Set in 3 acres of well maintained lawns La Belle Grange was originally a farmhouse built on a hill looking out over surrounding farmland with far reaching views towards the Pyrenees. The areas downstairs have been designed open plan with generous entertaining space all of which benefit from the spectacular surroundings. The house comprises of

- Four bathrooms
- An office (single bed available)
- Ample living space downstairs. Open plan large kitchen, dining room and drawing room with a large open fireplace. These rooms can also become closed off areas, should the need arise. The house is well suited to young families.
- A utility room leading off the kitchen contains a second dish washer, washing machine, boiler and drying area.
There is a tennis court and a swimming pool (with protective fence as well as electric cover) in addition to plenty of well maintained lawn and terraces.
Please note that this is a family home with furnishings, pictures and other contents of considerable sentimental value.
Located in the foothills of the Pyrenees, La Belle Grange is a family home both beautifully and practically designed for the most comfortable of holidays in rural South West France. Surrounded by Ariege farmland, the views from the house are spectacular with the snow-capped mountains providing a stunning backdrop.
There is a tennis court and a swimming pool (with protective fence as well as electric cover) in addition to plenty of well maintained lawn and terraces.
La Belle Grange is 10 minutes drive from Pamiers, a small town that contains everything you will need; supermarkets, market square with regular markets, many boulangeries, patisseries a post office, various banks etc all within easy access.
The house is 1 hours drive from either Toulouse (British Airways, Easyjet, Ryanair) or Carcasonne (Ryanair) airport.
The Ariege is beautiful in all seasons - not just the summer. There is plenty to do locally.
- Pamiers: Market day on Saturday in the main square.
- Mirepoix: Market day on Mondays. There is also a cathedral here well worth a visit.
- Foix: Market day here on Fridays. Foix also has a castle, whose foundations date back to the early tenth century.
- St Girons: Market day here on Saturdays set alongside the river the market is extensive with artisanal, antique and food stalls.
- Skiing: Ax le Thermes is a charming ski resort with natural hot springs just under an hour's commute from the house. Andorra 2 hours.
- Fishing: Trout fishing available on local rivers. Permits available in Pamiers

I've stayed at this marvellously hospitable house both in winter - whiskies and board games around the fireplace and brisk walks across unblemished landscapes - and in summer, a happy blur of market shopping trips, long lunches in the garden, and refreshing dunks in the pool. Any time of year, this place is a winner if you want space to cook, read, gather, rest, and explore some of the most unspoiled landscapes and villages in France. Surrounded by nature, and decorated with easygoing warmth by charming owners who clearly love to entertain, the house is perfect for bringing together your favourite people in the most glorious surroundings.

Our holiday at La Belle Grange was a dream from start to finish. It's a warm, luxurious home, in an incredible setting, on a hill, looking out over the distant Pyrenees. We loved the garden and the many terraces, and of course the pool. The children were in it all day, and when they weren't there they were playing ping pong in the shade of the terrace. It's a quiet
peaceful position, and yet very close to the delights of Pamiers and its markets. We loved the open plan nature of the house, the comfortable beds, the beautiful interior design. I can thoroughly recommend this as a holiday destination for families, groups of friends, or a couple. It's epic.Guest rating:
The house is exceptional - a beautiful home with idyllic grounds and breath-taking views across the Pyrenees. We've rented it a few times in recent years and it's been a true delight every time. The children love the swimming pool and tennis court, the terrace is glorious all day and perfectly captures the sunset, and all the rooms are charming and full of light. It's really worth experiencing, and is within easy reach of lovely towns and villages in the Ariege.
