Clauzel is a restored barn with exposed beams and original stonework, which retains an abundance of traditional charm yet offers excellent modern facilities and amenities. There are:
- Three double size bedrooms
- Three bath/shower rooms
- Exceptionally spacious living rooms with a sofa bed for extra flexibility
- A fully equipped modern kitchen.
Outside, the shaped swimming pool with Roman steps is built into the hillside and has wonderful views to enjoy whilst swimming. There are plenty of loungers and parasols on the terrace around the pool in this peaceful and secluded haven. The pool is fully fenced for safety in accordance with strict French laws and has a constant depth of 1.3m, making it perfect for children and adults alike.
The gardens around the house are landscaped and there is a delightful sun-trap terrace surrounded by lavender in front of the house with table and chairs which is perfect for relaxing or eating al fresco.
With many trees in the grounds, there are lots of shady spots for guests to sit and enjoy a good book. The extensive grounds and surrounding countryside offer plenty of walks and nature lovers will be amazed by the varieties of wild flowers, butterflies and birds which fill this unspoiled corner of France.
The house is great for children who are able to play safely in the fields and woods around the house, untroubled by traffic.

Clauzel (Country Houses In France) sits high on a hillside overlooking the picturesque and sleepy village of Castanet (82160) within over a hectare of secluded private land. With stunning views the house offers a relaxing and tranquil location in the heart of rolling French countryside and woodland. Nearby villages include Monteils and Parisot which both have bakeries, small grocery shops and, very importantly, good family-run restaurants! Villefranche de Rouergue is a 20 minute drive and offers good shopping, restaurants and sightseeing.

Clauzel is a lovely place to spend the holidays. The house has everything one needs and the garden is a haven of peace and quiet. We especially appreciated the pool and table tennis table. The surroundings are beautiful and there is lots to do. Loved it!

We had an absolutely brilliant time in this lovely villa. The kitchen is well equipped, The shower was LUSH, the rooms were super spacious, and it had a really authentic rustic vibe to it. We came with a large family and a baby, who slept downstairs, which all worked out very nicely (couldn't hear any midnight crying from upstairs, haha). The pool was heated, and there was this adorable reading hammock too. We really reccomend the castle at Najac (up a steep hill but so worth it), long scenic runs down to the village, and the local area has some gems to visit. E. G. There's a river where you can go fresh water swimming, totally deserted, so ideal! Also some delish restaurants in town. Can't recommend this enough! Will be taking the family again next year.

This place is fabulous and is set in a quiet and rural location .The house is beautiful and has everything you need. The terrace is a wonderful place to eat any meal with stunning views across the valley to the surrounding hills.It's a great place to relax with your glass of wine. The Pool is heated and a really good size. The garden is big and you are not overlooked by anyone. We loved playing table tennis in the day time. The surrounding area is full of exciting things to do including kayaking, river and lake swimming, castles, markets and summer festivals. I would recommend having a car for your stay here. The owners are very friendly.

Such a wonderful place to have a relaxing holiday, the house itself is situated in such a beautiful spot with a fantastic pool! We had a wonderful time exploring the local villages, the market at St. Antonin and the village of Najac were particular highlights. Will definitely be returning.
