The Domaine de Bellegarde is surrounded by 2.6 hectares of peaceful wooded parklands with century old trees and picturesque gardens. The property is located in the village of Soustons which is bordered on one side by the Atlantic Ocean with an incredible 200km stretch of golden sandy beaches and on the other side by a fresh water lake (5km x 2km) for sailing, windsurfing, kayaking and swimming. The largest pine forest in Europe surrounds Soustons village with numerous cycle trails and walking paths leading to the lakes and beaches.

On the grounds of the property there is a lovely 15m x 7m heated outdoor swimming pool with a poolside terrace (perfect for alfresco dining), BBQ / outdoor cooking facilities, an all weather tennis court and a croquet lawn. The extensive gardens and terraces are perfect for outdoor entertaining and there is plenty of space for parking.

The cost of your holiday includes the following:

• Daily luxury breakfast (Cooked English & Continental breakfasts) served on the poolside terrace, in the grand dining room or in the privacy of your own room.
• Daily afternoon tea with a selection of cakes / muffins / biscuits, tea, coffee, hot chocolate & juices.
• Three lunches:
  1. A gourmet BBQ served on the poolside terrace; wine/beer/soft drinks included
  2. A 3-course lunch served on the poolside terrace; wine/beer/soft drinks included
  3. A gourmet picnic lunch.
• Three gastronomic four-course evening meals with complimentary regional wine served either inside in the grand dining room or alfresco-style, on the poolside terrace. A-la-carte wine list will also be available.
• Free use of sporting equipment including tennis, table-tennis, badminton, croquet, boules, football, volleyball and Frisbee (mountain bikes available for a small daily charge).
• Drinks service by the pool

Structuring the meals in this way will allow you four evenings to sample some of the finest restaurants of the region, many of which specialize in fresh seafood and the fantastic local produce on offer in the region. We would be happy to make recommendations on some of the best places to dine.

Staff will be on-hand to entertain where necessary with plenty of activities and games including surfing, tennis, beach games and mountain biking. Some activities may incur an additional cost. We will happily arrange daily activities on your behalf including golf on some of the best courses in the world, surf school, sailing, kayaking, cycling trips, go-Karting and more. There is plenty to do in the region!  The beautiful countryside boasts glorious chateaux, charismatic small towns and sumptuous vineyards with their exquisite wines. Of course, at any time you can enjoy a game of tennis or croquet or you may simply prefer to relax in the sunshine by the pool with a glass of champagne or a good book!

About the location

South of Bordeaux begins the region of Les Landes. It feels like another world with the coast stretching virtually uninterrupted from the Gironde estuary all the way down to Soustons, Hossegor and Cap Breton before reaching the foothills of the Pyrenees and Basque country. It is remarkably unspoilt, open and natural. The coast is dominated by long stretches of sand washed by broad Atlantic rollers; in all there is more than 220km of coast-line from the Gironde estuary down to the border with Spain with a total of 55 supervised beaches.

Taking your own car to France offers you the ultimate freedom and flexibility. From the start of your holiday to the end, you can go where you like, when you like. We will happily provide you with clear directions to the property (distance from Cherbourg/ Roscoff or Le Havre to Soustons is approximately 800km).
