Charming Burgundian cottage in the village of Ancy-Le-Franc, near Chablis, with its magnificent Italian Renaissance Château. The property has been newly converted and is ideal for a relaxing holiday in this breathtaking region.

The property has been very tastefully restored by the owners and you will be charmed by its very French style and atmosphere. A door leads into the living and dining area with tiled flooring. Open plan kitchen with bar and stools and is fully equipped. The dining area and lounge are furnished in the traditional Burgundian style, and the double sofa bed converts into a double bed. The bedroom leads off the dining area and there is a separate shower room and separate toilet next to the bedroom.
Both the dining area and lounge lead onto the private garden with terrace and lawn, ideal for dining out of doors and for sunbathing. The car can be parked in the driveway of the garden.
High chair and cot are available on request, free of charge. Garden table and chairs are provided as well as deck chairs and parasol and BBQ.
Burgundy is famous throughout the world for its wines and the choice of itineraries and means of transport could hardly be greater; country roads for walkers and cyclists, navigable waterways. Sublime regional cooking and the finest vintage wines will be on hand to greet you.
There is a constant stream of festivals throughout the year in Burgundy, the choice is yours. Ancy-Le-Franc is situated in the valley of the River Armançon and it boasts proudly of its Italian Renaissance Chateau, dating from the second half of the 16th century.
Visit La Faiencerie, its beautiful Lavoir, all within minutes walk from the property. Go for a stroll by the Burgundian canal and enjoy the natural environment.
The property is just 20 min drive from the famous Chablis wine growing area and 1 ½ hours drive from Beaune, the capital of Burgundy wines. Try La route des Grands Crus, from Dijon this route will take you through villages whose names are known and revered throughout the world, i.e. Chambolle-Musigny, Vougeot, Vosne-Ramanée and so many others.
The region has a rich historic and architectural inheritance. Château de Tanlay, 10 min drive away is famous for its gallery in trompe l'oeil. The medieval village of Noyers, 15 min drive away, is famous for its steep tiled roofs and beautiful half timbered and arcaded houses. The famous Abbey de Fontenay, 30 min drive away, is UNESCO World Heritage listed. The medieval village of Flavigny-sur-Ozerain, which is just a 35 min drive away, owes its fame to its production of sweets called 'anis de Flavigny' (aniseed balls) and of course the film 'Chocolat' was filmed here. Dijon only 1 hr 15 min drive is the art centre of exceptional richness.

From Calais take the A 26/ E 17 to Reims and Troyes, then head west back to Troyes on the A5, taking exit 21 and head on to the D444 direction Tonnerre via Chaource.
At Tonnerre, follow the road through the town and head south on the D905 direction Montbard.
At Ancy le franc, drive to the end of the main street, pass the bank credit agricole on your left, Le Gite is three houses away on your left at number 11 rue du collège.
