Additional Notes
The property features dual UK and French plug sockets throughout. Please note that due to the staircase and timber beams across the thresholds of the bedroom doors the property may not be suitable for very young children. The property also has a telescope for the very clear night sky's free from light pollution.
There is a traditional Boulles set at the house and an ideal location to the rear of the property where there is a wide gravel path.
The property is situated in a very peaceful rural setting, but within walking distance (20-30 minutes walk) to the local village, which has it's own restaurant (normally open for lunch only), but unfortunately no shops. However, Tinchebray is a short 5 minute drive away where there are restaurants, bakery's, a lake and supermarket can be found. Several great beaches are easily reached within an hour including Granville. Le Mont St Michelle is a comfortable day trip as well. Nearby Falaise is the birth place of William the conquer with its own castle. There are several nearby disused railway tracks that are great for walks or riding bikes along. There is also a velorail that is a great activity especially with children.
There are many local activities, especially within the nearby Swiss Normandy park. There are lots of local attraction leaflets within the farmhouse.

This is a beautifully peaceful place to stay. The cottage is finished to a high standard and very comfortable. The arrival/leaving instructions were clear and easy to follow as was all the other helpful information. The garden was great for our dog and the surrounding areas are full of interesting things to do and see. Nearby Tinchebray has all one needs for food shopping and the Vet recommended by the owner was excellent. Would definitely recommend this place to stay and we would love to return here.Guest rating:
We stayed in this oh so stunning farmhouse - the pictures do not do it justice. Equipped with just about everything you could hope for and more. Spent a lovely hot week here, ventured out some days, TInchbray is lovely, as are man of the little towns you go through to get to your destination - chilled in the garden others or at the end of a lovely day out. Stunning farmhouse - would definitely recommend it and would like to go again.Guest rating:
We had a grand stay at Les Cheminees. The cottage is well-equipped and in a lovely quiet location with a good garden. There is excellent walking countryside in the area and there are a couple of splendid walks direct from the cottage. I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking for peace and quiet and night skies devoid of light pollution.Guest rating:
As the title would suggest, the farmhouse has been restored to a very high standard whilst maintaining a quaint charm with modern facilities. The property provides a very spacious environment which is well furnished providing a luxury feel throughout. During our stay we used the accommodation as a base to travel to see local places of interest of which there are many, it is well sited as a base for this area. For those who just require a peaceful rest the accommodation is very well equipped with books, games TV DVD etc. The kitchen is equipped with just about everything required to provide the meals of your choice, during our visit we used the BBQ which was ideal for those warm peaceful evenings. The property is set in a very peaceful idyllic location providing a fantastic setting for a relaxing lounge within the ample well kept gardens. The nearest small town of Tinchebray is within a ten minute drive and provides a good choice of local shops, there is also a large supermarket with the nearest petrol station. The farmhouse provided us with a fantastic setting for our two week stay. Overall I would highly recommend this property for either a peaceful retreat or as a base for seeing the area or as we did a combination of both.Guest rating:
This is a beautiful house that has been renovated to a very high standard and, given the photos of the original building that can be found in the living room, it is an amazing transformation. The house is furnished to a high standard and is in lovely condition. The house is located in a tiny hamlet but is secluded and private. The countryside is typical for this part of Normandy, undulating and expansive with no noise or light pollution, providing amazing sunrises and sunsets and night skies (there's even a telescope to take advantage of the latter). Falaise, Tinchebray and Flers are a short drive away and have all amenities, and historic towns such as Lisieux, Bayeux and the Normandy beaches are also easily accessible by car. We don't normally post reviews of holiday houses we have stayed in but, having been back to this property twice (Oct 2014 and Feb 2015 with two more visits planned this year), and the fact that the price represents amazing value for money, we feel it has definitely earned 5* and cannot recommend it highly enough.Guest rating:
We stayed here for the first time Christmas 2013 and liked it so much we returned for New Year 2014/15. We found the cottage lovely and cozy with a plentiful supply of logs in the woodshed. The house has been well restored and kitted out, good sized bedrooms and bathrooms. Plenty of garden space for the dog to run around. Locally Tinchebray is a friendly small town with boulangeries, a few bars etc. It was great to look out at the stars using the telescopeGuest rating:
We stayed at Les Trois Cheminees last year on a short break and had the most wonderful time. The weather was a bit cool in the evenings but there was enough wood in the woodshed for us to stay a whole year. The accommodation was superb and we could not have wished for anything more. Will definitely be revisiting in the near future.Guest rating:
