This beautiful, tranquil, renovated property is 25km south of the Dordogne River amid gently rolling hills, orchards and vineyards. The cottage has air conditioned bedrooms, its own private garden with far reaching views and secure parking. There is a large patio with barbecue, outdoor furniture and sun umbrella. A table tennis table, football and badminton/volleyball net is available for your use. There is also a large (gated) heated swimming pool, equipped with sun loungers and umbrellas.
Le Prunier is within easy reach of many Bastide towns: Castillonnes; Eymet; Issigeac; Lauzun; Monpazier and Monflanquin amongst them.
Property Interior
- Bedroom 1 (Air Conditioned) - furnished with a king size bed and has an ensuite shower and wc.
- Bedroom 2 (Air Conditioned) - can be configured to requirements, 3 single beds or 1 ‘king’ and 1 ‘single’.
- Main Bathroom - is equipped with bath/shower, WC and basin.
- Kitchen – modern and fully equipped with adequate seating to accommodate all guests.
- Sitting Room – fully furnished for a comfortable 'night in’ with English Freesat television.

The owner’s property is located on site and the owners will be there to meet/greet you and assist you during your stay.
Le Prunier is within easy reach of many Bastide towns: Castillonnes; Eymet; Issigeac; Lauzun; Monpazier and Monflanquin amongst them.
Lalandusse is a small hamlet in the heart of the French countryside, 25km south of Bergerac and just 6km from the Bastide town of Castillonnes. The 13th century fortifications such as Eymet, Lauzun, Monpazier, Monflanquin, Villereal and the medieval town of Issigeac are all 'local'.
Most mornings a colourful market can be found in one or other of the local towns and summer night markets are plentiful. All small towns have their traditional summer fetes which are advertised locally - normally under your car windscreen wipers when parked!! Failing that, both Castillonnes and Eymet have good Tourist Information Offices in the town squares. There are many good local restaurants in the area and musical entertainment is plentiful during the main tourist season.

- 18 hole Golf Courses at Chateau des Vigiers and Villeneuve-sur-Lot with an attractive 9 hole course at Tombebeouf.
- An Aquapark on Route de Bordeaux out of Bergerac and Canoeing on the Dordogne, Dropt, Lot and Vezere Rivers.
- Local stables and tennis courts are available.
- Wine tasting is available at most, if not all, vineyards and vineyard tours plentiful.
- Most towns will be visited by a travelling Medieval Festival throughout late July/August.

How to get to Le Prunier
- Property is 20 kilometres from Bergerac Airport, served by British Airways from London City. Jet2 from Birmingham, Leeds/Bradford and Manchester. Ryanair from Bristol, East Midlands, Liverpool, London Stansted and Southend.
- Other airlines fly into Toulouse, Limoges and Bordeaux.
- All major car hire companies operate out of Bergerac Airport and Train Station.
- Train Services are via Paris or Lille to Bordeaux and change for Bergerac or Marmande (easier connection with Europcar opposite the station).

