We returned to spend a week at Le Cluzel this August, having visited also for a week last summer. We think it is a lovely house - very tastefully renovated and furnished, and superbly relaxing and peaceful despite being located very conveniently for the main area of St Antonin. Its large open terrace with a beautiful wisteria to one side is a particular favourite of ours, and we again spent much time on it.Guest rating:
We stayed at Le Cluzel for two and a half weeks this summer - and loved it! It is a very spacious house, full of character yet comfortable and with plenty of room to spread out. We loved being so near the central square that we could listen to the live music in the nearby restaurants whilst sitting on the terrace and we loved the buzz of the visitors all around us, admiring 'our house' and street! Despite this, the town was surprisingly quiet at night. It was extremely useful to be so near a range of good shops and reasonably priced eating places, within 10 minutes walk of a river plage for swimming and kayaking and the start of about 25 good, local walks. The town was comprised almost entirely of little alleys. and mostly car free. It was so full of mediaeval doorways and interesting views, that you could never grow tired of it: it proved quite an inspiration for watercolour paintings! There was plenty to do in the nearby towns too - the only slight drawback was that looking for parking places on our return could sometimes take a while, although we always found somewhere eventually. A small price to pay for a fabulous house in a great location.Guest rating:
We spent two weeks at this property in September 2019. The house has been beautifully renovated and is light and airy, with a large terrace overlooking a shady unpaved square. All home comforts are provided, including fans in the bedrooms, and even in hot weather it is noticeably cool as you go through the door; the walls are about 50cm thick! It is in the centre of St Antonin Noble Val, but not at all noisy as there are no cars in that area, just narrow alleys between the medieval houses. St Antonin is a gem, with a picturesque central square which is great for coffee and people-watching; lots of restaurants, bakeries etc. and a large Sunday market, all within five minutes' walk. We didn't cook once! We visited lots of interesting small towns and villages, and tasted wine at several vineyards near Gaillac. But the best times were just sitting on the terrace in the dusk, watching the swallows, then the bats, and finally the stars.Guest rating:
We very much enjoyed our week staying at this lovely house. it has been very tastefully renovated with excellent materials and design, to create an airy, relaxing and beautiful property. Whilst in the heart of St Antonin, it is not noisy, and enjoys a large open but private terrace. It is a very short walk from the fantastic open air public swimming pool, and from a number of excellent restaurants and cafesGuest rating:
We rented Le Cluzel (main house + appartment) for our annual summer family holiday. It was quite simply amazing. The house has been lovingly renovated to incorporate many wonderful original features, alongside modern facilities to make living here so easy. The spacious, part covered terrace area is sublime. You can watch the swallows and bats soaring among the rooftops, whilst enjoying a glass of wine and a BBQ. The house is situated in the heart of the medieval town of St Antonin Noble Val. Accessed via cobbled narrow streets, it is magical. The town has wonderful bakeries and restaurants; as well as a renowned Sunday morning market when you can buy delicious fresh food and treats. We had a fabulous holiday and look forward to returning.Guest rating:
