Normandy Cottage is a new renovation of an ancient workers cottage previously part of a larger Cider farming estate. These were known as Cideries.
Originally, one side of the Cottage was for human habitation (with the large granite fireplace) and the other side was used for animal housing.. This design was known as a "byre dwelling."
The Cottage has been totally renovated for modern use .... but you will see where possible we have kept as much of the original building as possible. Even down to the hinges on a fitted cupboard!
We have:
- Two Queen size bedrooms upstairs, both with a large bathroom and walk in shower. One bathroom has a bath. Both rooms have large walk in wardrobes and storage space. There are Queen size beds in both rooms, we do not have the facility to change this.
- There is a rear patio for your enjoyment.
- The salon room is cosy yet spacious enough to seat 4 people comfortably, with a wood burner to use on those cooler days.
The heating is NOT on between April and October. During this time we have to ask for a heating supplement due to the extreme cost of fuel of 60 GBP per week. This is to run the full central heating at a constant level 24/7.
Sorry, due to an abundance of wildlife and no fences we are unable to accept pets.
Normandy is filled with historic sites from William the Conqueror to the Normandy Landing beaches.

Additional price notes
- The base price is for one couple (2 persons) sharing 1 bathroom and 1 bedroom.
- If there is another couple, (total of 4 persons maximum) then the price is an additional 75 GBP per week.
- Single couples CAN elect to use both rooms but there will be an additional charge. This goes directly to my housekeeper for her wonderful skill in keeping the place clean and washing the linen etc.
- The heating is NOT on between April and October. Due to the extreme cost of fuel, during winter months we have a heating charge of 75 GBP for 24/7 heating for a week.