We stayed at Le Prunier as a family of 4 (children aged 10 and 11), for 7 nights w/c 3rd Aug 2024. Le Prunier really is idyllic! Lalandusse is very very small but within a 15 minute drive you can be at a variety of larger beautiful towns, rivers, lakes, supermarkets and even a chocolate museum! Hosts Penny and Trevor are wonderful people, they live on-site so are there if you need them but not at all intrusive. The private, heated pool is kept perfectly clean and has stunning views of the countryside. The gîte is beautifully traditional, comfy beds and everything you need in the kitchen. There is a private terrace and garden to the rear of the gîte, and numerous games to play inside and out. Bergerac airport is no more than 25 mins drive away. We had a perfect week away at Le Prunier, none of us wanted to leave and we all want to return!Guest rating:
This was a return visit for us (without children) having spent family holidays here with the previous owners. We were not disappointed! Trevor and Penny are wonderful hosts and have upgraded Le Prunier since our last visit 15 years ago. The fabulous back patio area is a great addition and we spent much of our time relaxing there in the sun. The heated pool is kept pristine and we used it on a daily basis. Must also mention the beautiful bedding and fluffy towels which were very much appreciated. The surrounding area is very peaceful and there are lots of beautiful towns nearby worth visiting such as Bergerac, Castionnes, Eymet, Issigeac, Monpazier. We were lucky enough to be there for the opening of the new bar/restaurant at Lalandusse which is great for a drink and pizza! We had a fantastic fortnight here and would return in a heartbeat! Trevor and Penny are friendly helpful hosts who strike the fine balance of being there if needed but maintaining your privacy too. A comfortable gite with lovely views from the garden across the fields. The pool is an ideal place to relax and keep cool. The village of lalandusse is quiet but with a restaurant/cafe/shop that is a 15 minute walk up the road, we ate there three times in our two weeks and its good value for money. Castillonnes is only 10 minutes away by car and has everything you need. The pretty Bastide towns are all within 20 to 30 mins away with lovely markets and restaurants. We had a wonderful time at Le Prunier. The pool area is superb and Trevor keeps the pool extremely clean and tidy even in the unusual windy weather we had. The cottage is perfect and we’ll equipped and really clean. We spent some days by the pool and also visited Bergerac and other local towns and enjoyed the markets The view is amazing from the patio area and we enjoyed the glorious sunsets. We have just returned from a week in this lovely cottage. Very well equiped and spotlessly clean (and cool !! which was a blessing in 30 degree temps). The garden area is very private and equally peaceful to sit out on an evening or early morning coffee just listening to the birds. The pool is very well maintained with a stunning view across the countryside. Trevor and Penny are excellent hosts and have definitely got the balance perfect between giving you privacy but also on hand if you need anything, along with a lovely welcome package and info on the local amenities to get you started. Le Prunier location is ideal for visiting other places of interest including Villereal (which has a really good choice of eateries, whether you're a couple or with children). Issigeac is a must to visit, as is their day market. Eymet if you like a good Galette (although a little English). Plus there's a million chateaus nearby if you like history, We would highly recommend a stay here, accommodation, hosts, location and amenities are all spot on.Guest rating:
We stayed at Le Prunier in June 2023 and had a fantastic time. The cottage has the most amazing views, well equipped and spotlessly clean as is the swimming pool. The owners, Trevor and Penny also provide a welcome pack of French goodies that certainly go down well after a long journey. On-site there are various ball games - table tennis, football and swing ball to name but a few and board games. Trevor and Penny are very welcoming, friendly and helpful hosts who provide lots of useful local information on where to go and yet, respect your privacy. The surrounding area is very beautiful with lots of lovely nearby towns and villages to explore. We can thoroughly recommend Le Prunier as an excellent holiday location.Guest rating:
We stayed at Le Prunier for a week in late August and had a fantastic stay. Private pool and garden, loads of games for the kids, and set down a very quiet lane for peace and tranquility. As a party of four adults the property was perfect for us. Clean and well equipped, with easy acces to the large pool, we had a lovely holiday The weather was extremely hot (36-41c all week) which was unusual, so sightseeing was kept to a minimum, but the property is ideally placed for the Bastille towns of the South Dordogne and Lot et Garonne areas. Luckily the private pool is perfect on hot days! The gite owners are in an adjacent property and are extremely helpful if needed but also allow full privacy. Would definitely recommend!Guest rating:
We had a very enjoyable couple of weeks at Le Prunier this July / August. Trevor and Penny were such gracious and accommodating hosts who both left you to it and were on hand if you needed them. The gite was spacious and well appointed and the large garden was full of games for our girls (6 and 8 years old). The pool was fantastic with a great view and Trevor kept it nice and clean! The local village had a good bar restaurant and sold excellent bread and the surrounding area had plenty to keep the family occupied from lake swimming to pretty towns and markets. We wound certainly recommend Le Prunier as a family holiday destination in a beautiful area of France!Guest rating:
