House & Windmill with Stunning Views on the Countryside & Estuary with Pool

Le Moulin is set on a hill topped by a windmill (18th century) with a panoramic view of the countryside and the Gironde estuary (10kms).  The property is reached by a country lane (“cul de sac”) amongst the vineyards, which leads to the nearest road 200m away.

The house is 200 years old and is about 240m2. It has been renovated in the original style and is fully furnished.  It is set in approximately 10 000m2 of lawns and has a private, swimming pool.  (12 x 6 meters, 2.5m deep at one end).

  • Fully newly (2012) equipped kitchen/dining room, seating 6 (with fridge, freezer, cooker, oven, microwave, dishwasher) 
  • A very large sitting room with fireplace, old wood beams and exposed stone walls, sofa bed, armchairs, a dining area with a table 12 persons and chairs  
  • 2 very large double bedrooms (with closets) renovated in 2012
  • 1 twin bedroom (with closet)
  • 1 bathroom and 1 new shower room (2012)
  • 2 separate toilets  
  • Hall

First floor

  • 1 Double bedroom (renovated in 2012)
  • 1 Twin bedroom
  • A TV room

Baby bed available on request.

Outside

The large garden and the pool, overlooking the Gironde estuary are for the exclusive use of the property.

There is a large terrace (70m2) outside the kitchen, with garden furniture, and a well-tended garden with shady trees. (Light at night).

About Semoussac in Charente-Maritime, Poitou Charentes

The house is five minutes outside the village of Mirambeau with its lovely castle overlooking the Gironde estuary. Local shops include a supermarket, "boulangerie patisserie", butcher, tobacconist, hairdresser, local bars and restaurants.

Within 20 minutes drive are the small picturesque ports of Maubert and Mortagne sur Gironde, with their cafés and restaurants. Less than 15 minutes drive away is Jonzac with 'Les Antilles de Jonzac', a swimming and spa resort with casino.

There are superb Roman churches to visit at Talmont, St Fort S/Gironde, etc and the Roman town of Saintes is approx. 40km away.

The beautiful port of La Rochelle is approximately 100km away and Cognac, with its cognac houses of Hennessy, Martell and Courvoisier etc., is 45km away.

There are local vineyards and fine Bordeaux châteaux of the Médoc, Côte de Bourg, Côte de Blaye and St Emilion. Médoc is accessible by ferry from Blaye or Royan.

The Cottage cannot be rented separately from the main house. If you wish to rent the cottage as well as the main house just add 800 €/week to the main house price.
