Cassard, meaning ‘stronghold’ sits above the site of a former pre revolution manor house, and as local legend has it, was built using the stone and huge wooden beams from the house when it was demolished during the revolution. It has been lovingly restored to a high standard by English Artisans to maintain the character and charm of the Quercy region. Cassard is conveniently located within walking distance of the rural village of Anglars which comes alive during the summer months with local fetes and traditional Auberge bar/restaurant. Just 5 mins drive (or 15 mins cycle) takes you to Lacapelle Marival for all local amenities and choice of restaurants and bars with wifi. With 3 bedrooms, 2 double and 1 twin, 3 bathrooms, Cassard is ideal for 2 couples sharing plus 2 children. A folding bed is available for a 5th person.

Cassard is ideal accommodation for couples or small families. The 7mx4m private pool, is close to the house and surrounded by sun decking and terracing. The outdoor dining and BBQ, enjoying views over the surrounding countryside.
Accommodation
The main entrance is up some stone steps onto the covered balcony overlooking the pool. The door leads into the open plan living/dining area with corner kitchen/breakfast bar. Well equipped with cooker/fridge/ washing machine/dishwasher and microwave etc. A larder fridge /freezer is located in the basement for extra storage. Dining table gives seating 6 and comfortable seating is at the far end in front of the log burning stove. TV with UK satellite, DVD player. Ipod dock.
The traditional ‘souillard’ gives a cosy area to read and relax or listen to music.

Just 5 minutes drive from the picturesque village of Lacapelle-Marival with its 13th century chateau, Cassard is conveniently situated for a wide choice of local shops, including 2 boulangeries, butcher, fruit and vegetable shop, post office and pharmacy. A well stocked supermarket, newsagent, doctors, banks and restaurants are all within easy reach. The medieval town of Figeac is approx 20 mins drive away, with it’s bustling Saturday market, as well as many delightful shops and restaurants.
Within one hours drive, are numerous tourist spots and places of interest, including Cahors, St Cirq Lapopie and the famous historic site of Rocamadour, the fascinating natural chasm of the ‘Gouffre de Padirac’ as well as pre-historic caves, famous for their cave paintings.
An ideal base for visiting the Lot, Célé and Dordogne river valleys for a choice of many river activities.
