The coast is just a short drive of 20 minutes by car, direction to Granville.
There are many places and attractions such as St Lo'Coutance, there are activity parcs for the children, 2 mini golf courses nearby, horse riding 3kms from the chateau.
Many scenic walking routes in the local valleys and historic 13th century abbey.

Very nice experience in this castle, we spend 31st December and we had everything needed. Space, very well maintained rooms, a very nice and attentive owner who installed a Nordic bath for us, he brought us the wood every morning for the fireplace, small details that make the difference

Ana et Rob sont des hôtes très sympathiques, disponibles et soucieux du bien bien être de leurs voyageurs. C'est la deuxième fois que nous séjournons au château d'Hambye et nous avons déjà hâte d'y retourner. Le logement est très confortable et il est possible d'en profiter à toutes les saisons en raison de la variété des équipements. Une mention spéciale pour le bain Nordique, du pur bonheur ! Anna et Rob sont de super hôte, nous avons eu un accueil très chaleureux, le château est magnifique, les chambres sont très spacieuse. Parfait pour se détendre autour de la piscine et du barbecue. Un grand merci !

We were a family party of 12 spanning three generations. The property was as described and did not fail to meet our expectations. We all had ample space and the kitchen diner was the hub for us all. The grounds were both open and safe for our younger family members and the pool area was a massive bonus. The location was excellent with a couple of bars and a small supermarket along with a bakers all within walking distance. Wonderful beaches about 20 mins drive away. We found Anna and Rob to be friendly helpful hosts and appreciate the opportunity to have been able to visit their lovely chateau.

We are a group of 3 families that holiday together multiple times a year. For 5 years each summer we have hired a large house abroad which we all share. Being 6 adults and 8 teenage girls finding a property that suits our requirements is a real challenge... but Chateau D'Hambye ticked every box!!! A wonderful outdoor pool where the girls could swim and play, and adults could relax in the sun OR shade! the indoor pool for when the weather was a bit less sunny (and when it was)… great grounds to play boules and badminton of an evening while we cooked a BBQ and all ate together on the back terrace.
The house itself was AMAZING!! Felt like a Queen for a week with 8 princesses! Enough bathrooms and bedrooms for all with loads of space for everyone. the kitchen was a fabulous size and so well equipped we could cook any meal with everyone helping out and chipping in. The utility room was great for storing all the drinks so the chefs were not disturbed when the girls wanted to fill up juice bottles.
A beautiful evening was had playing pool, and games in the ground floor rooms, and with the French doors opening to the long grass driveway flanked by trees - you couldn't get a better view to play games with friends and family.
Going to bed at night in such grand rooms, and closing all the shutters for the girls was a wonderful treat at the end of the day.
The local boulangerie and patisserie was a stones throw from the chateau and the girls enjoyed walking up each day to get fresh bread and cakes, and there is a local store in the village too. Shops such as Lidl and casino are within a short cars drive away and so is a large, quiet, beautiful sandy beach .. with free parking!
We couldn't have had a more perfect week in a more perfect location/accommodation. In fact it was that amazing we have booked for next year too!
Rob and Anna are two of the most lovely hosts you could wish for. They are on hand if you need them and are a lovely couple. Hopefully next year we will have a drink or two with them too!
Highly recommended property for any occasion - especially if you want long life memories to treasure - we sure have!

Outstanding house, with significant space. We had a party of 12 in 7 bedrooms, and on one night we had 21 persons at a dinner we prepared on site. The kids used the pool, everyone enjoyed the large property grounds and the amenities, and the conveniences in Hambye (grocery store, meat market, bakery, gas/fuel station, and more) are all within walking distance. Easy/quick access to activities in Normandy and Brittany, in a wonderful country setting. Anna and Rob Robinson are the best!

The house in Hambye was lovely. We really enjoyed our three days during NYE. The house is perfect and has a lovely big table for communal dining within the kitchen. There is a pool table and all the rooms are stunning. Anna and her partner are wonderful hosts and we are already thinking about our next trip (in summer next time!)
