Aou Carde is situated in the heart of the Gascon countryside. It stands in an elevated position on the edge of a hamlet surrounded by fields of maize and sunflowers with stunning views of the Pyrenees.

Supermarkets and restaurants are 10 minutes drive away in Masseube. There are five charming gites converted from the original farm buildings, each has their own patios and two have south-facing balconies. The grounds extend to one and a half acres with an orchard, lawns and a well-established and fascinating pond.

Aou Carde provides excellent facilities for families, friends and couples, with its fantastic swimming pool, paddling pool, well-equipped games room and play area. A warm welcome awaits you in this tranquil country setting; it is an ideal place for nature-lovers, cyclists and walkers as well as those who just want to relax.

The Gers is an unspoilt area of rural France with a timeless quality of life, there is little traffic so driving is a joy amidst the beautiful ever-changing scenery. Historic towns and villages with their vibrant colourful markets are only a short car journey away and the Pyrenees with breath-taking views and interesting walks beckon in the distance just over an hour away.

• Large swimming pool (10m by 6.25m.depth is from 1m to 2m) surrounded by secure enclosure (wall/fence). Within this sun-loungers and umbrellas are provided on the plage and grassy area.
• Toddlers’ pool (30cm deep) ideal for very young children.
• Wifi, internet and office facilities.
• Games room is well equipped with pool table, table football, skittles and darts plus a variety of boxed games and toys.
• Library and lots of tourist information.
• Table Tennis.
• Small football net.Plenty of room for Boules.
• Badminton net and racquets provided in the grounds.
• Cot, high chair, buggy and safety gates available.
• Washing Machine/tumble drier (small charge).
• Iron and ironing board.

Aou Carde is ideal for families wishing to holiday together but in separate accommodation. Reductions given for multiple bookings.

Accommodation detail

L’Etable, originally the stables for the farmhouse, provides accommodation for 4 people and an extra child bed can be provided on request. The upstairs living area is light and airy with double aspect windows and the added bonus of a balcony. Downstairs there are two bedrooms and a shower room accessed from both rooms.

• Open plan living area with cathedral ceiling and exposed beams. French windows lead from the lounge area, with English T.V., video/DVD and Hi-Fi, to the south-facing integral balcony with its views across the garden and pond to the Pyrenees. An ideal place for breakfast. The well-equipped kitchen has cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave and toaster as well as a table and chairs.

About the location

• 5 minutes from the boulangerie and restaurant in Viozan.
• 10 minutes from supermarkets, shops and restaurant in Masseube.
• 20 minutes from historic bastide town of Mirande with its traditional Monday market and country and western festival.
• 30 minutes from Auch the capital of the Gers with its labyrinth of narrow streets and magnificent cathedral. Don’t miss D’Artagnon’s statue and the famous grand steps!
• 45 minutes from Marciac with its world famous jazz festival in August.
• 45 minutes from Vic-Fezenzac which has a Tempo-Latino festival and interesting night markets.
• 60 minutes from Condom with its cathedral and Armagnac museum plus boat trips on the River Baise.
• 90 minutes from Toulouse, Pau and Lourdes airports.
• 90 minutes from Pyrenees National Park and ski runs.
• Lourdes – the world famous religious site is just over an hour way.
• The Atlantic Coast at Biarittz/St Jean de Luz is within easy reach. (two and a quarter hours).
• Carcassonne is a wonderful day out (two and a quarter hours).

How to get here

Nearest airports: Toulouse, Pau and Lourdes (90 minutes), Carcassonne and Biarritz (2-2.5hrs), Bordeaux and Bergerac (2.5 - 3hrs).

Nearest railway stations: Tarbes (TGV) is 1hour Auch (for Toulouse) is 30 minutes.
