My family of 4 stayed here (6 year old + 3 year old) for a week and we loved it! The house itself has everything you need, and is very comfortable. The pool was very popular! Most important was the location - very close to nature. We loved it and will be back!Guest rating:
Even the pictures cannot do justice to the view, marvellous and constantly changing with cloud and light. Villa is in a quiet location so the bird life around was great. From serin and cirl buntings through to hoopoe and golden oriel, all were spotted from the comfort of the patio. The advice in the house was to keep the gate closed to keep out 'dogs and wild pigs'. We didn't see either, though the wild goats were kept out.Guest rating:
Excellent villa in a quiet location with stunning views. Good walking all around and easy accessibility to numerous attractions in the area. No shop or bar in Arboussols so be prepared to drive to the main road for groceries etc.Guest rating:
Well equipped villa in beautiful and quiet location. Great walks from villa and within easy driving distance. Good pool, well maintained. We would visit again and would recommend this villa to anyone who wished to explore this region of France.Guest rating:
We thoroughly enjoyed our two week stay at this property and never ran out of things to do in this interesting region of France. We flew from Southampton to Perpignan and the property was easy to find from there. The villa itself is very comfortable with a lovely pool and relaxing loungers. It took a bit of getting used to driving up and down a narrow mountain road to reach Arbussols and the villa but was absolutely worth it for the fantastic location. The villa is very private situated as it is at the end of a small group of houses and surrounded by countryside. The stunning view from the house of the Pyrenees and also the view through the French windows from the living room has to be seen to be believed, it is truly superb and ever-changing with the weather. We would recommend the nearby lake for swimming plus the superb beaches of the Mediterranean are not far away, and Les Orgues at Ille-sur-Tet are very impressive. Although there is no shop in tiny Arbussols, the supermarket in nearby Prades is open every day including Sunday mornings which proved very useful. All in all, we wish we were still there!

We stayed at this beautiful villa for the week July 12th-19th and only wish we had booked for longer. The views of the Pyrenees were absolutely stunning, the villa was wonderful and comfortable and the Jacuzzi bath was a luxurious added extra. Everything we needed for a lovely relaxing holiday was there, we found it hard to tear ourselves (and our 2 young children) away from the fantastic pool and views to explore the surrounding area, but the local villages and towns were great too - we particularly enjoyed Eus and the Bistrot de pays there. We hope to come back next year and for a longer break, well recommended, thank you so much.

We had a wonderful time and didn't want to leave. We have recommended your house to so many people and there's nothing you could have done to make it better! The views are stunning, the house well equipped, the pool perfect for our three boys, and lovely walks all around. Thank you, we hope to come back again soon!

We had a fantastic time in Arboussols, and we fell in love with the view from the house! We knew in advance that the outlook was pretty special, but it definitely exceeded our expectations. What a magnificent panorama, particularly towards Canigou! It was often difficult to drag ourselves away, but we did do some wonderful walks, visited some beautiful villages, abbeys and priories, and attended some great concerts. The weather was superb, with only the odd thunderstorm interrupting the plentiful supply of sunshine. We found El Couloumer spacious and well equipped, and we very much enjoyed having a pool to cool off in. The jacuzzi bath was a lovely luxury, too, as was access to English TV channels. Our daughter and her friend, who joined us for much of the fortnight, thought it was the best holiday house they'd ever stayed in, and we'd go along with that - and we've stayed in quite a few!
Guest rating:
Our stay in the villa was excellent! The villa was clean and equipped very well, pool was beautiful though not very warm (but we used it nevertheless). Instructions were clear and Nick was very helpful. Many thanks!
And also the dog of our neighbour was very friendly! The weather was variable and it was a little bit colder in villa than in the valley beneath (it was surprise for us :)). The view was unforgettable! A week is too short period to explore the area as there are many many things to do and to visit!
Guest rating:
El Couloumer is a wonderful holiday destination - the villa has everything you could want and you couldn't wish for better views of Mt Canigou and the surrounding area, either from the pool or from the house. The owners go out of their way to ensure that your stay meets all expectations and are more than happy to answer any queries at any time. We fell in love with both the villa and the area and cannot wait to return. Roussillon is beautiful and unspoilt and we would particularly recommend a trip further into the Pyrenees into the upper Tet Valley and the Cerdagne.
Guest rating:
The villa was wonderful. We loved it! We have been self catering for 12 years all over the UK and Europe and this was our best experience by far. Nick was great too. He was very concerned and was available whenever we had questions. The kitchen was fully equipped. The instructions for all the equipment were easy to understand.
Everything was just perfect AND the view was awesome!
Guest rating:
It was lovely and such a relief to walk into a place that was so clean, fresh and airy and know that we could settle in straight away. The house had everything that we needed- the boys thought the bath was great!. We had many a lazy morning by the pool and then just about managed to drag ourselves away for coffee in Eus late afternoon.

We had a wonderful time. What a great location we are really missing that fantastic view! The weather was great sunny and hot every day so the pool and terrace got a lot of use. Your villa had everything we could wish for. Thank you.
Guest rating:
The villa has a stunning view, which was enjoyed every meal time. It is well appointed and the jacuzzi bath provided a special treat on many evenings. The swimming pool is lovely and the built-in steps at the shallow end made it easy to get into and out of the pool.
Guest rating:
We had a fantastic holiday, thank you. The views from the gite are amazing! We had a very relaxing time and could easily return to explore more of the area. The facilities at the gite were impressive too, there wasn't anything we needed that wasn't provided. Thank you also for taking the time to email prior to our holiday with info and photos of the gite and Arboussols.
Guest rating:
Peaceful, modern villa. Well appointed & spacious. Swimming pool. Amazing views across the valley to snowcapped Pyrenees. Recommended! Very helpful owners concerned that our stay was as good as it could be.

Very nice property with stunning views

We just wanted to say what a fabulous time we had at el Couloumer. The location is stunning and the villa so spacious with everything we could possibly have needed. It is certainly a property we would consider returning to and recommending to our friends. We also wanted to say how nice Lynn is and what a great job she does for you.
Guest rating:
We stayed two weeks in the Villa, and liked it a lot. The views are just stunning, and the area is very well suited for hiking. The Villa is in undisturbed location, no traffic even close. Facilities are good, and the Pool is very refreshing to swim during hot days. Nearby Villages have nice supermarkets, shops and restaurants.
