jet and Jet 2. Easy motorway access to the Lot & Dordogne.
By Car: - Driving from Calais, Caen, Le Havre and Eurotunnel takes approx 8-10 hours to reach the South West of France.
