Coastal Walks
With over 700 miles of coastline Brittany offers a great variety of walking for all levels from dramatic cliffs to marshland teeming with wildlife and wooded tidal creeks to long sandy beaches backed by sand dunes. Including a stretch of the coast in a circular walk is often very straightforward. This is especially easy where peninsulas jut out into the sea and following the coast path brings you almost back to your starting point.
Local Attractions
Lorient (9km) - Lorient has a rich naval history and the many yachts and buildings surrounding the harbour reflect this as well as the German submarine base which has been turned into a tourist attraction. Why not spend the day in Lorient and hop on a ferry to the Ile de Groix which is located opposite the property. The crossing takes 45 minutes and the island which is the second biggest in Brittany after Belle-Ile has much to offer including lovely beaches, pretty colourful houses in the village, market twice a week and you can even hire bikes to cycle around the island on cycle paths over moorland, hidden coves and many beautiful beaches.
Ile de Groix - Lying opposite the property (4.5km as the crow flies) the island is accessible by boat from Lorient. The crossing lasts about 50 minutes and the landmarks worth seeing are Port-Louis 16th century fortification, the Grands Sables beach and the Pen Men lighthouse. The island has a wonderful landscape with high and jagged cliffs, seashell beaches as well as coves with red sand or wide stretches of thin and white sand. It is also home of bird reserve which protects a wide range of seabirds.
Doelan (26km) - The close by unspoilt fishing port of Doelan is now famous across France. This quiet haven at the mouth of a wooded creek with just a few quayside restaurants, bars and cafes was the location for the hit French TV version of Doc Martin (with the same title as the original UK series).
Concarneau (55km) - The main attraction of this important fishing port on the south Brittany coast is Ville Clos, a small walled town built on an island in the natural harbour. Accessed by a bridge from the quayside, the narrow streets within the granite ramparts are lined with shops and restaurants.
Golfe du Morbihan (60km) - The Morbihan Gulf is a massive inland sea dotted with numerous islands; only a narrow channel connects it to the open sea. Some of the islands can be explored on foot or by bike, while a great way to discover the enormity of the Golfe is aboard one of the many pleasure boats that ply the creeks and open waters between the small harbours. The area is littered with prehistoric monuments - not to be missed are the stone avenues of Carnac (under an hour’s drive) as well as the delights of old Vannes and Auray.
Nearby Activities
The region offers many sporting and leisure activities. Surfing school 6.5km away (Fort Bloqué) or in Guidel Plage (12km) offering surfing, sailing, jet skiing and canoeing. Horse riding 5km in Ploemeur. Tennis 5km in Ploemeur (indoor and outdoor). Centre Aquatique du Moustoir in Lorient (9.5km) or Oceanis aquatic complex in Ploemeur (5km) both with pool, slide, water game areas, spa, sauna, aquagym. Thank you so much for your help in booking the Villa Littoral. We take self-catering holidays at least twice a year in the UK and overseas. The Villa Littoral is utterly exceptional and best-ever. It is in a magical position perched over the sea, with a private (almost secret) access to a sandy cove below. You can walk easily to the local port for various restaurants, boulangerie, and supermarket. Or you can walk on the coastal path to other lovely beaches and wild places. We absolutely loved it, and so did our cocker spaniel! The villa itself has a great modern kitchen, comfortable lounge and many choices of outside seating areas. We cannot rate it highly enough. Also, the owner was charming, and Patricia was helpful and welcoming.
We would love to book again. Luckily, we are flexible on timing, but need to investigate next year's ferry schedule first. Roscoff proved to be the best ferry point from the UK - and great fun to explore.
A dream of a place!
Wish we were still there.Guest rating:
Yes, we had a wonderful time at Villa Littoral again, thank you.
The renovations were excellent, the kitchen/dining/living area is fabulous and feels much more spacious now The only thing missing was perhaps another sofa where the two small chairs are situated. Only 2-3 of us could comfortably watch TV together. This wasn't a huge problem as we didn't watch much TV but would be something to consider in the future. The new windows and laminate flooring also really makes the property seem really smart and refreshed.
The owner and key holder were very accommodating, as you are aware, when we needed to change the check in time. They are also lovely and friendly when you meet them.
You, yourself Christophe, have been as helpful and communicative as ever. One of the things I love about Select Villas is that you are the main point of contact and you know all your properties and owner/keyholders well. Larger companies can be incredibly difficult to contact but there have never been any problems communicating with you. Our holiday was relaxing and the views were as magical as I remembered.Guest rating:
We really enjoyed our stay thank you!
The kitchen was well equipped and the view was really lovely!
We found both Anne the owner, and Patricia, the keyholder really helpful and both were readily available. We also found the service from Select Villas excellent !Guest rating:
We had a great time at Villa Littoral - thanks for sorting out the weather, the surroundings and the location of the property and thanks to the perfect renovation that the owner has done. The kitchen is a dream and the removal of the wall gives a great feeling of space. Everything is done with good taste and careful details. We love it so much.

We had a lovely two weeks thank you; with the best weather we have ever had. The renovations were impressive and very light and airy. The only slight annoyance was the unusual number of flies. We put some water near the gate for passing dogs and cats, which initiated lots of French conversations about the animals and then lots of sympathy for Brexit.
Our godson and his family They had a lovely time an loved the renovations and all the modern extras. They came on the Friday lunchtime and left the following Friday teatime as they travelled via the ferry for Caen. It took me a while to learn all the new gadgets.
We have made a provisional booking for two weeks next year.Guest rating:
Beautiful!!
This house provided us with a beautiful beach, directly accessible from the garden. During high tide the sea is on the left and in front of the house. During low tide the view on the beach and the rocks is just as beautiful. The small beach with its green-blue see and partly white sand was in our view the most beautiful in Lomener (coast villae linked to Ploemeur). it was a quiet location, the small road behind the house is used for walking and cycling. Do not expect a luxury house, although the owner told us that the kitchen will be renewed Oktober 2022 and all other pieces of the house are in good shape to begin with. Go there for swimming and for the beautiful views.Guest rating:
We stayed at the villa for the first to weeks of July this year and it was a breathtaking location and most comfortable holiday home. The booking process with Select Villas was really efficient and straightforward, with a personal touch from Christophe that made things even easier, and the local key holder was equally efficient and friendly responding to all our queries. There are spectacular views from the terrace and from all the bedrooms in the property, which is really well equipped. The location is not only stunningly beautfiul but with access the beach from the garden, it is also uique and the beach is gorgeous too. The position, just 10 minutes walk into Lomener meant that we didn't need to use the car for much of the time - as supermarket, bakery, fishmonger and some lovely bars and restaurants are accessible. All in all a superb stay and we woudln't hesitate to go back.

Villa Littoral was all that we wanted, we had a great time. All of the arrangements were first class and the villa was in excellent order. The location could not be beaten and we would certainly consider booking it again in the future. A great holiday.

We had a fantastic stay at Villa Littoral. We were very lucky with fantastic weather! Collecting the key was easy and the two people we met at the Villa were extremely helpful and friendly. The location of the villa is fantastic! The views are amazing. It is excellent being so close to shops and restaurants and the most beautiful beaches. The Villa has everything you need and has a lot of character. We used the bbq which looked brand new. Our only complaint is the smell of the boiler room was very strong if you opened the door to get something. I am not sure if anything can be done about this though. We all slept in the bedrooms upstairs so it didn't effect us but it might if you were in the downstairs bedroom. We would definitely come back and stay at Villa Littoral again! I don't think you could find a better location. Thanks so much for all your help over the last few years and I am so pleased we finally got to France.Guest rating:
The location of the villa is out of this world (literally on the water), the view is magical, the house is very functional, and there is everything you need to spend a dream holiday. You can leave the car on site and go anywhere on foot including beautiful walks and shopping (bakery, supermarket and restaurants nearby). The key holder was very responsive and accommodating We have returned home with wonderful memories and we will definitely stay there again.

It was a lovely holiday. Always nice to be back in Brittany. The exterior of Villa Littoral is like in the pictures. Beautiful, best view ever. You can spend hours watching the sea and the sailboats. The stairs down to the beach feels very privileged! You feel like a real “beach-owner” and other people feel like intruders. Especially for kids or dogs it’s great that you have the big garden and the beach downstairs as your own backyard. It became the best daily routine going down for a swim or just to drink your cup of coffee at the seaside. We were welcomed by Patricia and the owner. They were very friendly. The interior of the house is really out of date and old. That is a pity, because with a few adjustments (a different couch for example) it can be so much cosier and comfortable. It felt like we were back in our student’s dorm back in the days! But, most important: it was clean and the beds were OK. But it is a place where good weather makes the difference of the day. You live outside, enjoy the garden, the sea etc and then you are at the best place to be. Anyway, we had a great stay, one week was way too short off course. The hospitality and welcome of Patricia and the owner were nice and kind and your service as well. I will def keep your website in mind for the next time!

A great house right on the beach with fantastic views of the sea and the Île de Groix. There can’t be a more beautiful holiday location. This is our fourth time at the property and we enjoyed every second. Our dog is also welcome, plus our four-legged friends can roam the beaches at Guidel out of season. All shops and restaurants are within walking distance. Lovers of oysters and seafood will get their money's worth. We will be back.

It was simply extraordinary, the pleasure of being so close to the sea, fabulous rooms, comfort and perfect kindness! If you have a cancellation for the month of August we would be interested, please let us know. Thanks again, it was fabulous.

Our stay in Ploemeur went wonderfully. The villa matched our expectations in every way. If you have any other similar properties in the same region, please suggest them to me. Thank you again for your professionalism.

A beautiful family home to comfortably accommodate 8 people with its 4 spacious bedrooms, all of which have the wonderful privileged view of the sea! We loved this. The house is simple and unpretentious but functional and its location is totally exceptional. We liked the terrace for sunbathing and breakfasts facing the sea. Private access to the beach with the tide is an incredible luxury. The well-protected bay lends itself to swimming and water activities. We were able to take advantage of it because we had brought inflatable paddle boards and a kayak.
Guest rating:
We loved the property. The seafront location was sublime with sea views from every room - we never tired of the view or the sounds. The beach was quiet even when it was busy and early mornings and late afternoons we had it entirely to ourselves. With the tide back I spent hours exploring seaweed, rockpools, crabs and shells with my daughter. Everything in the house was comfortable (except the beds - they're too soft and concave). Given Covid, we spent most of our time at the property and walking along the coastline. All the shops and services we needed were within walking distance or a short drive to Plomeur (the market on Sunday was great).
The service we received from yourself was excellent, you patiently waited for our very delayed payment and all the information I needed, was provided. Patricia was lovely and very easy to deal with. She arrived promptly to sort reports of an electrical circuit in the kitchen and hot water not working and got everything up and running for us. We managed with our intermediate French as she doesn't speak any English. Our only concern was that Patricia did not wear a mask when dealing with us We understand that numbers are quite low in Brittany but equally, they tripled in the time we were there so we thought it would be better to take precaution. I would certainly recommend the property although not too loudly as I don't want it to become too fully booked!
Guest rating:
We come to this area every year and were delighted to find this little gem on the coast. The views and location are amazing and we had perfect weather. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you could imagine and want. We only had one BBQ outside. We hope to come back every year now. Check in and booking were easy. No complaints - there was a bit of dog poop in the garden but that was it. The rest was perfect. We will be back again.
Guest rating:
Excellent place! Great location right on the sea with private access to the beach and beautiful views over the bay to the Île de Groix. Wake up and fall asleep with the sound of the sea. Pure relaxation on the two terraces. Good starting point for nice trips. We have rebooked for next year!
Guest rating:
This villa was perfect for our family holiday. The accommodation was spacious with a smart TV and a large living/dining area. The views were stunning and it was wonderful to be so close to the beach. There is a huge sandy beach only 10 min drive away and a supermarket within 10 min walk. I hope we will be lucky enough to have many more holidays here in the future.

We have had a wonderful holiday at the Villa Littoral - the position is unbelievable. We even had beautiful weather (and not as hot as UK!). The house worked so well with separate bedrooms for the 2 girls - they just loved the steps down to the “private” beach. We were all so enchanted, we didn’t get in the cars once.
Guest rating:
We had a great time. Although it was pretty hot! The villa was great, perfectly equipped, and in a great location.
Guest rating:
We had a wonderful time with family in the first week and a quiet time on our own in the second week to enjoy the peace and quiet Villa Littoral has to offer. The weather was generally good and apart from one showery day we managed a family walk to Kerroch and back, a walk round one of the two small lakes near Lorient and cycle rides up to the Lorient. There were sandcastles on our beach, picnics on Perello beach, walks on the rocks round the headland to Plage de la Fontaine and even swimming in the bay.
Guest rating:
We had a very pleasant stay in an exceptional location. The owner was very welcoming on arrival. Thank you also for your professionalism and diligence.
