Traditional Stone Built Provençal Villa,Heated Pool

This attractive traditional stone built villa nestles in the valley below the lovely village of Fayence in the heart of Provence, SE France. The house has the advantage of coolness from the thick stone walls in the summer, combined with modern appointments and facilities. Relax in the covered outdoor kitchen / dining area, with built-in barbecue, stone sink and fridge, overlooking the large and inviting pool.

  • Adjoining kitchen - well equipped with built-in oven, 2nd oven, gas hob, large fridge and dishwasher.
  • Hall / Cloakroom with Dell PC and 8mbps broadband
  • Bedroom 1 - queen size bed, with doors leading to sun terrace
  • Bedroom 2 - with queen size bed leading to
  • Bathroom 2 - ensuite, Fired Earth tiles throughout with shower, WC, butler's sink, and washing machine
  • Bedroom 3 -children's room with 2 bunk beds, a double "day" bed and a small (up to 5) child's single bed.

  • Broadband - Connect to France Telecom's 8mbps broadband service  - rental is inclusive of unlimited email/internet usage.

Outside

  • Outdoor dining area - leading from the living room - a perfect spot for breakfast under a striped canopy.
  • Outdoor kitchen/living area - covered with a vaulted roof (with 2 large fans), this is where you live in the summer, close to the built-in barbecue, stone sink and beer / wine fridge, and overlooking the pool.  Dinner table seats 8 with optional additional table for further 6
  • Large heated pool (11 x 6m) mosaic tiled pool and patio surround with sunloungers, umbrellas and tables heated by very efficient Canadian heat pump.
  • Garden - about ½ an acre of grassed/treed area with hammocks
  • Parking - there is sufficient parking space for a number of cars.

About Fayence in Var, Provence - Cote d'Azur

Only 40 minutes from Nice airport and yet deep in the heart of the Var. Fayence is a beautiful village away from the crowds of the coast where you can relax or be as active as you like. There are many local attractions including:

  • Hill top medieval/Roman villages - Fayence is one of a line of villages - Seillans, Fayence, Tourettes, Callian and Montouroux. A little further a field is Mons and Bargemon. Each village has its own distinct identity from the pristine Seillans to the hustle and bustle of Fayence market on a Saturday morning.
  • Gliding - learn to glide at the gliding club - or just go up for an hour for the experience.
  • Lac St. Cassien - stunning lake with water sports - eat at one of the many restaurants around the lake, after a swim in the cool fresh water (10 mins).
  • Local Restaurants - these are many and varied from a snack in a local café to the full Michelin * feast at the Casteleras
  • Gorge du Verdon - deepest gorge in Europe, plunges 700m in places. Spectacular area for walking, touring, watersports (white water rafting, canoeing, kayaking, etc.) - 1 hour to gorge, full day tour around.
  • Cannes/Antibes - the glamorous 'La Croisette' waterfront of marina of Cannes. Luxury yachts in Antibes' Port Vauban harbour and ancient sea town of tremendous character. Marineland sealife centre - 30 and 45 mins respectively.
  • St. Tropez - palatial yachts, nightlife, chic boutiques, charming old quarter, beautiful beaches and coastal walks - 1 hour, very busy July/Aug.
  • Eze/Villefranche - fortified village of Eze atop a pinnacle, hundreds of metres above the sea. Unparalleled views of Cote d'Azur and charming old villages. Attractive harbour town of Villefranche with picturesque quayside and citadelle - 1 hour.
  • Monaco - grand hotels and casino, port of Monaco, Palais du Prince and old quarter, Musee Oceanographique, Jardin Exotique - 1hour 15mins
  • Grasse/Mougins - the world's 'Capital of Perfume', Grasse has three great perfumeries (Molinard, Galimard, Fragonard), each with guided visits combining factory, elegant houses and gardens. Mougins is a very popular dining location and has interesting cobbled lanes and old houses - 30 mins.
  • Italy - about 90 minutes away, go to the famous market at Vintemillia and pick up a "designer" hand bag (or two!)

How To Get To Fayence in Var, South of France and the Riviera

Fayence is situated 15Km inland between Grasse and Draginian, North of St Raphael. Approximate driving times are as follows:

Additional price information

Saturday - Saturday rental (depart before noon, arrive after 4 pm)

A non-refundable booking deposit of 25% is required to confirm a reservation. The balance is payable 4 weeks prior to holiday date, together with a damage deposit of £250. The damage deposit is refundable at the end of the holiday period following an inspection of the property.

Towels and linen are included.

We do strongly recommend that travel insurance be arranged to cover cancellation and other risks.
