Accommodation
The main entrance takes you into a large hallway. Straight ahead of you is a formal Living Room and large French Doors opening over the garden and lake. There is a Grand Piano in the Living Room (key on request). The Dining Room is on the left with seating up to 12. On the right of the Living Room is a Library/Snug with TV. The Chateau is a family home and on the ground floor there is also a playroom with TV for the children which has a staircase leading directly down to the large Kitchen. There is also downstairs WC.
The Kitchen is on the lower ground floor and has direct access out into the garden. There is also a large pantry with additional storage and facilities. The Kitchen is well equipped with all the modern conveniences you could want for during your stay. There is also a small terrace with table and chairs accessed from the Kitchen. Off the kitchen is a Cinema Room with projector and Cinema style seating.
There is WIFI and UK Freeview TV.
There are 6 bedrooms all upstairs on the first floor comprising as follows;
- Bedroom 1 has a super king size bed (180cm) with an en-suite bathroom with bath and separate shower.
- Bedroom 2 has a king size bed (160cm) with an en-suite bathroom with bath and separate shower.
- Bedroom 3 has a double bed (140cm) as well as a sofa bed with an en-suite shower room.
- Bedroom 4 has a super king size bed (180cm) with an en-suite shower room (this is outside of the room but close by in the hallway).
- Bedroom 5 has a double bed (140cm) and en-suite shower room.
- Bedroom 6 has 2 twin beds (90cm each) and there is an en-suite shower room (this is outside of the room but close by in the hallway).
Outside Living
The Chateau has beautiful large windows many of which open up over the garden at the rear. There are large doors opening onto the formal stairs at the back which then take you down onto a large travertine terrace which connects the pool with the dining terrace, the Pavilion and back around to the Kitchen. The terrace has a large dining table that seats 12 easily. The 12m x 5m heated pool is a short walk from the dining terrace and the pool area has plenty of seating and recliners. There are pool toys, childrens slide and swing set and garden games.
The covered Pavilion is in an ideal position to offer shade whilst looking over the lake. There is a large gas BBQ with an additional table for dining. The pool has an a shutter cover for security and offers a small shallow area as well as a deeper end. There is also a Tennis Court.This is not new and is more for children to pay around on rather than competitive games. Outside the inner garden, the estate is varied with large grassy areas, woodland walks, a beautiful lake as well as numerous places to picnic.
There are 2 horses, 2 donkeys, a dog and a cat and chickens living on the grounds and fresh eggs may sometimes be available for guests.
The Chateau is in an ideal location for getting to know this fabulous area of the Dordogne/Lot et Garonne and although set in beautiful countryside is ideally placed to visit many local bastide villages.The nearest local shop selling bread is a 5 minute drive away. The historic Town of Lauzun with bank, restaurants and a few shops is an 8 minute drive.
The village of Eymet is just a 15 minute drive away with many shops, restaurants and bars as well as weekly markets, both in the morning and the evening. You are also close to Castillonnes, Monpazier, Monflanquin and Duras to mention just a few of the medieval villages close by. Local shop selling bread- 3.3km (5 mins) Historic Town of Lauzun with bank, Restaurant and a few shops-7.4km (8 mins) Supermarkets and choice of restaurants-8.5km (10 mins) Bastide Town of Eymet- 14km (15 mins)
The Dordogne riverside town of Bergerac with it's International Airport is just a 30 minute drive north and the vibrant city of Bordeaux with a larger Airport is just a one hour and 30 minute drive to the West.
There are activities to suit all ages and interests, foodies will enjoy the great local restaurants at the heart of France's centre of gastronomic excellence, as well as the wine of AOC Bergerac. The area has been described as the capital of world prehistory, and culture vultures are spoilt for choice with caves, museums and chateaux aplenty.
Getting Here
The Chateau is easily accessed by air, train and car. The nearest airport is Bergerac (30 minutes by car) and Bordeaux is 90 minutes by car. There is also Toulouse airport which is just under 2 hours drive away. If you wish to drive, the Chateau is about 6 hours drive from St Malo ferry and 9.5 hours from Calais.
The Farmhouse and Barn are set in the quiet countryside of the Lot et Garonne and Dordogne borders but are a short drive to many beautiful towns and villages. The village of Soumensac is just 4km away and has a regular Sunday morning food market throughout July and August. The bustling town of Eymet is just 11m away and has many shops, restaurants and bars as well as weekly morning and night markets. The Dordogne riverside town of Sainte Foy La Grande is an 18km drive. the championship golf course at Chateau Vigiers is only 13km away.
The property is in an ideal location on the borders of the Dordogne to explore this beautiful area of South West France with many medieval bastide villages close by such as Duras, Issigeac, Castillonnes, Monflanquin and Monpazier. The Dordogne river-side town of Bergerac is just a 30 minute drive away and the vineyards of St Emilion are only a 50 minute drive from the property. Both places are a must to visit!

How to get to Family Chateau sleeps 12
The Farmhouse and Barn are ideally positioned between 3 international airports making it an easy final destination. The International Airport of Bergerac is just under 30 minutes away. Ryanair flies here from London Stansted, Liverpool, Nottingham, and Bristol. British Airways fly to Bergerac from London City and Southampton. Jet2 flies to Leeds Bradford Airport and Transvania flies to Rotterdam. The vibrant city of Bordeaux is 1hr 30 mins away, with a larger International Airport servicing over 95 UK and Worldwide destinations. In addition, Toulouse Airport is approximately 1hr 45 mins drive to the south.

- All prices are in sterling and are per week, Saturday to Saturday, arriving at 4pm departing at 10am.
- A deposit of 30% is required by the Owner to confirm the booking.
- The final balance is due 12 weeks before arrival. A damages deposit of £1000 is also required at that time. This will be refunded in full after departure subject to damage inspection.
