Farmhouse with pool set in the grounds of a Walnut Farm near Gourdon
Soustre is part of our old Lotoise farmhouse set in the grounds of Les Fourches, our walnut farm which has 4 hectares of walnut trees and paddocks. Soustre has been converted from a barn attached to the original old farmhouse. It has own private terrace, garden and shaded parking area. The 12m x 6m salt water swimming pool is in full sun all day and surrounded by a large terrace with sunbeds and parasols, perfect for relaxing by. Pets are welcome strictly by prior arrangement only. We are only 3kms from the lovely medieval town of Gourdon. Mid week bookings and under-occupancy reductions possible outside peak season - please contact us for details.

- The spacious, comfortably furnished sitting room has English satellite tv, music centre, DVD player and woodburner and there are 2 sets of double doors leading onto the terrace.
- There is a well equipped kitchen with gas cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine together with table to seat 6 people.
- The bathroom has bath with shower, washbasin, bidet and toilet.
- Separate toilet
Double doors to sitting room, kitchen and bedrooms open onto the private terrace and lawn areas where there is garden furniture and a barbeque. Bed linen, towels and poolside towels provided.
Please note heating is not included in the rental price during the months November to April. If required, this will be charged as extra and will be payable locally in Euros as agreed with the Owners.
Les Fourches is situated 3 kms from Gourdon in the beautiful Lot/Dordogne region of South West France. Gourdon, capital of the Bouriane, is a small picturesque town with many fascinating side streets leading up to the church and the "Table d'Orientation" which has a stunning 360 degree view over the Bouriane countryside. It has a history dating back to medieval times and the Grottes de Cougnac has the oldest viewable prehistoric paintings dating back 25000 years. On the circular route around the town you will find a variety of excellent restaurants and pavement cafe bars where you can sit and watch the world go by. There are also several supermarkets and boulangeries selling delicious pastries, breads and croissants. The Tuesday and Saturday markets sell local produce to sample amongst which is the famous Fois Gras. On the outskirts of the town there are 2 lakes in a beautiful setting. One is for swimming and has a play area for children, the other is for fishing - visitor permits can be obtained in the town.
This beautiful area has an abundance of places to visit on roads that are a pleasure to drive along at any time of the year. There are also many activities to enjoy such as canoeing on the Dordogne river (8kms), hot air ballooning (20kms), lake swimming and fishing (1km), 18 hole golf course (17kms) and horse riding locally. Rocamadour (one of the most visited places in France), Sarlat and the "Valley of the Chateaux" are all within easy reach, as are the vineyards at Cahors where you can sample the excellent wines of the Lot. Of course, if you prefer, you can just sit by the pool and soak up the sun or relax under the trees with a book. Whichever you choose you will be made most welcome here and we look forward to helping you enjoy your holiday with us.

How to get to Soustre
We are only 20kms from the A20 Paris/Toulouse autoroute - full directions will be provided. Should you wish to travel by train, Gourdon is on the main Paris/Toulouse rail line. The airports of Bergerac and Toulouse are approximately 90 mins by car.

We are just back from a cheeky week here and loved it. Our group was a family of 5 with kids of 21/19 and 17. The place was clean and everything worked. The pool is large enough for a good swim and relax. Jeremy and Pauline are on site but not pushy and very helpful and sociable. This is an idyllic spot for exploring the area. You have everything you need in Gourdon as well as some fantastic restaurants. We are already missing enjoying our evening glass as the sun sets over the poolGuest rating:
