Mas D'en Gariste is a luxuriously restored 18th. century farmhouse, full of charm and character, nestled amongst peach orchards and cherry groves. It is situated in a tranquil hamlet in the heart of breathtaking countryside, yet only a few minutes from the "chic" historic market town of Thuir.

The garden approx. 1 acre, formerly a kiwi fruit farm divides into 3 areas. The first contains a very necessary shaded area, in which there is a small flower garden with a "conversational bench" and a table and chairs suitable for aperitifs.

The second part of the garden houses a large private swimming pool (10 by 5m’s) which is fully enclosed,  has lockable gates, making it safe for families with young children. The pool is fully maintained for your enjoyment. The pool is surrounded by a patio and lawned area ensuring that there is sufficient space for sunbathing and complete relaxation. Sunbeds are provided and there is a poolside shower.

The third part of the garden has a large games field fully equipped for football, volleyball, badmington, bowls and table tennis.Something for all the family.

There are two sets of double doors in this room, the first lead to a balcony at the rear of the house where there is a spectacular view of Mt. Canigou and the surrounding peach orchards.
A further set of double doors lead to the dining terrace containing a large dining table and a cushioned iron sofa, which is perfect to relax on and gaze at the stars on balmy summer evenings.

The final door from the sitting room opens to a second staircase leading to a small landing on the second floor. From this landing there are three further rooms.

About the location

The sun kissed Mediterranean Beaches, cosmopolitan Perpignan, Spain and the Pyrenees Mountains are all within 30 minutes drive. The winter ski resorts are just one hour away.

We have taken our main family holiday at MDG for the past 5 years a total of 10 weeks in total and have already reserved for 2012. This however will be our final stay at this fantastic property as we have now purchased our own holiday home just 5 minutes drive away. The only problem being that our children do not want to stay at the property we have just bought they want us to reserve Gariste in 2013.

Mas Den Gariste and its location is perfect for a family holiday. The Gecko Restaurant (absolutely first class) and Eric's bakery are both within a 5 minute walk. The hosts are very helpful and their knowledge of local attractions ensure you have a superb holiday.

The farmhouse was as expected full of charm and character in a very peaceful location. The pool was very private and the games field was brilliant to keep the kids occupied. We had a brilliant holiday.

My wife and I and our 4 children had a wonderful holiday at the property Mas Den Gariste. The property is full of character and the location very peaceful. We spent most of the holiday enjoying the sun while enjoying the pool and games field. We will be booking again in 2012.
