One of the first résidences to be built on the quayside, Vézère Vue has been recently renovated with much care and attention to detail, to make this an excellent Holiday home.
The entrance from the Rue de la republique, welcomes you into a spacious hallway, off which you will find a laundry/WC. The bedroom and double doors leading into the kitchen.
- The bedroom has a kingsized bed and bedside tables, with a console table and ornate Mirror above. The beautiful exposed fireplace is the main feature in this room along with the views over the River Vézère, from both Windows. The en-suite shower room has a large italian shower, WC and washbasin.
- The second bedroom is on the first floor, with king size bed, built-in wardrobe. Beautiful river views from the dormer window.
- on this floor is also a shower room, with WC and wash basin and also an open study/work area.
- The glazed double doors leading into the well appointed kitchen, very well equiped and enjoying views of the river. The large island separates the kitchen from the dining room, which has a large table and seating for four, again with river views.
- The lounge area has two comfortable sofas, tables and lamps.
- The terrace door leads you to unspoilt views of the River Vézère, the large private terrace is the perfect place to enjoy the view. There is seating and sunloungers and through the wrought iron gate, it leads you down steps to a further terrace, from here you can directly access the quayside.
Le Bugue is a thriving old market town, with historic lanes and buildings creating an interesting ambiance. The bustling Tuesday market provides the holidaymaker with all the sights and smells one associates with life in France. And this is just a few minutes walk from the Holiday home. Le Bugue has all amenities including four supermarkets, banks, restaurants, pharmacies and plenty of bakers!
Le Bugue is in the Périgord Noir area of the Dordogne, well known for its good food and wine. The Vézère Valley is steeped in history (and pre-history) having been inhabited for many thousands of years. There are many chateaux and caves to visit in the area, in Le Bugue, all within a short walk of the house, there is the Village de Bournat (a living museum of bygone days) the Aquarium du Périgord Noir and new for 2016 the Labryinth within the Aquarium. Canoes are available nearby and there are plenty of walks and cycling trails to enjoy. Fishing is permitted in the River Vézère, please ask for détails.
Les Eyzies is only 15 minutes drive away, the beautiful medieval town of Sarlat is 25 minutes away and so to is the Lascaux cave drawings in Montignac.
During the months of July and August most villages hold a 'night market' these are extremely popular, fresh food cooked to order and Entertainment, a fabulous way to end the day.

A charming cottage right on the quayside on the bank of the Vezere, the view from the property is amazing. The cottage is light and airy and spacious for a one bedroomed property, with a lovely terrace to enjoy the view and the sun. Situated on the edge of the town but within a short walk to all amenities including a large hypermarket. Lovely walks along the river, you can walk or cycle all the way to Les Eyzies (13km) on a flat path and I believe now also in the opposite direction to Limeul where the Vezere and Dordogne rivers converge. Le Bugue itself is an ideal base for exploring the Vezere valley and its prehistoric treasures, at the same time an easy drive to Sarlat. Our hosts David and Jackie were very welcoming and helpful and live only a short distance away in case of need. Thoroughly recommended.Guest rating:
An immaculate property set in a quiet and scenic riverside location, with everything needed for a self-catering holiday. Our hosts were very welcoming and helpful. Only a few minutes walk from the centre of Le Bugue with its restaurants, markets and shops. In July and August there are evening markets if you fancy a night off from cooking. Within easy reach of the pre-historic cave dwellings of the Vezere Valley and Lascaux. There are numerous attractive villages and towns to visit and explore. We cannot recommend this property highly enough. Thank you Jackie and David.Guest rating:
