The Dordogne river meanders throughout undulating hills, forests and limestone cliffs with new discoveries around every corner.

Discover the second most-visited site in France - Rocamadour - a medieval treasure that is literally hanging off the cliffs of the Alzou canyon. Enjoy the fun of canoeing down the river, which winds through breathtaking valleys. Visit the prehistoric caves of Lascaux, where extraordinary cave paintings (17,000 years old) tell the tales of prehistoric man.
Outdoor activities from hot-air ballooning to golf, walking and cycling are all very close to our holiday accommodation.
The Dordogne is also a fantastic family friendly area, full of fun activities for kids. They can canoe or swim in the river, which is quite safe and shallow in the summer months. For kids in need of thrills, they can splash in a waterpark with slides, pools, trampolines & bouncy castles (15 kms from us). Or they can go tree climbing in La foret des Ecureuils where they can jump from tree to tree and dangle from a flying fox 40 feet above the ground! Step back into history at the castle of Beynac with its museum of ancient warfare - a great place to visit.
Finally, after a long day’s activities, you can choose from a variety of restaurants as the rich culinary tradition of the Dordogne offers many gastronomic experiences ranging from Haute Cuisine to traditional French food.

Very beautiful house with everything you need. Its nicer in reality than what you see on the internet. The whole ensemble is lovely. Very nice swimming pool. Well done!
Guest rating:
What a wonderful setting for a relaxing break. The farmhouse was spacious and beautifully furnished. The local shop for the morning bread was within walking distance as was the river for a Kayak trip.
Chilling out by the pool was perfect and it’s easy access to all the surrounding towns. We had a lovely time and we would definitely go back.
Thanks to Sean and Cecile for being so welcoming and helpful.Guest rating:
We are just back from a wonderful 2 week stay in the farmhouse. The location was ideal, very quiet, beautiful views of the cliffs, large garden and a great pool. The house was very well equipped and very clean. The children loved their rooms, the kitchen had everything we needed and more and everything in the house had a personal touch and was of high quality. In short, a great holiday due to a wonderful house, fantastic pool and the lovely Dordogne region.

We had a wonderful holiday at Laborie this August - two families with five kids in total. The space worked perfectly for us. It's clearly a much loved and cared for home and we appreciated the games, books, beautiful furnishings and well stocked kitchen. The outdoor space proved very relaxing and the pool was the perfect place for the kids, so we ended up spending a lot of time staying at Laborie. Having said that, there are lots of activities nearby including the canoeing at Meyronne - really well organised service - and we had idyllic days out at Floirac and Carrannac. I would highly recommend Laborie for a family holiday where you are looking to combine relaxation and explore a gorgeous area.

Thank you for a brilliant stay at Laborie. The Farmhouse is fantastic for two families holidaying together, with lots of space for everyone, spread over three floors. The house has lots of French style but with a modern touch and is tastefully decorated. The swimming pool is fantastic and garden a great place to have a BBQ in the evenings. The location of the house is equally fantastic. Near closeby villages with a mini-supermarket bread shop and butcher and a bar and restaurants. For sightseeing in the Dordogne you are equally well located. Nice hosts and we definitely recommend this place.

We had a fantastic stay at the Farmhouse at Laborie. The house is very comfortable, in wonderful grounds and set in a beautiful location. The owners were very welcoming and accommodating. We would recommend this property to anyone considering a holiday in the Dordogne region. The Browns.

We were two families with two children each and we had a wonderful week. The house was very well maintained and clean. As was our private garden and pool, which we shared with two other families. The friendly landlord was available at any time and had great advice on what to see and do. We were completely satisfied!

We had a fantastic two weeks staying in the Farmhouse at Laborie. Two families and children from age 7 - 12. The Farmhouse was perfect for us with plenty of space for children and adults with a lovely kitchen for cooking in, although we often used the BBQ in the lovely garden. Laborie is a great base from which to see the various sights of the Dordogne Valley, whether it's setting off canoeing for the day or traveling further afield for wine tasting. Sean's recommendations for things to do were spot on and a week would not have been long enough. What we really appreciated was that Laborie was really well located for sight-seeing but off the tourist track. Laborie's location is so peaceful and quiet it was lovely to sit in the garden with a beer/wine or by the pool following a day' activities or sight-seeing. Local restaurants are a short drive or walk away. Rocamadour is only 15 minutes drive and there are a variety of caves to visit although I'd advise booking in advance. Sarlat and it's fantastic market is 40 minutes drive and we combined the day with a trip to Forest des Ecurieils which kept the children active and happy! PS beer enthusiasts take a lunch at Le Pourquoi Pas (find a designated driver though!)

We have spent a glorious week at Laborie in the Farmhouse which was perfect for our group of 5 older adults. I am so glad that I found this place. The pictures on the website don't do it justice, it is very roomy and felt like home before the first night was over. Sean was there to welcome us and gave us some great advice on "must do" outings which we followed up and thoroughly enjoyed every one of them. The property is in a picturesque setting and a beautiful part of the Dordogne. It is within easy driving distance of so many beautiful places but of course we ran out of time, so must return. The pool was perfect fend of a busy day before deciding on dinner. Highly recommend this property for any family group, it just works so well!

I wish to thank you for a very enjoyable stay in your lovely farmhouse. It was nice and secluded yet within easy reach of many good attractions for adults and children alike. The children of course spent most of their time in the swimming pool and we could relax on the sun beds and soak up the sun. Thanks once again, we will be back.Guest rating:
We had a superb and relaxing holiday in this large and comfortable house, full of character, very well equipped and very clean. Laborie is ideally located for local shops, canoe hire and visiting the sights of the area. Thanks to Cecile and Sean for their helpfulness, always available with local knowledge and advise. An awesome location.
Beautfiul house in the heart of a beautiful region. Cécile and Sean are adorable and offer great advice.Guest rating:
We had an amazing time at Laborie. The Farmhouse was out of this world and Sean and Cecile were so welcoming and it felt like home for the fortnight we were there. We were two families 2 adults and 2 children and the children were aged 11, 9 and 8 and we had no problem finding things to do and places to see that suited everyone. We only ate out once at the pizzeria restaurant in St Sozy as we just enjoyed having evening meals at the Farmhouse in the fantastic garden. The children loved the pool but also enjoyed the canoeing down the Dordogne, tree top climbing, Rocher des Aigles show in Rocamadour, Gouffre De Padirac this was amazing and going round Rocamadour itself, which is worth going to as it is a beautiful place. This was our first visit to the Farmhouse but it wont be our last, there's sooooo much we have not yet seen. We are all still talking about our wonderful time at Laborie. Sean always made sure that we had everything that we needed and if not he would sort it out straight away so we can't thank him enough. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Laborie to anyone and we will be back hopefully in 2017!!Guest rating:
We have just returned from a wonderful week at Laborie. We stayed in The Farmhouse which was lovely, so spacious and full of character, and Sean and Cecile have thought of everything so you just turn up and relax, and feel totally spoilt. The layout is great for families, with lovely open plan rooms, and the garden is huge! We spent a lot of time sitting at the big table under the trees, just enjoying the surroundings, and the occasional croaking noise from the frogs in the little ponds. The pool was perfect, with sun loungers to relax on and countryside views to enjoy. The location is ideal with St Sozy just a few minutes down the road, we cycled there every morning for bread and croissants. There are numerous restaurants nearby and Sean gave us lots of suggestions for places to eat. We kayaked on the Dordogne and visited the caves and many other wonderful places, there is so much to see and do in this area, I am sure we will be back! Yvonne. & TimGuest rating:
What can I say about this property that I am sure hasn't already been said. The Farmhouse that we stayed in was really great everything that you needed and very spacious and most important plenty of hot water. What we found was so nice, after a day visiting some of the lovely places to go. was to relax around a very nice pool on comfy sun beds then after dinner because of the glorious location you could go for a really nice walk. Sean and Cecile are charming people who will help out where they can and the directions that we received before we arrived were spot on. We don't normally recommend places to people as everyone is so different but this property we would, loved it. Sheila & Peter 17.09.14Guest rating:
We had a brilliant week in Laborie. The Farmhouse had everything we needed and the pool and garden were superb - a perfect base for us all to relax and enjoy the glorious weather. The area is beautiful with loads of things to see and do very close by. Sean and Cecile had thought of everything and were able to give us lots of information and advice. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Laborie to anyone. August 2014

We spent a lovely week at Laborie in the farmhouse. the farmhouse was stunning, very well appointed and spacious for our family of five. Our hosts Sean and Cecile were welcoming and very friendly, with lists of recommendations of sites to see and restaurants to try. The location is superb, a quite tranquil oasis in a well placed location to explore some of the most beautiful villages in France. The Dordogne has so much to offer.

We had a fabulous family holiday at Laborie. The farmhouse is great, a real home from home with lots of lovely touches. It is much bigger than it looks in the photos. Pool was great for the whole family. Plenty of outdoor space. Great base to explore the region and loads to do and see locally. Sean and Cecile were excellent hosts and had plenty of tips and recommendations for days out and restaurants. Don't hesitate to book, you won't be disappointed. And a special thank you to little Eva who was a wonderful host too:)
Best wishes to you and your family.

Sean and Cecile,
We just wanted to drop you a line to thank you for a wonderful week at Laborie. The Farmhouse was beautiful and perfect for our 2 families. The setting couldn't have been better and the swimming pool very welcome in the heat!
We were very lucky to have made friends with the other families staying at Laborie and we had a fun time altogether. The area is stunning with so much to do but the highlight for us must have been Kayaking down the Dordogne.
Thanks again – we really hope we can make it back soon and thank you for being helpful and welcoming hosts.Regards- Matt

When I viewed this location on the web I was swayed by the reviews Laborie had received. Well, all I can say is that no one so far has adequately described these properties, and I won't be able to either. Beautiful, elegant, fantastic and idyllic are not enough!
We arrived, two families, on a Saturday to this beautiful rural location. The Farmhouse is as described on the Laborie website, but somehow it just doesn't do it justice. The Farmhouse has been wonderfully restored to a very high standard with attention to detail and some lovely little quirks.
On our second week we stayed in the Barn - again a really well presented and restored property. Whilst we stayed at Laborie my cousin came to visit, who is a builder. He commented that this was one of the best restorations / conversions he has viewed, and he left with a few more ideas for his own future projects. The icing in the cake was the local knowledge that Sean and Cecile provided us with. No matter what we asked them about they had an answer and if they were not sure they came back quickly with one. They were excellent hosts and they definitely went out of their way for their guests.
A visit to Rocamadour, Sarlat, canoeing on the Dordogne and the tree top adventure park are all worth a visit for adults and children.
A holiday destination I can highly recommend to either a family or a couple, set in a perfect location.

Thank you so much for such a perfect holiday. We had a fantastic time whilst staying at Laborie; with just the right mix of French Life - idyllic setting and sleepy lifestyle. It is ideally situated for all the tourist attractions (if wanted) with plenty to do, all within less than 2 hours travel time - exploring the glorious chateaus on offer, lunch in a medieval town, discover the wide variety of local foods offered or visit many of the archaeologically sites abundant in the area. You most surely will never be bored!
Our hosts Sean, Cecile & Eva were friendly and thoughtful. We hardly noticed that they were there but they were always available when we needed something such as a recommendation for a romantic dinner at a Michelin star restaurant or interesting places to visit and explore. The accommodation was beautifully presented, very clean, spacious and had a touch of romanticism to it, which we loved. They thought of everything and if you did forget anything at home then it is only a 10 minute walk to St. Sozy where you can find a local butcher, Spar, bakery and a few low key restaurants offering everything from pizza to French cuisine.
Laborie offer a warm, welcoming, peaceful holiday away from the normal stresses of life, a perfect escape!

We had a wonderful two week summer break in Laborie and had a fantastic time. The place was lovely, typically French and very well appointed. We rented the main house, which is huge and homely and very tastefully decorated. The owners were full of good advice on what to do and see. The close proximity of Laborie to the sites was also a big bonus for us. All in all, great location, great property and a great holiday.
Guest rating:
We have taken many holidays in France over the years and I can say that without any doubt that the Dordogne Valley is our favourite area. Stunning unspoilt scenery, amazing medieval towns and villages with fantastic food and drink, and friendly people. Laborie is well placed for local walks, river-based activities and trips to larger towns and cities by road or rail. The local village (St Sozy) is a treat. The accommodation (we have visited several times) is fantastic whether you are in the barn, the bread oven or the farmhouse. The decor in all three is tasteful but understated. There is privacy if it is required but also the chance to mingle with other guests if you want to (especially around the refurbished pool). Sean and Cecile are exemplary hosts – friendly, helpful and informative about places to visit and eat. They both speak French and English. We cannot recommend it highly enough. A great place to experience an authentic part of France.
