Stunning 18th Century Estate with Chateau and Farmhouse
A beautiful country estate which consists of a stunning chateau and a beautifully restored farmhouse as well as other period buildings. The estate has 50 acres consisting of gardens, a wood and a park. The park is farmed, and the farmhouse is in the centre of this park, although completely secluded from the chateau with its own access road. The estate is in a secluded position in the Norman country, on the edge of a charming valley yet only 12km from Honfleur and 22km from Deauville. The chateau was built between 1680 and 1720, and is set in its own gardens which have several other beautiful buildings including a consecrated chapel which has been used for weddings and christenings.
The properties can be rented together or separately. When rented together, up to 28 people can be accommodated and the stable block was restored in 2006 to include a function suite which can easily seat 28 for formal or informal functions. This is ideal for reunions, family birthdays, wedding anniversaries etc. If rented separately, the two properties are completely private and the guests in one property will not be aware of the guests in the other.
The estate is between the two large market towns of Pont L'Eveque (famous for its cheese) and Pont Audemer. The extremely picturesque medieval port of Honfleur is less than 15minutes away by car, whilst Deauville with its international shops, great beaches and casino is only 20 minutes away. The landing beaches are just over 30 minutes away, whilst Monet's garden in Giverny is just over 1 hour away.
Chateau du Mont has been restored to the highest standards with top quality materials such as marble floors and ornate wood panelling on 3 of the 4 floors, and offers spacious and luxurious accommodation. The ground floor has superbly decorated formal rooms including two salons and a dining room, whilst the garden floor has a large flexible space of 80m2 which can be used as a family room. There is a large heated swimming pool in the garden

Grounds
In front of the chateau is a formal entrance drive (half a mile long) which has lawns on either side, flanked by mature trees. The grounds are landscaped and have substantial flower beds full of hydrangeas and hundreds of roses.
The back garden is formal with fountains in the centre a consecrated chapel and another pavillion forming its boundaries. At the east border of the main garden you will find a formal walled Italian garden, with statues and several 'outside rooms', whilst on the other side there is an orchard.
The gardens are surrounded by fields and woods which also form part of the grounds ensuring complete seclusion. A path enters the woods from the orchard and leads down to a small spring and a stream.
Behind the orchard is the stable block behind which is a beautiful 12 metre pool. The stable block itself has been restored to provide 2 changing rooms with shower, a fully equipped kitchen, and a large salon.
- The swimming pool is exclusive for Chateau use only
The chateau is situated between the two large market towns of Pont L'Eveque (famous for its cheese) and Pont Audemer. The extremely picturesque medieval port of Honfleur is less than 15minutes away by car, whilst Deauville with its international shops, great beaches and casino is only 20 minutes away. The area is picturesque, with many apple orchards supplying apples for the local cider and Calvados industry. Many of the houses are traditional Norman timber frame and thatched houses, and the fields are often bounded by earth banks which create picturesque lanes to explore.
The region is a rural one consisting of fine scenery and unspoilt countryside. The area is is world renowned for its gastronomy - including cheese and Calvados.
