Mas Du Pla De Railla is a 150 Year Old Farmhouse, completely renovated with style and passion and comes with a completly private pool which is not overlooked, is walled and has lockable gates making it safe for families with young adventurous children. There are also 2 games fields equipped for football, table tennis, badminton and bowls so something for everyone to enjoy.
There is secure parking for up to 6 cars
The farmhouse (approx 300sq mts) sleeps 8 in its 4 bedrooms and is mainly on one le.vel.
You enter the property into
A very large and bright open plan lounge dinner (approx 60 sq mts) where there are exposed beams, a log fire, a dining table and chairs and a leather chesterfield sofa. There is a further large sofa directly in front of the flat screen tv (Netflix and youtube are available). Internet is available along with a wide collection of up to date DVD’s and a player. This open plan lounge diner area allows you to access:
The modern and fully equipped kithen. There is a large fridge freezer, dishwasher, gaz cooker, electric oven and microwave. There is a coffee machine, toaster indeed all you need to comfortably self cater. There is also a central bar with stools which is an idea place to take breakfast. There is a door from the kitchen that exits onto
The large flood lit dinning terrace where there is a BBQ, dinning table and chairs. This area can be shaded for dining which is very necessary in high summer. There is a further garden table and chairs under the shade of the Mulberry trees along with a triple swing chair. This area is great for reading relaxing or taking a chilled glass of wine or two (not necessarily in moderation as you are on holiday).
There is a further flood lit side terrace with a sofa and table and chairs.
The private flood lit pool is directly in front of this side terrace. It is completely private and not overlooked. It measures approx 8 by 4 mts and is 1.5 mts deep throughout. There are tiered steps into the pool which is helpful to non swimmers or those who just want to enjoy just sitting in the cool water. It is fully maintained for you with 2 vists per week. The two games fields for those more energetic. The land is south facing so you can enjoy the sun throughout the day.
From the open plan lounge area is a door that exits into a long L shaped corridor.
There are eight exits off this corridor.
- The first is into a seperate shower room equipped with a walk in shower, wash basin and toilet.
- The second is into a utility room where there is a washing machine and also a second large fridge freezer. The cleaning materials for the house are also stored in this area.
- The third is into a family bathroom where there is a bath and a double wash basin.
- The fourth takes you into the master bedroom that enjoys its own private ensuite. There is a walk in shower and wash basin as well as a walk in wardrobe. There is a very comfortable double bed with bedside cabinets with reading lights. There are also patio doors that exit onto the large BBQ terrace.
- The fifth takes you into the second double bedroom also with a double bed, bedside cabinets and reading lights. There is a large waldrobe and patio doors that exit onto the back terrace.
- The sixth takes you into the third double bedroom equipped exactly as the other two double bedrooms and again there are patio doors onto the back terrace
- The seventh exit is a seperate toilet with a wash basin.
- The final exit takes you to a staircase that gives axcess to the first floor where you will find the 4th double bedroom. There are two single beds in this room.
- On this floor there is also an office area.
Pets allowed
The farmhouse is set in 2 acres of private land, so you can completely enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside but are only a 5 minute drive to the chic market town of Thuir.
In Thuir you will find all the amienities of a major French town. The Mediterranean beaches, Perpignan and Spain are all just a 30 minute drive away.

We stayed here for 2 weeks in July and had a brilliant holiday. There was plenty of space for us and our 3 teenage children within the villa and the surrounding grounds. The pool area was fantastic and perfect to relax and soak up the sun all day long and into the evening. The kids loved playing football and table tennis in the grass area. The accommodation had everything needed for a family and was very clean, well kept and spacious. Plenty to do in the area and the lovely town of Thuir was very close by. The owner, Bob was fantastic to deal with and was so helpful when we were there. He provided a great list of places to visit and informed us of local events that were on during our stay. He was on hand to deal with anything we needed, but left us to enjoy the privacy of the villa and pool. Had a great holiday and will hopefully return one day.Guest rating:
We have just returned from a two week stay here and had an amazing time. The villa is extremely spacious, very clean and well equipped. We had beautiful weather so spent most of our time outside, having long bbq’s well into the evening on the patio. We only used the pool a couple of times, as it was October the water was on the cool side but the pool area was a real sun trap so perfect for relaxing in the sun. The villa is in a very quiet location but with very easy access to Thuir for shopping and to the coast or mountains. Bob is a great host and is always on hand should there be any problems. We have just returned to Scotland from our second visit to this wonderful house. We first stayed in 2016 (2 adults and 4 kids) and we had no hesitation in returning three years later for another 2 week break. The house is perfect and allows everyone to relax in their own way, inside or out or in the pool. We have never eaten a meal indoors while staying here and regularly cooked on the outside BBQ. The kids love the outdoor space and the pool and, this year especially, given the constant temperatures above 30 degrees. Thuir is a great town with lots to see and do and it’s well serviced by shops, and other facilities. There are some excellent wineries close by and we have had several trips to the coast for the beaches and the water park at St Cypriene. We would happily go back again. The owners are delightful and get the balance perfectly right in terms of looking after you when you stay and leaving you to your own devices.Guest rating:
Having rented a variety of properties in the past this one stands out as something special.
It was very spacious for 2 adults plus 4 kids and the facilities were more than we expected.
House very clean the kitchen very well equipped with all utensiles required (including coffee maker)
Beds were very comfortable
Swimming pool was very clean and we thoroughly enjoyed a swim every day.
Overall the house offers more than it says in the description and we would definitely stay here again.Guest rating:

Our second stay was even better than the first and we have already reserved for Aug 2019
The property is set in its own land so is completely private and very peaceful
The children spent lots of time in the pool and playing football and table tennis .
With them occupied we could totally switch off and enjoy a totally relaxing time ourselves

Thank you Helene and Bob for such a wonderful holiday. The house is beautifully laid out, with all of the amenities you could possibly need.
There was plenty of space for inside and outside dining, and the location is completely private as the advert stated (unlike some other properties we have stayed in the past)
The pool was glorious, and much-needed during the hot weather!! and the girls really enjoyed the activities available in the gamles fields

What a great house and superb facilities
The house is secluded and very private but at the same time only a short drive to Thuir where there is everything you need
Bob and Helene were very welcoming and their local knowledge regards beaches and restaurants really made our holiday thank you

We spent three weeks in this lovely property and could easily have stayed three more. It is well-equipped with everything you could possibly need. The terraces are perfect for dining al fresco and relaxing and the interior is of a very high standard. We swam in the pool every day
The local town of Thuir is only 5 mins away which has some great restaurants and the market on Saturday morning was charming
Helene and Bob were great hosts and went that extra mile as we had a major problem with our car while on holiday and their help was invaluable.Guest rating:
We’ve just spent our second stay at the house and found it to be really comfortable (again) and well equipped as before. As a group of 6 adults and two children + baby (11 months) we had plenty of space to find quiet times, or go swimming everyday.
Such a great area with lots to see and do. We recommend this house to anyone who wants a really comfortable break in a stunning location.Guest rating:
