We had a lovely stay in la Lune. Perfect for what we were looking for. All to a good standard in a picturesque tranquil setting. Great weather and an ideal place to relax.

We spent a fantastic week staying at La Lune earlier in July. It was everything we were looking for- tranquil setting, beautiful gardens and perfectly equipped for cooking whatever we found in one of the local markets. The herb garden was a particular treat! We are keen cyclists and the surrounding countryside was perfect for cycling- not too hilly and plenty of picturesque towns to explore. Ken and Liz were fantastic hosts. We will be back!

This was our second visit and we left loving it even more! This little area of France definitely doesn't disappoint! The views, peacefulness and short distances to travel for things to do made it ideal for us. The cottage is nicely set up and gives you that home away from home feeling, with a gorgeous pool! Look forward to returning at some stage in the future!

Bestens ausgestattetes Ferienhaus.

We had a wonderful stay in La Lune for one week. The cottage was lovely and
very well equiped. The location is formidable. Ken and Liz are nice people
and very helpful. There is a lot to see in the neighbourhood. We did not
use the nice swimmingpool because we were to busy sightseeing. The
restaurants are worth trying. Frans and Tiny Haasdijk from Holland, AugustGuest rating:
We had a wonderful time staying in La Lune. The cottage was beautiful, and
very well equipped and the gardens and surrounding area were amazing . Ken
and Liz are charming , helpful hosts, not at all intrusive but very ready
to offer suggestions for walks restauarants and visits. We stayed for 4
nights, but could happily have stayed longer. the swimming pool was great,
and as we were blessed with good weather, great for cooling down in. There
is lots to do in the surrounding area, so hopefully we will return for
another visit.Guest rating:
Highly recommend these beautiful cottages in a peaceful rural location with
wonderful gardens. Very lovely owners who care about ensuring your stay
meets your expectation. Intelligently and tastefully furnished, La Lune is
chocolate box pretty with the most comfortable king size bed I've stayed in
away from home. The small kitchen is perfectly equipped and we cook most
nights (it's France - the produce is wonderful) however there are also
excellent local restaurants. Do go to L'Image in Preuilly sur Claise, owned
by two brothers and a wife. The food is outstanding and the owners so
friendly they spent time with us even though our French is poor. So much to
see and do near Les Frippieres, please visit the remembrance centre in
Maillè, where 124 villagers were killed during the second world war. A
tragic story told on a film avaliable in many languages told by the
survivors, it is a little known story and again the staff will spend time
with you. Of course the chateaux's and wineries are excellent and Les
Frippieres is the perfect Base. We don't tend to go back to places but
certainly would here.PS
We stayed for two weeks in June weather great.Location excellent with
plenty of markets,Cathedrals & Chateaux's to visit with one hour driving &
at the end of the day return for a lazy swim in the heated pool. The
location is very quiet & peaceful in a small hamlet of 4/5 cottages.I have
2 grandchildren but no children is good. We never eat out although Ken told
us of good restaurants in the area .Barbecues or cooked chicken & potatoes
form the markets with salad was our choice which is what we have done for
the past 11 years visiting all regions of France. This is the best
cottage,location & owners we have had in11 years.Ken & Liz keep a low
profile ,which makes you feel the place is your own, but if you need any
help with anything they cannot be more helpfull. The gardens are excellent
thanks to Kens loving care with bees & butterflys are a bonus.Guest rating:
Upon arriving, this picture perfect cottage was an absolute delightful to see. We had very enjoyable 3 night stay in mid Oct 2017, and were also lucky with lovely weather for the time of the year. Made many short trips to the local villages and great market on Loches. Also went slightly further to see some of the Chateaus and Castles that are dotted around the region, but definitely need more that 3 days to see a good selection of them. The cottage beautifully was presented and well equipped, and the hosts who live nearby, were very helpful but also respected our privacy. We look forward to enjoying another stay at La Lune! We stayed for 4 days, and had a lovely time. Ken was a great host, informative, friendly and accommodating. The Gite was clean, had everything we needed, and comfortable. The location was fabulous. The only noise came from birds and insects. No traffic, no planes, nothing. It was very relaxing. The Pool was clean and cared for, and the grounds were beautiful. It may seem that it's a bit remote, but, it's actually not far from a number of towns and villages, and we found things to do every day, (mind you, one of those days was 'sit by the pool and do nothing' but that was our choice). Plenty of sights to see, walks to take, market towns to visit. If you are thinking of going, and like your vacation spots quiet, charming and relaxing, you won't be disappointed.

We stayed for a week at the beginning of August and, having read some reviews were expecting something special. We were not disappointed! Quietly tucked away in lovely countryside yet within easy reach of a number of interesting towns and villages. The accommodation was first class and Ken and Liz very welcoming and helpful. What made it for us was the immaculate swimming pool. We have never before seen one so well kept and clean. It was shared but most days we were the only ones using it so seemed like ours alone. It is now on our favourites list - we will return!
Guest rating:
The property is very well-maintained and in fantastic countryside. My main objective was to unwind and relax in nice surroundings while still having the option to do internet-based work if necessary (it was!). Liz and Ken were excellent hosts, giving me space while also being supportive and full of information.

