A LIFE IN THE RHYTHM OF THE SUN
In the heart of the Luberon, on the heights of the small village that bears its name so well, the Bastide de Bonnieux, a well-kept refuge, is nestled. No address, only GPS coordinates. Finding the doors of this bastide is the key to an unforgettable stay. A family home, authentic, that has this special taste of a memorable holiday.
Only 10 minutes walk from the village, the Bastide de Bonnieux is intimate and quiet, almost secret. Surrounded by the scrubland, hidden by forests of oak and cedar, its white stones are heated by the sun and the cicadas give heart to joy.
Then build your memories, surrounded by your family or friends.
Enjoy the large spaces while preserving everyone’s privacy.

9 am: Go to the village on foot or by bike, to buy bread and croissants at the Boulangerie de Cécile et Jérémy. Then, go back to the house by the Church, it’s the opportunity to admire the view of the valley (tasting the first croissant for gourmets…). When you get home, you take your coffee enjoying the sun with your feet on the parapet...
Market day: While the most curious are gone to the market on foot, two of you embark on a giant chess game, protected from the sun by the green oaks that adorn the garden with this green so significant of the Luberon.
For lunch: A few tomatoes from nearby producers, and grilled sausages to be enjoyed in the shade of the arbour… The table is warm, a few sprigs of lavender from the garden and Provençal plates are enough to let us remake the world… Lunch continues until the afternoon… and the coffee is taken under the oak of the terrace... Time is suspended... And for the days when you don’t want to cook, the tables of Bonnieux and Luberon will delight your taste buds.
4 pm: While some have gone out for ice cream in the village, others bask by the pool in the hammocks nestled in the trees, or on one of the deckchairs…
6 pm: The sun’s rays illuminate the bowling pitch… It’s finally time for petanque. A fresh rosé, accompanied by its Provençal olives await you on the barrels… The heat is sweet... A beautiful evening is prepared...
8 pm: While the chefs of the group cook a tian with vegetables from the market, the others take out the aperitif… The barbecue heats… The scent reaches the sofa… Screams are joyful, cheeks are pink from the sun of the day, smiles are on the lips…

Why the Luberon?
The Luberon region is fantastic: the light is more beautiful than anywhere else. Many artists have taken up residence: Picasso, Matisse ... the landscapes are all a delight to the eyes, you will eat fruits and vegetables like nothing you've ever tasted.
Why Bonnieux?
Bonnieux is a beautiful little village of the Luberon. Located on the northern slope of the Luberon massif, between the Grand and Petit Luberon, Bonnieux has many stories of its rich past. Sights include remains of 13th century ramparts which enclose the uptown and breathtaking views of the Luberon at the top of Castle hill, at a place called "Castellar". You will also find many traces of the Neolithic.
You can enjoy a walk on foot, in the village of Bonnieux, discovering its narrow streets, stone houses and its monuments.
The environment of the Bastide is exceptional, full of history, quiet but close to all amenities. You can go buy bread and even walk to the local restaurant.
The proximity of the sea and mountains will offer you many varied activities.
Vaucluse offers many opportunities for walking, hiking and horse riding through its network of marked trails (700 km). These enable access to many tourist attractions.
Boat rides will offer another view on the city of Avignon, and cruises are available with or without meals.
There are nearby opportunities for gliding, hang-gliding, paragliding and ballooning. Discover Mont Ventoux and the mountains or the Luberon Vaucluse.
Vaucluse is a perfect destination for lovers of rock climbing, with a varying degree of mountains.
Golf enthusiasts will not be disappointed as there are 5 golf courses to choose from in the area.
Rowing, sail, windsurfing, jet-ski, canoeing and pot holing are also available in the area.
The Luberon is a gourmet's paradise: you will find delicious and charming provencal restaurants, as well as major starred restaurants. We keep a book available at home, with our best preferred restaurants.

Dinner can be provided on arrival and it is also possible to have a chef to prepare lunch or dinner.
To reserve the bastide, we ask that you pay a non refundable deposit of 25% of the total rent due, and the balance 6 weeks before arrival.
A security deposit of 1500 euros is required to cover the possibility of damages and breakages.
