Gaillac (Tarn)
Gaillac is a town in the Tarn department of France approximately 50km North East of Toulouse
Proud of its history which has been closely linked to wine production since Roman times, Gaillac has a remarkable and well preserved medieval heritage. Around the St Michel Abbey, its historical heart, the red brick buildings and tiled roofs are reminiscent of Tuscany.
There is a large market in the town every Friday. The general maket (clothes etc) is in the main part of the town while the food market is a minute or two away in Place du Griffoul in the direction of the tourist office signs. Get there early as parking can be a problem on market day.
There is a large Leclerc supermaket on the outskirts of the town.