Thoroughly enjoyed our week in and around this charming cottage (Ciel Bleu) set above the owners' home with two other cottages. Facilities as described. Bed was extremely comfortable. Additional facilities to note: CD player, barbecue, washing line and pegs, washing machine, torch (for steep steps to front door) and binoculars to appreciate the most amazing starry skys. One of the holiday higlights! BBC TV on small screen for those who want it. We were abe to borrow a golf umbrella and a cool box at one stage. I noted that on my ipad and iphone the wifi was not fast enough to watch even short youtube clips which was not at all an issue for us but may be for others. Wifi extended from indoors to (allocated but not entirely private) lovely outdoor dining area but not to the pool area. Hosts Ken and Liz had a finely tuned balance of accommodating hospitability without being intrusive. Country lanes to get everywhere had hardly any traffic and endless rolling hills and sunflower fields. Gorgeous. Would be very keen to stay there again. Thanks!

We had a great week at this property. Ken and Liz made us feel very welcome whilst also letting us find our own feet. All the recommendations were great. We had a lovely mixture of relaxing in the sun at the pool and exploring the area. It really is a hidden gem.
Guest rating:
Ken and Liz are very welcoming and helpful hosts. The flat is comfortable, spacious and well-appointed. There's also the bonus of free wifi and the use of a washer and drier. The weather was not good while we were there so we weren't able to use the garden/pool but there were still plenty of interesting places to visit within easy reach. Recommended.

We spent a week staying in La Lune and can only say that we enjoyed every moment and would recommend it to anyone looking for a quality stay in the Loire Valley. La Lune is a beautiful cottage with every amenity to make one's stay comfortable and relaxing. The cottage was clean and well maintained; Ken and Liz are the perfect hosts. They were on hand the whole time to answer questions and make suggestions we stayed in La Lune but at the same time we did not know they were there. We found La Lune to be exactly as it was described on the web site and the gardens were a picture. The overall setting is extremely peaceful and quiet.
The location is convenient for touring the Valley in general and the Chateuax in particular. The nearby abbey in Fontgombault was a surprising bonus. The monks chant at vespers is not to be missed.
When next we visit the Loire we will not look past staying with Ken and Liz in La Lune

Just returned from a wonderful relaxing week in the Loire Valley staying at La Luna property for the week. Ken and Liz were fabulous hosts, right from the booking of La Luna through to the end of my relaxing week. La Luna has a warm, welcoming feel to it and for a one bed cottage it feels very spacious and is very well equipped with everything you will need for your time there.
Was a great base to get out and about to explore the Loire Valley - I did day trips out to Chateaux near Tours and well as visited the sites around the local area, taking in local markets and points of interest. Liz and Ken have a well compile list of activities to consider while you are there so there is always something to do. Did also enjoy relaxing in the garden when I wanted to take it easy.
The best compliment I can give La Luna and Liz and Ken, is that I would happily return to this property in the near future.

Perfection. Sublime cottage, well equipped, well informed and the perfect location for visiting all the lovely nearby towns and chateaux. Very helpful but discreet hosts. Highly recommended.

We had a fantastic week at La Lune. The cottage is beautiful and is set in an idyllic and tranquil location surrounded by wonderful French countryside. There is plenty to do in the local area - the nearest town, Le Grand Pressigny, has everything you need along with an ancient chateau that has been turned into a state-of-the-art prehistoric museum, and slightly further afield Descartes has a lovely market on a Sunday. It is also the perfect place to relax, and the pool is ideal for cooling off on a hot afternoon. Ken and Liz are great hosts, welcoming us warmly but giving us plenty of space to relax. We can't recommend the gite highly enough!
Guest rating:
The recommendations I read before booking were not promising too much.
We had a wonderful time to relax in a superb environment, especially the absolute lack of sounds in the night was a dream coming true. La Lune is very nicely furnished, everything was there and in very good condition what was needed.
The location is perfect for relaxing in the countryside, but no too far away from the highlights of the Loire-valley, perfectly located to go either in direction of Saumur or to Blois and everything between.
Ken and Liz are superb hosts, as I told them before , we'll be back !
Guest rating:
Loved the position of the gites - well kept and romantic spot; private despite being one of three gites. Kind courteous informative but not intrusive owners Ken and Liz let us help ourselves to their herbs, fruit and vegetables in the garden. Fantastic peaceful area. Recommended.
Guest rating:
When we arrived at Les Frippieres we were delighted at this beautifully situated cottage. Everything you need is in the cottage along with lots of little nice touches from the owners Ken and Liz.
Ken and Liz were very friendly and kindly booked restaurants for us and made some great recommendations for things to see and do in the area.
We had a very relaxing holiday - cycling to the nearest villages for our fresh bread& cakes, exploring the surrounding areas - you do need a car, eating at some lovely restaurants and tasting the local wine. We also loved chilling out in the gardens at La Lune, they are beautiful and we also got a chance to laze by the pool. if you really wish to get away from it all we would highly recommend a stay.
Guest rating:
We had a great few days at La Lune and would thoroughly recommend this lovely cottage. Everything you need is there; it is well-equipped, cosy and very comfortable. We enjoyed cycling around the area and visiting places we had missed on previous visits to the Loire Valley. The cottage is in a beautiful setting - perfect for relaxing and recharging your batteries. The owners are helpful and friendly, but unobtrusive. The only minus point was that we couldn't stay longer!
